Use the system's own screenshot feature?

LOL no I know that, I mean it's hard to see everything because this camera doesn't let you zoom in or out good enough. What good is taking a pic of your armor if you can't see the legs?

We need a better photo mode with the ability to save the pics to your album I think.

I'd say they sound like amateurs, but I hired some amateurs for my game and they're better

Thats a bit harsh. But it was definitely a missed opportunity. Did no one at NoA think that getting some passionate A list talent talking about Zelda on your regular talk shows would be a good idea? If you are going for American VAs how do you not just pay Kristen Bell all the money to be zelda, or go British and get Julie Andrews to be Impa.

Both are instantly recognisable people beloved by a wider demographic then what games usually reach and they both have previous VA experience. Its a win win. Imagine how well Zelda would be recieved by girls aged 5-10 if they new Zelda was in Frozen ect.

Everytime i hear the king speak i just think man Robin Williams would have been perfect. His very presence made the world a happier better place. BotW is probably the first time its hit me that he's really actually gone for some reason.

I like that it's there and it does have moments but overall it's pretty meh.

Also
Link better fucking talk in the next one
.

Spoiler. I hope not. Thats the best peformed role in the english dub.

Anyone know how to spawn
Naydra after you've finished the Spring of Wisdom side quest? Trying to upgrade my Champion's Tunic and get some horn shards. Was super easy to get the Farosh horn parts but having trouble even getting Naydra to appear.

Zelda has the worst voice acting of any game Ive ever played. It toally removes me from the entire scene which sucks. I kind of wish they went back to just text if this is how theyre going to do it lol

If you have access to it, id highly recommend the LatinSpanish and German Dubs. Both are really good.

Eh, not really. I think it works for how she's supposed to be
jaded and detached from her role and cynical of Link's accolades.

I wish I wasn't a cynical fuck because then I could be enjoying the exploration for what it is but the lack of meaningful rewards is disheartening. I wish there was more to the progression than just resistances going up.

I'm really not understanding what this game wants from me in the
Lost Woods. No more torches to follow, I can't find any torches to light. Pretty frustrating trying to find my way and then I think I'm getting somewhere and PSYCH! Teleported back.

it sure is windy there, isn't it

light a torch or weapon, and follow the wind by looking at the fire on your weapon

how do you get to the shrine
underwater next to the waterfall at zora's domain
?

it's part of a sidequest, talk to the littles girls in zora domain, one is singing a song, it will launch the quest and help you find how to activate this shrine

I don't believe so :(
Mipha is far worse.

Oh god I have not gotten here

I understand what shes trying to do, she just does a terrible job of making it sound authentic. It screams "voice actress trying to sound distraught" rather than "cgaracter who is distraught"

I managed to solve it by following the animals. And also by turning around asap when the cloud starts to surround me again.

There's no excuse for an English dub to be as bad as this is in 2017

I think it's a problem with how NOA does things and the tone of the work itself. If they try to present something with a hint of seriousness, it sucks. Why? I dunno.

IMO they need to:
- Shorten up the dialog so it doesn't sound like the lines are spliced together quickly
- Give some bloody direction. There's no sense of accent among any character despite it being there in the text itself.

God Damn, why is this game so fucking good? I'm angry at my friends, my job, my natural need to sleep all because they keep getting in the way lol.
It, it's amazing in a way I haven't experienced in many years from a game.

"Hey bro you don't mind if I take this with me right? Wanna try out the handheld mode. Goodnight! I'll bring it tomorrow."

Seriously, who invites people over to play Zelda when they first get it. I practically sent my wife to the other side of the house to avoid any distractions for the first four days.

I actually don't think Zelda's VA is that bad. There are a couple of memories where she's quite good. But there are others where she's less so.

It comes down to voice direction and casting more than the capabilities of the actors themselves.

I don't want to be too harsh, because I still want Nintendo to keep trying, but NoA is just really lacking in comparison to other regions.

I remember a while back somebody did calculations and said that BotW was slightly smaller than Xenoblade X (and I was super excited about that too). I put a ton of time into Xenoblade and is it just me or is Zelda dramatically bigger? Like, twice as big?

Maybe not in terms of fictional square footage but it sure as hell feels that way. It amazes me the more I think about it.

Also what's going on with the red moon thing happening back to back times occasionally? Rather odd. Happened to me 3 times in 10 minutes once.

I am honestly surprised so many people dislike the Zelda VA. I actually think she is good.Far from bad. Mipha sounded a little disjointed, but that could be due to dialogue length changing during translation.

Tbh, the only thing that bothers me about the voice acting is the non-dialogue stuff, like grunts or laughter. It's so obvious they just used the Japanese voices for those and there's a sort of disconnect between that and the spoken English dialogue.

Zelda sounds like an adult woman doing a shrill voice in an attempt to sound young, all the while layering a poor British accent over it. Also just poor acting, bad inflection, and overly melodramatic.

Mipha was possibly even worse for similar reasons and I'm guessing has the same VA as Zelda. Grating best describes the segments in which they appear.

The old man sounds like a 20-something trying to sound like an old dude. Bad to the point it's funny. Definitely not as bad as Zelda or Mipha.

The only halfway decent voice acting I've heard so far is the lady voicing the Gerudo Champion.

The direction for the voice acting must have been awful, because it sounds like half the time the actors don't know anything about the context in which their lines would be spoken. The game would've been better without it. Too bad it's not possible to have the Japanese voices with English subs. For all the time they spent on developing this game, I do not understand why they decided to skimp on the voice acting. I haven't played any JRPGs in a while, which I'm sure are still just as great in this department, but BotW definitely has the worst voice acting I've heard in a good long time.

Zelda sounds like a young British woman.

Mipha pauses too often during her lines.

Old guy sounded like a jolly old guy.

Japanese voices sound like a bunch of high-pitched nasally voices and often come across as annoying.

*shrugs*

A list talent would be fun, but, honestly, you don't need it. You can find good voice over actors pretty readily. There are great people out there wanting to work.

Beyond that, though. direction and editing goes an enormously long way to having a good end result. With editing you can really fix up a performance. It's like no one who was involved in getting the NA voicework done gave a shit.

I'm glad I didn't set up the app that lets you track playtime on the switch. It's been a week and I'm still going hard on the game.

I'm also still running into things that blow my mind.

I'd like to exchange some nuts to
increase the inventory
, but I haven't seen the character to do this since
my first encounter near the first village
, where I can't find it anymore :/

I guess it's normal, but did I miss something about where to encounter it, though? Should I go on exploring for a chance to find it?

Also, I wasn't expecting the BotW Amiibos to be in such short supply :/

i will get this masterpiece as soon as i'm done with my damn exams

one thing i'm worried about, most of the footage i've seen are in the open map and it's all green with no variety

what i love about Zelda is the Dungeons, is there as much dungeons as the previous games ?

@ Koren: You can encounter Hestu at another stable as you progress. Do read his dialogue carefully though as he points you in the direction of where he'll be next.

You can't sneak on top of a Hinox and attach 5 balloon to it's belly as it sleeps. I am disappointed.

He told you to follow Hylia River north. Do that and you'll eventually find him at
a stable.

There's all sorts of biomes. Don't you worry about variety. There's even a
tropical rainforest
, though it's not necessary to visit in the main quest.

Technically speaking, no. But also yes.
Not that you'll mind. Shrines are a real treat; nearly one-hundred individually crafted puzzles (some are combat challenges). Brilliantly designed all-around, really.

Zelda's dubbed voice sounds a bit too stiff for her character, everyone else is fine.

NoA's had a consistent problem with voice direction for a while with games that have extensive dialogue (Metroid: Other M) or voice clips (Smash Bros.), only exception that has great direction being Kid Icarus Uprising
