Anyone else dislikes Nintendo's current love for washed out color schemes?

I am seeing this trend with Nintendo games where the color schemes are washed out and they seem to be overdoing the... bloom lighting? (WW HD), this seems to be continuing with BotW and the new Mario game, i think it does their games a disservice. They would look much better with more contrast while dialing down the bloom lighting.

I am adding a few comparisons between Switch and PS3 games as examples.

PS3:

the washed out colors and bloom in WWHD and BotW are absolutely disgusting. I don't even like how prominent it is in MK8.

I see nothing particular about those PS3 pics that looks any better than the Switch screenshots. In fact I vastly prefer what i see in the Switch ones honestly.

I dunno, I feel like it gives them a kind of "elegant" look. BoTW especially.

I never got the hate for BoTW's look, actually. Aliasing aside, the game's stunning and one of the most gorgeous I've ever played.

For some reason BoTW feels like it plays on limited RBG range (but I don't get this feeling with any other Wii U games). I guess that's the washed out look people are talking about? For me it's just isolated to BotW though, every other Wii U game have great colors IMO.

Sorry but the only game i see anything approaching "washed out colours" is BotW.

I'm not seeing it in any of their other titles at all. They look very colourful and vibrant to me.

How "washed out" BotW looks is almost entirely dependent on time of day and weather.

And Mario looks plenty colorful already.

Zelda is very colorful and looks fantastic. There are plenty of ultra grimdark and moody games to go around. Zelda and Mario don't need to go that direction.

They went overboard with the bloom in Twilight Princess and Mario Kart Wii, but I think they've toned it down since then.

Zelda is only dark when it's cloudy out.

And Nintendo has the most colorful games out on the market.

What the fuck is OP talking about...

To posters mocking the BotW picture, post one that shows better contrast?. And do you honestly not see how colors pop in the PS3 examples while they look muted in the Switch examples?

Also, and this is important. I am talking about Nintendo 1st party output, not saying that ALL switch games look the same (they don't).

Wait then why do you think Splatoon and Arms (and I am guessing Xenoblade 2) are also washed out?
