Neo Geo games coming to Nintendo Switch

Are there any sites akin to HG101 or Sega Retro that focus on the Neo? I know about Neo-Geo.com, but that seems more focused on collectors and not necessarily players, if that makes sense.

Have they released more games after that first wave around (at?) launch? What NeoGeo games are available now?

They have been releasing games every week since launch.

It's been glorious.

I don't have a list handy but I am sure someone does.

Yeah, these Neo Geo releases are seriously the best thing. I've bought most of them (skipped a few fighters because there are a LOT of those). I hope so hard that they continue to release them at this rate. As someone who had never touched Neo Geo anything until the Switch, it's growing to be a favorite of mine. I even went as far as looking into starting a collection of legit Neo Geo stuff...Saw the prices and gave that a big nope!

Bring it on, Switch!

Oh lord, seriously? That makes me so excited.

Edit: If anyone has that list I would appreciate it. I don't have a Switch and finding what's on the store is weirdly difficult.

Taken from a couple of pages back.

Missing Blazing Star.

I think Garou is this week?

I love Mark of the Wolves, but I am going to need a better input solution before I buy any 2D fighting games on the Switch. The joy-con directional buttons are unwieldy and the d-pad on the pro controller is trash.

Any word on when that Hori controller is supposed to come out?

How so? Can you decribe this "off"ness, as this is the first I've heard of it.

The Vita version (which is crossbuy with PS4) is pretty awesome (except online apparently), and you get to use the Vita dpad. I've been thinking of picking up the Switch version anyway, but I've really been enjoying it on Vita and will probably continue to play it there just for the better form factor (in this case).

Input delay. This is a known issue, google it. Unless it's limited to PS4 for some reason... Wouldn't know because yuck on the vita dpad for this kind of game. I consider it the best dpad ever made but it's horrible for arcade stuff, Last Blade 2 was torture enough. Saturn/genesis style or bust for this kind of stuff, personally.

Seems accurate for a game costing $200. It's not above and beyond any good 16 bit shooter, graphics aside.

I agree.
One thing I cannot forgive Last Resort is the fact that you have to start at a certain point again once you die. some sort of a check point system which really sucks ass. especially for a unforgiving game like Last Resort

From what I understand, input delay was indeed only ever an issue on PS4 (and I seem to recall it being improved with a patch, though I could be mistaken). As for the Vita dpad, it remains the best dpad available on a current system, only challenged by the Wii U Pro Controller—which is technically no longer current. It is certainly (unfortunately) a better option than anything available on the Switch. If I were playing any fighting game seriously, I'd be using my arcade stick, but on the go it doesn't really get much better than Vita for fighting games.

With that said, I'm still excited to play Garou on my Switch later this week, and I look forward to continuing to build a fighting game collection. In a perfect world Nintendo would start releasing specialized Joycons sooner rather than later, including a left controller with a perfect dpad, and a controller for STGs that can be used to hold the Switch vertically for tate mode.

I genuinely don't get this... Again, I think the vita dpad is absolutely wonderful and umatched for traditional gaming, but for fighting games? Ugh, literally the worst I've ever experienced. I'll take an analog stick over it, that's how horrible it is for me. Stick/saturn style pad>Classic controller>PS4 pad>360/XBone pad>PS1/2/3 pad>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Vita. Don't have any fighting games at all for my Wii U/64/GC so I can't count those but I'd imagine the Pro and the 64 pad would be great for them.

I've been playing Last Blade 2 for over 15 years and I couldn't do anything reliably on the Vita to save my life. Couldn't get any special or super out consistently, ever. Was slightly better using the analog but not by much...
If garou has no issues on vita I gotta get on that asap, though, regardless of issues.

I guess I cut my teeth playing Street Fighter II on SNES, so that style of dpad is just familiar. I can pull of pretty much anything without error, barring perhaps stuff like Zangief's full circle motions. I could never play a fighting game on an analog stick—the combination of using a thumb and not having limited directionality makes it very difficult for me to reliably pull off moves. I can, however, understand the love for the looseness of the Saturn style pad, as it does really help with flow in fighting games (and is a lot less painful on the thumb after long sessions). Hopefully the Switch gets some additional controller options soon. I've been thinking about picking up the pro controller, but I've literally never docked my Switch unit yet, so I'm not sure it'd be worth it. Plus, I've heard that the dpad isn't that great which is a huge disappointment coming from Nintendo. I wish SNK would do another run of those limited edition USB Neo Geo pads with the clicky sticks.

Those who are familiar with Shock Troopers: is there any slight slow down? There were some in the Wii version but I'm only familiar with the arcade version of 2.

Just bought Shock Troopers, haven't seen any slow down so far in my brief playtime.

The shooting controls take some getting used to but man it's a fun varied game!

Well I got Garou, looks and plays great as expected, but the Switch port really doesn't like this stage with the animated background-

It stutters and cycles incorrectly which is odd because the exact same technique is used in Blazing Star and the Switch runs it super-smoothly with no problems. Patch incoming hopefully.

I'm interested in Garou. Has other Neo Geo Switch games been patched? Just wants to know if there's a precedent.

There was a big patch about a week after launch that fixed issues, including incorrect coloring. I think I've seen my other Neo Geo games get updates after that. Hamster will definitely fix a problem if they find it.

So far, I've bought Shock Troopers, Blazing Star, and Alpha Mission 2. I'm thinking I may go for one of the Metal Slug games. Which one do you all recommend? I'm leaning towards 3.

Ms3 is good but the final stage is ridiculouslye long
Grab metal slug 1,2 and/or x
Get nam-1975 too, pretty neat shooter
