Thought this deserves its own thread considering its KK and not napkin drawings.

Days after a claimed 3D design drawing of the upcoming "iPhone 8" appeared, frequent Weibo leaker KK has shared a different dimensional drawing and renderings showing a device that is somewhat smaller in size than the previous leak. The veracity of the new drawing can not be confirmed, but KK has on several occasions shared accurate details about previous devices.

This new iPhone 8 leak shows a device that measures 137.54 mm tall by 67.54 mm wide, nearly identical to the iPhone 7's 138.3 mm x 67.1 mm body. The thickness of the iPhone 8 is not shown on the drawing.

According to the diagram, the iPhone 8's display measures 5.768 inches on the diagonal and will indeed cover nearly the entire front of the device. There appears to be only a 4 mm bezel around all four sides of the display, with over half of that being the 2.5D curved glass at the edges and the remainder appearing to be the device's frame around the sides.

The drawing shows a narrow earpiece at the top of the device's front, with various cameras, sensors, and other components on either side of the earpiece. Those components would likely include a front-facing camera, small microphone hole, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and the rumored 3D sensor.

All of these components appear to be embedded within the display area itself, and while the accompanying rendered mockups based on the drawing show the earpiece appearing as a physical slit within the display area, the camera and other sensors are not depicted and it is unclear how they would appear in reality.

The schematics and the render don't line up in regards to what the front facing camera is doing and where it goes, that's my first thought

My second thought is I will preorder as soon as possible

I do not believe that the company with the biggest bezels in the business will go completely bezel free like this wishful render.
They are getting the screens from Samsung, if anything the device will look almost identical from a screen perspective to the S8 series...

Hopefully it's sexy, my original 6 plus is absolutely destroyed and holding on by a limb. I'm trying to hold out for this.

I guess Samsung is the true design innovator in the industry nowadays. First iPhone 6+ with the big screen and now iPhone 8 cutting down the bezels, heh.

Yeah, will most likely have a bezel somewhere like the Xiaomi Mix

Anyone else get the feeling that no one gives a shit? Until Apple invests in creating contacts that are connected to my phone, all these iterations between are just meh.

Stop It

Perfectly able to grasp the inherent value of the fishing game.
So Apple going from the worst bezel to screen ratio out of the high end phones to this? I approve. I've also read that apparently Apple are struggling to get their fingerprint scanner into the screen so may pull an LG and stick it on the back.

Either way it'll make for what a phone should really be nowadays, all screen with little wasted space.

Great homage to the original iPhone. If I were to ever buy an iPhone, it would be this one, beautiful.

But wouldn't that just be the 7? Never seen them release 2 fully upgraded models before...

The rumour is 7S, 7S+ and the iPhone Edition (or 8 or whatever they're calling it).

It's a special year because of iPhone's tenth anniversary, according to macrumors etc. I hope it's true because a drastic redesign is very appealing.

The apple product line is fucking stupid

Well won't argue there, it's become quite a mess.

I think the plan was to have a family of them just called iPhone this year, but cost/production just isn't there yet. So we've got a right assortment instead.

The 8 is the special advance preview of what they will be, yours for $1000.

People give a shit, thats why Apple keeps making bank and killing expectations.

Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch

Camera embedded into the display area? Wow

No physical Home button? Nice. Join us Nexus users in the land of full screen smartphone goodness my iPhone bros, it's great.

Even though I'm an Android man, that looks good if legit.

Looks like an incredible piece of design.

Can't say that's the vibe I got from it. The S8 is going in the same direction but has a sleeker look to it.

Not that I would call that an "incredible piece of design" either.

Phone designs have been boring for a while now, especially Apple.

(I don't think the final phone is going to look like this, I should add.)

I disagree.
Love it.

Hopefully ends up being close to what the design is. Will give my 256GB iPhone 7+ to my mum. 📲

This looks bad/trash whatever you say, feels when you think of iPhone half naked. That apples feeding themselves now really out of innovation. Camera reminds of old Nokia n8.

Would be over the moon if it looked like that render. But not sure if curved corners and cameras embedded within displays are possible.
