Twilight Princess is definitively better than Wind Waker

Holy friggen sweet jesus I'm nearly done with Snowpeak and this game has been consistently better than Wind Waker in almost every way. I can understand people not liking Skyward Sword for whatever technical reason, but Twilight Princess is simply better in the same mold that Wind Waker uses.

-Better dungeons
-Better bosses
-More rewarding exploration
-INFINITELY better items

I've dropped wind waker multiple times but Twilight Princess still has me hooked. What do people see in WW?

WW is pretty charming, but boring as a whole. I don't love Twilight Princess, but I do see it as essentially the better Ocarina of Time.
Yeti Mansion
for best dungeon in the series.

But regardless, Majora's Mask stands above all three.

I respect your opinion but you're wrong.

The best thing about TP is Link's outfit in it.

Twilight Princess never sat right with me. The game feels like they tried too hard to make another Ocarina of Time. I think it's the least original entry in the series. I much prefer both Wind Waker and Skyward Sword.

no, but I actually loved Twilight Princess so I'll allow it.

Oh I see... The Zelda cycle this time actually is applied in reverse because they are HD remakes. Add that new remake clause to the Zelda Cycle.

Twilight Princess gets way too much hate, if it didn't have such a weak opening it'd probably be seen in a much better light.

OP...

Winder Wakes edges it out for me

I agree but only by a bit. I really dislike the side character models, the beginning, and the filter and bloom stick around forever.

Wind Waker gets to excel at colorful art style, sound effects, and exploration though.

Nope. Wind Waker was the only game in the modem 3D Zelda series that truly nailed the feeling of exploration and discovery (until BotW of course). TP was just a prettier Ocarina of Time with 100x worse pacing.

I like Wind Waker's world better.

Better Music, story, Link ,characters, and Final Boss.

But Dungeons and Bosses are much better in TP. I don't really care for anybody in TP, thus making it a inferior game for me

Still Great Games tho

I was fully ready to jump on the RTTP train for Skyward Sword in 6 months once the cycle kicks in but I'm just on too big of a high now.

Dungeons are the meat and potatoes, you can't skimp on them and expect the game to stand.

you're not gonna like the new direction of the series...

but I like WW way more. I played twilight princess for the first time last year and it really just felt like a kinda cookie-cutter OoT2. I liked it, but it was forgettable imo

Pretty much... Game was basically "hey guys remember Ocarina?" plus playable wolf. Not that that's a bad thing per se

Felt wind water was way more inspired but both games are good, depends on what floats your boat

I've been playing all of the Zelda games over the past ~2 years (some for the first time), and WW is the only one that I couldn't finish. It just lost me after a dozen or so hours.
So yeah, I agree.

That said, TP's bosses sucked.

I haven't played any Zelda games between Ocarina (amazing, obv.) and BotW (even more amazing!), so I have missed out on a lot of Zelda. However, TP always looked pretty cool from the screenshots etc, as well as having a 96 on Metacritic. What was so wrong with it that gets is slammed on GAF so frequently?

I'm in a pro-TP cycle, because I'm over my story/style issues with it mostly, in the sense that they aren't a big deal, it always had the better dungeons, and the HD remake trimmed the fat of the first part (and I rediscovered that the second part is excellently paced).

I will say that TP has my favorite boss in the entire Zelda series.

I was a kid when TP came out, played it non-stop on my gamecube, it was 1:30am and got to the Snowpeak boss.

Freaked me out back then, was a totally unexpected moment for me, Although I should've seen it happen honestly.

-Better dungeons Yep
-Better bosses Nothing great in either, but WW's were better
-More rewarding exploration Depends, the sea in WW is boring to travel through but the concentrated onland section are way more fun to go through than TP's empty boring land
-INFINITELY better items Nope, WW's were just way more fun to use, and the fact that most items barely got any use outside their dungeons in TP was awful.
Also combat while meh in both, was more fun in WW. WW also had the better version of Zelda and overall better cast of characters and story(and this is from someone who really liked Medna).

I really enjoyed both games but Wind Waker was more enjoyable in my eyes. Never really enjoyed the wolf bits in TP but the game was fun.

Sorry guys, but 14 years later, toon link still looks really dumb. i'm surprised they even put him in smash bros, probably just because they knew everyone would want to beat up this chump.

I agree completely!

I hated Wind Waker's obnoxiously obtuse dungeons, which shattered any possible lasting enjoyment I had from the game. At least it has the Triforce Hunt.

Twilight Princess' intro is an unbearable slog, but at least its later dungeons are damn good.

Also I love both art styles! Wind Waker is fun and poppy and expressive and Twilight Princess is dark and gritty and badass and I am happy we have room for both :)

Majora's Mask remains king for me, though.

Breath of the Wild
I hope that with everything Breath of the Wild does, breaking the conventions of "main 3D dungeons" sticks the most. I loathe most Zelda 3D dungeons and while BOTW flirts with them, I'm ready for Zelda to break up with it!
