K-Pop Fanboy/Fangirl |OT7| A Great Trash Leader as Always

Is it true that Chungha came from the States?

A friend of a friend(Horse Fany's acquaintance actually) claims Chungha lived here in Dallas for almost 10 years or something like that. Supposedly, they still even have a place here or something like that and that she often visited when she could but apparently that stopped right around P101 happened.

That's pretty interesting if true. There's always been a significant Korean population here in Dallas, even before Californians migrated over here in the last few years, but I never thought somebody local would actually make it to the industry.

IU - Palette MV

The lyrics and video for this are great.

I'm in love with this song lol.

Tbh, I never really liked IU's past songs besides Sogyeokdong and The Shower so this is a surprise for me.

Then again, I'm down for anything R&B so it may not be a surprise lol.

Are you part of the "Dean wrote me a song so I hate him" club too?

Lolol.

Has anyone watched the latest Running Man yet? It's the one with the new members.

I watched their reveal and Somin seems like a great addition... she's not exactly scared of the original members but she's definitely new to variety still and more often than not, she looks sorta lost and awkward lol.

Sechan on the other hand is alright but I think I like him more than Sehyung... mostly because Sechan's character isn't annoying and childish like Sehyung.

But even from that, I feel like the new casts aren't necessarily gonna change the trajectory of RM... they'll just probably delay the inevitable imo. I plan to watch more of the ep this weekend though.

Speaking of variety, I've mentioned this before and I'll say it again, Unnies 2 is seriously amazing.

I finished up last weeks ep when they were recording the song and it was sorta of an enlightening moment for me... a lot of the comments and suggestions about singing from the PD's made so much sense to me. That comment about Kim Sook sounding salty is something I've heard before when I was studying music a few years ago so it was really fascinating to hear a similar comment from somebody on the other side of the world lol.

Then also seeing Yewon still have her classical training ingrained in her was such a cool moment even though it's a bad thing for this circumstance. When she started singing I Have a Lover, I started wondering who the fuck was cutting onions at midnight lol.

More importantly, watching Yewon and Chaeyoung get better at singing makes me feel proud for some reason. I dunno, I guess I just enjoy seeing the process coz I sorta experienced it myself and I guess I find it very relatable.

I was kinda mad about IU's album since she sounds the best when she composes her own music, but now that her one solo credited writing/composing track dominates the chart I feel a little better, plus it's a really good track with great lyrics playing off Twenty-three BRILLIANTLY - so now I'm probably ready to listen to the rest of the album because at least it's all IU's own words and she's doing magical things as a lyricist right now.

I've watched this since I recently became obsessed with Yeoreum. Seriously she's super cute damn... But back to the point! You summed up my thoughts about this segment. At first I thought it was fine, I even thought it was refreshing idea. In the latest episodes it did feel unhealthy though. But thinking about it, it's really not surprising that they might want to encourage this kind of behaviour if you admit that kpop groups basically feed off of obsessive fans. But yeah, it's rather creepy.

I thought maybe I was overreacting a bit... Glad it wasn't just me. Like you say, it's quite a refreshing idea but they take it way too far.

HIT THE PLAYBACK, HIT THE HIT THE PLAYBACK

Woo! Finally.

Some more teasers:

Please anticipate the return of Other Hayoung & Co.

Seriously, I couldn't identify Bona, SeolA, Soobin, Luda and Dawon
and Yeonjung lol
if I tried. (I have since learnt who Mei Qi is.)

Going by the preview and the theme they've set up, it feels like they're transitioning to a format similar to New Journey to the West. Travel to different locales, show off the sights, food and do some missions along the way. The new members are alright so far though, they'll probably give the other members a boost too.

Dingo Music "52 Questions" interview with IU. It's non-subbed, but she does say Oh My Girl is her favorite group at the moment ("All the members are so pretty and unique in their own way", and dances a little of "Coloring Book" at 1:35), and for the question of which singer she'd like to collaborate with in the future, she picked Black Pink's Rose.

Are you making a joke of them standing in a line because she seems to be trying when she's in front lol.
Oh god I'm obsessed with this song. Goddess Yebin's voice in the chorus is everything. Though sometimes her expressions just look pained during performance, which I don't know if it's genuine or her 'acting' out emotions.
One of the new members Jooeun is really pretty too, caught my eye in this performance at 1:15.

Laboum, Dreamcatcher, Oh My Girl, EXID, Pristin... Girl groups are really delivering this (and last) month.

I'm laughing at the amount of brazilian comments already.

If Don't Recall sounded like reggaeton, this is pure tecnobrega, a brazilian music genre. I'm loving all of this (except the MV's orientation).

Damn, this is good. KARD never seems to disappoint. The aspect ratio of this video annoys the hell out of me though. I hope we get a dance video at a normal ratio at least.

Are they going to be promoting this song, or will they not officially debut until they release their next single?

jongkokie with the fresh news :p

Hahaha. I never really paid attention to IOI before... and even now I only keep track of Sejeong, Somi and now Chungha lol.

Yeah, I think it's good that they're trying to change it up and I kinda hope they succeed at it but for now, I think they've got a long road ahead of them.

From Unnies 2

I'm glad this isn't that alternate universe.

i liked that duet

Yep, it's a legitimately good song.

Speaking of IU, that MV for Ending Scene is just an onion-fest.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeees, this sounds and looks so promising!!

1% - 힘들었지?
This is nice. Brand New Music is diversifying their sound a lot lately.

Love&Evil?! ViVi = sentient evil robot confirmed!

Joking aside, I'd love for this to be some dirrrty hip-hop track but it's probably just gonna be an orchestral pop song with dark imagery... but I'm super excited though. The whole dark imagery, evil-ish vibe from Dreamcatcher is oddly refreshing, so if someone else is willing to ape that style to make more... I'm definitely in.

That 1% song is really good too... so lush and dreamy.

I'm reserving my thoughts on this until a few more listens. It didn't really click for me except for the dance break after the chorus, so I'll give it a few more listens before handing out judgement.

One thing I will say though is fuck that aspect ratio bullshit.

Sweetune did it again!!. The verses are quite trendy glitch/trap/R&B, but the chorus is good ol' classic Sweetune. I need this group to make it big, they are making Infinite level of releases, better than Infinite.

This is so good! I like it better that Don't Recall already. But I need them to go back to bright and playful like Oh Nana (still the GOAT). I hope that for debut they have a physical album including all the tracks they have released so far, they have such a strong set of releases already.

My dream of Yoojung doing the rap on Very Very Very came true. This is now officially the new best version of the song obviously.

I hope the nugus they get paired with are good; Dodaeng don't deserve to be in a shitty group.

Those two are gold.
the dude is really good, too. lmao

These Loona girls man. I wish they'd stop the teasing already and just give us something concrete.

I stumbled upon this 1& girl recently. Quite pleasant stuff.

Oh, I hadn't checked any IU Palette performances, but it's a nice touch that she adapts and performs the rapping. It's also a nice touch the Good Day MV playing in the screen during that part of the song.

I need dance version already.

LABOUM(라붐)- "Hwi hwi(휘휘)" Performance ver. M/V
This song is so damn good. Everything works like clockwork. The choreo is a bit basic, but they are really hitting it hard in the live stages but it can barely be seen in this version (not a fan of this dance versions with close ups and so many cuts).

I know nobody cares about Lovelyz, but they will do some kind of travel show in Canada.

What are the big comebacks in May? Is iKon coming any time back soon?

Not at the level of a Twice comeback, but other releases worth mentioning are the last T-ara release before disbandment and Chungha's debut.

Also, LOONA's repackage.
Loona 1/3 repackage album "Love&Evil" will come in 2 versions: Version A (Limited Edition) and Version B (Normal Edition)
Tracklist:
Love&Evil
알 수 없는 비밀 (Sonatine)
비의 목소리 51db (Rain 51db)
지금, 좋아해 (Love&Live) Remix [Hidden Track]
The albums also come with the songs from the "Love&Live" album, as it's a repackage, so it's 8 songs total. "Sonatine" is the title song.

Well that took the song from pretty great to classic. Need an IU-only studio version. Not that G-Dragon is bad but the song didn't need him.

KARD bringing it yet again. Very curious to hear their actual debut after this, but I don't think it'll be drastically different in sound even if they consider these 'predebut' tracks to be a trilogy. I can't even choose a fave track from them, but I probably enjoy 'Don't recall' the most because of the the catty lyrics.

I like this too.

Teen Top's comeback has grown on me as well. Recommended to watch a performance because the choreo makes it. Whoever does their choreo (and Up10ion's) is always on point. The song is pretty much in line with all Brave Brothers tracks for Teen Top (most of their title tracks), but it still works.

I can let the wait slide this time because Hyukoh just put out what is currently my Album of the Year. Start to end, and through again, I'm really enjoying it.

Good thing I held back my thoughts... Rumor is an grade A certified bop!

I dunno where'd I'd rank it among KARD's songs but I think it might beat Don't Recall by an inch.
