The latest issue is really great because it is mostly abstract cosmic shit.
But the preview from the next issue looks like dogshit.
Nothing will top Kenneth Rocafort's art from the first "season" though.

it really is. I love that someone actually bothered to explain the "why are random celestials showing up in civil war II" plot point.
Ultimates is doing amazing things with the cosmic tier, i hope we end up with an Ultimates 3 after Secret Empire. Troubleshooters are pretty interesting as well- it's pretty damned rare to see a pack of psi talent that strong outside of the Xbooks.

New Superman is the only one of those books I still read.

I like Superwoman, love New Superman and dropped Supergirl after the second issue. However the last issue of Supergirl was pretty good. Only read it because of Reborn but I'm tempts to get the next issue.
Supergirl is... alright. The art is stylish and I really love the voice for Kara, but the initial plotline dragged on way too long and the supporting cast is pretty meh.
In general though, the Superman lineup is awesome. Superman and New Super-Man get all the praise they deserve, Action Comics really turned it around after that sucky Doomsday opener, and Super Sons is off to a great start. Supergirl and Superwoman are the worst of them, but neither is really bad, just forgettable.
Superman hasn't been in a good place for a while now - I think the Rebirth bump hit him stronger than anyone.

Have any of you guys seen this Thanos statue from Diamond's new Premiere statue line? I like it even more than that $300 one that Kotobukiya put out last Fall.

Scarlet Spider #1: This has strong hints of Peter David's Captain Marvel run, with a former hero who has clearly fallen off and lost everything, including his mind. That was a bit more existential of a run, but this is much the same, with Ben doing his best to convince himself that he's still a hero on the surface, while mostly do the things villains do. Panel 1, Panel 2
Action Comics #978: So... uh. Is everything just back now? Superman's new history is his pre-Flashpoint history, up until Lois got pregnant at some point. This is where we slot in the New 52 costumes for the Trinity and Clark/Lois decide to roll out of Metropolis for Jon's birth. Then we shove in the Lois & Clark run, followed by the Geoff Johns New 52 run of Superman and the adjoining Action Comics run. It's very, very weird what DC is doing here. Panel 1, Panel 2
Flash #21: Like Action Comics, the most interesting thing that's happening here is the return of old continuity. Unlike that book, these are subtle hints of past Justice League adventures that shouldn't have happened in the New 52/Rebirth timeline. The Worlogog and White Martian costumes, notably from the Morrison/Porter run of the book, which is cool given Porter is the artist here. Panel 1, Panel 2.
Blue Beetle #8: This is what I'm talking about. Like Nova, this shared mentor Legacy book is a great idea. I am 100 percent down for what Giffen is doing here,

Aww, what am I missing out on? I didn't know this was one of *those* books. Pretty Deadly neglected to include a written prose thing that ran in the back of the first series that explained the origins of two of the characters in the book haha. I mean, the characters in question are basically tricksters so it isn't too important why they do what they do, but it's like eh. Thankfully they collected it for volume 2. For me it's just like, I'm literally never going to pick up the monthly, exclusive back matter or not, so it's just a pure punishment, despite all the money I might spend to support a creator or a publisher etc (not really sure where these ideas originate from).
This Scarlet Spider idea sounds kind of hilarious. I'm not really big into David's writing or Bagley's art tbh but that's quite a cool idea. My prime preteen spiderman reading years landed bang on the UK reprinting the Reilly years so I have a weird affinity for him. It would be funny if he tried to go back and work at the daily grind.

It was a theme in Hopeless' All-New X-Men that almost made me keep reading that the O5 were just falling into the same shit that their predecessors did, and in the case of Beast, he was just taking everything into his own hands, saying it's for the greater good, but in reality it was to satisfy his own curiosities.
