After Peace Walker and MGSV, I gave up on Kojima writing a good story anymore.
Not alone though ?
Nah PW was good story wise and MGSV has incomplete story

I have a bad feeling about this one.
No lies detected.I wouldn't go so far as genius, but he simply makes very, very good games, time after time.
Personally I'd say Snatcher is his best work. Policenauts is a little overrated but it's a solid game. The MGS series varies wildly, but they're all great nonetheless.
Death Stranding in general.
Makes it all the more hilarious Playstation announced this game already when we won't see it this side of this decade
Kojima is unshackled, unleashed in its full potential, it's going to be as cringey as it gets.
I see nothing there that stands out. Is it the use of high profile actors?
If he succeeds, it's going to be unmissable.
If he fails, it's going to be unmissable.
For better or worse, what gamer can afford to overlook Kojima going full batshit insane with a killer budget?
As others have pointed out, he's 100% bought into the cult of Kojima, and when an artist pursues that route, it often ends in disaster. It's one of the reasons I'd have preferred him to go with a different partner than Sony, because they're only going to encourage him. Even though he's no longer a part of MGS, he's still promoting his work with all the pomp, fanfare and self-indulgent tease of that series. He's replaced MGS with himself, which is fair to a point, but the potential for all his excesses displayed during the last 20 years or so to go supernova is real.
Still, like I said, I wouldn't miss whatever he has up his sleeve for the world.
I will never understand how this man is considered a genius. I mean, he used to make great games but his efforts since MGS3 fell short in a lot of aspects.
Also, it's "quirkiness" with stuff like Quiet is embarrassing and the most it gets are some laughs. Why?
I hope this game won't be the last from this studio because of Kojima's continued expensive production
he's with sony now. running overbudget shouldn't be much of an issue
Please don't be cringey.
I'm sorry but this made me laugh. Taro only has 1 commercial hit. Hideo has been making hits for years. I'm a Taro fan but for you think this doesn't make sense, and sounds like bandwagon hopping to me. If anything it should be the other way around.Hideo please just call Yoko Taro and ask for advice
Doubtful.
Konami can get fucked, but I have no doubt that after 5+ years and still not delivering they were more than done with Kojima.
I mean, his twitter feed is insane. All he does is travel the world, goes to see expositions, watches movies, meets other devs. His office is crazy luxurious. Expensive clothes and gadgets.
If he goes on living like a rockstar for another 5 years [like he did during MGSV production] I'm pretty sure someone over at Sony would step in and ask him to deliver a videogame at some point in the near future.
Kojima wanted people to first see him without any clothes on so they could later see his transformation as different clothes, equipment, and hairstyles are added.
Doubtful.

Eh, I'd rather not have my creators pander with the image they want to maintain.I hope the Xeno director, Souls director, and Nier director never become like this.
gah, this guy. on the one hand he directed metal gear solid 2 but on the other i just, ehhh.
It's funny that a lot of people last around MGS2 release said Kojima should just direct a movie.
Hm, not sure I would really agree with MGS2 as an example. I say this because it was a game completely built around subverting and commenting on people's expectations, up to and including its marketing and media coverage. The final Codec conversation by itself was exceptional, and far better than anything else that Kojima had to say in the games he directed afterward. Convoluted, yes, contrived, no."Mario has convulted plot contrivances."
- The dude who wrote the end of MGS 2.
I would argue that Takahashi became that way back during Xenosaga (I'm almost convinced that Xenoblade was a fluke at this point).I hope the Xeno director, Souls director, and Nier director never become like this.
at least he doesn't breath through his skin
He breathes through his skin.
Why would the guy who's made countless hits, one of the greatest video game franchises with 3 games that are often talked about as the 3 of the best games of all time, need advice from a talented, albeit far more niche, director who has made 1 game that is even thought of as noteworthy. I enjoyed Nier: Automata, but it doesn't come close to being as great as any game in the Metal Gear franchise.Hideo please just call Yoko Taro and ask for advice

It's GAF thread on Kojima, this is what's to expect. Quintessential " I don't like....."I see it's a bash Kojina thread...
I swear, anti-kojima posters all live in their own fantasy world. In no way was MGSV some kind of failure.
1000 times this.MGSV was the highest rated and one of the best selling games of 2015. How exactly did he not deliver for Konami?

It will likely be done by 2020 but I fear it'll be in the same situation as MGSV and end up as a cross gen title.
