Atlus Updates Person 5 streaming guidelines

Can I just take screenshots for posterity you goddamn dumbasses. Blocking PS4 features can't change anything. There's already full playthroughs on YT. Stop blocking people who just likes to take screencaps dammit.

Doesn't matter anymore...

SBF LP died horribly because of the initial guidelines. The fact they still have restrictions shows how tone deaf the people in charge are.

To be fair a 200 part Persona series probably would have been the deathknell for that channel

It's SO shitty that I can't even snap pictures with the share button in this game.

It looks so awesome and I can't save any of it.

That's hilarious considering no one on Twitch got banned for it. Bikeman finished the whole game and Dansgaming is in december already. That's how much they care about Atlus policy lmao

I was so curious to get to 7/7 and I did and it was like what

Seriously. And as I got closer, that date seemed even strange, since
something actually does happen on 7/9.

Maybe they didn't want people to see me cramming for exams.

Apparently they're not even enforcing the rules, people have been streaming past the previous date without any consequences. Twitch doesn't give a shit.

In their attempt to prevent people from spoiling the game for others, they themselves spoiled the moment when the final part of the game happens. uh..

That Shit Gets Real around November is effectively told to you right at the start, since the whole game up until that point is told from the framing of you being interrogated about what happened up until that date.

They went over how their policy was received and this is what they came up with?

Are they really that out of touch with reality? Wow.

All or nothing Atlus.
The fuckin Best Friends canceled their LP since they would never get to play the whole thing, this doesn't really change anything.

they beat omicron and only 25% of them died. They could do it.

One game that has not been spoiled and everyone are up in arms demanding streaming for a game where streaming makes very little sense, there is no skill involved, and the game is always essentially the same.

we’re now asking players to refrain from streaming or posting video past the end of the in-game date of 11/19

Does this mean they're only updating the date guideline and the other guidelines they posted still are in effect? No videos over 90 minutes, no boss fights after the first one, no "major story spoilers," etc?

Alright, that's a nice thing at least, a lot better than before. It shouldn't exist at all, but baby steps and all.

A guideline that really might've worked, if you wanted to keep spoilers at a minimum, is allow full streaming but say you can only title your video like

Right. But this isn't actually about spoilers, it's about Japanese execs wanting to control content and the western branch trying to do damage control as best as they can.

This, they don't care about the fans. They just want to control content when it's already out at the expense of the player.

Still mad there won't be a SBF LP.

Well thanks for that spoiler, Atlus. I set aside the game for Rain World and have only made it into July. :/

This is somehow even more ridiculous than the initial post? They're shocked people didn't support this initially (lol okay) so they'll going to respond to the complaints.... by not really doing anything. Cool?

And honestly I'm sure the reason why nobody's actually had any consequences for breaking the rules is because nobody at Atlus USA has any desire to actually enforce that shit, they just have to say it because the suits at the Japanese side demanded it be said.

Fuck, I just got to 10/30. And this was after itching to get to 7/7. I'm pretty sure they are watching me and this is a carrot-on-a-stick situation.

I didn't even personally care about the streaming, but I was straight up disappointed that I don't have screenshots of my trophies. I like going back through pivotal moments in the game and reminiscing. :/

Why leave out this small beginning part from the article?

" When Persona 5 launched, we put out a set of video/streaming guidelines that we hoped would limit online spoilers for fans who have yet to play the game. "

You mean the part that was utter bullshit? :p

Hey, they just spoiled when the final act of the game takes place. Shock!
I wish they'd revert their implementation of share feature blocking, that would be nice.

My cousin likes watching these games with me since he can't afford new stuff all the time with college. It bummed me out we couldn't share the experience.

I have yet to see any major "enforcement" from Atlus either, there's plenty of LP vids posted on Youtube from the US release that violate several (if not all) of the initial guidelines set.

The biggest streaming name who streamed this (dansgaming) streamed the ENTIRE game.

Nobody has gotten a takedown notice as far as I can see.
