Dark Souls III |OT+2| Why Can't We Poise the Game?

I never summon so I'm definitely not an expert, but I don't think anything you do in an area can affect summoning in other areas.

Ringing the bell will just send Hawkwood home, you could still summon human players for the boss. Your other areas are fine.

Hawkwood was blocking summons, go back and it should be fine.
Also, check near the bonfire as well as right near the fog gate for summon signs.;

I'll give this a try. I tried to summon people yesterday. I am able to be summoned into people's games, but I don't see any summon signs in my game. They're not appearing at the bonfire or at the fog gate. I'm not soft-banned either and only like SL 65. I'm not sure what's up.

Edit: Got 'em finally. Summon signs were really rare for me, but I found one guy to help out.

to be the most difficult boss in the main game? It's the only fight that consistently gives me trouble across my playthroughs...

I started a new play through today on PC and grabbed the watchdog covenant. The number of people disconnecting is astounding. It get a summon prompt like once every 5-10 mins, but almost every time the person disconnects. I don't think it was ever that bad with Dark Souls 1+2. Is there a reason for this? Are hackers way more prevalent now?

I need help, Dark Souls Gaf.

I use my XB1 Controller for DS3 (gave away my 360 one when I got an XB1 like 2 years ago), and whether I used it wired, or with the wireless adapter, I occasionally get 2-3 second stutters in game, usually in pairs. So *2-3 sec freeze* movement for 1 sec *2-3 sec freeze* etc, then nothing for about half an hour or so.

It's not any auto-save related hitching because it has a wonderful tendency to occur in boss battles when I'm mid dodge-roll (it's not exclusively in boss fights, just naturally its where I notice it the most), and I'm pretty sure it's not to do with my specs (5820k, 16gb Ram. 980Ti etc etc) and DS3 is installed on my SSD...

Now some solutions I saw online were for people using 360 Controller but basically related to either doing a device driver rollback to 2009 (naturally there wasn't one for the XB1 controller on my PC, earliest I could find was 2014), or see if there were multiple XB1 Controllers listed in Device Manager. There we no duplicates.

I wouldn't describe it as a game breaking issue, but it is of supreme annoyance. I don't get the issue with DS1 or DS2, so I'm kinda inclined to think it's something about how DS3 interacts with controllers? I kinda hope I'm not shit out of luck :/

Also yes, Great Soul Dregs make a mockery of some bosses and seem to travel for days.

No idea if this will help you at all, but I always need to go into Device Manager and disable HID Game Controller each time to get my Xbox One controller to be seen by Dark Souls. I only ever need to do it for the Dark Souls games, which is annoying. Hopefully this may help your issue? Also do you have anything like xmapper or motionjoy running / enabled for your dualshock 3 controller? That could be causing a conflict.

No xmapper etc stuff, and no other HID Game Controller appears in Device Manager...it's a really weird issue. I did Irithyl Dungeon with K&M to see if it was 100% a controller issue and there was no stuttering etc at all....

I agree. She has such deceptive timings on her attacks. I'm much more confident against every other boss, DLC included.

There should be only one HID Game Controller option. Try temporarily disabling that to see if it fixes your issue. I need to do it every time I run any Dark Souls game with my Xbox One pad. Which is a pain, but it works, and seems to be a common-ish issue.

how do ppl manage to be so underleveled? That is your problem i would guess. People are just not putting down their sign at NK with that level.
I was level 103 when i beat NK and I saw lots of signs. without farming or excessive helping with bosses.

I played a sorcerer which more or less trivializes that fight. If you have any way to do decent ranged damage, I'd recommend that if you want to make it easier.

Hi everyone. Blue Blades of the Darkmoon Sentinels should be cyan in co-op. That's all I have to say about this video game right now.

Sad they are nerfing the rotation on the R1 for the Paired Greatsword but reduced stamina consumption and increased attack is HAHAHAHAHAHA!

They nerf the dragonslayer spear but buff the damage and stamina of that fucking thing. Bravo, From.

So I'm doing the Ashes of Ariandel DLC and why are these stupid bird monsters screams so loud..... Those damn trees scream loud to, like it's really disproportionately loud compared to other sound effects.

I wish From would tone this down a bit cause I remember them doing it Bloodborne to. I'm okay with a loud scream but I really don't wanna hear it 30 times in a row.

Ring of Favour +3, Prisoner's Chain, and the Ring of Steel Protection +3 (yes, I know it gets nerfed a bit in PvP) allows for some ridiculous heavy armour usage on low level builds. I redid my SL35 scumbag and now he's as tanky as ever:

Nearly 40% average physical absorption? Don't mind if I do!

Just got this on PC. Why does character movement look weirdly stuttery? Same as Dragon's Dogma, rotating your character almost looks as though it's stuck at 30fps while everything else is 60fps.

For what it's worth, the game doesn't hold 60 FPS on my 980ti, so it could be stuttering. Otherwise, it also could be the increased player speed not having the speed of animations compensated properly.

Afterburner shows 60fps, and the camera movement is completely smooth. It's just the movement rotations that look off. Running on a 970 at max.

Finally getting back to this game after completing it once when it launched. I was not a fan when I played it the first time in fact it was my least favorite of the series, but this 2nd playthrough I am finding it far more enjoyable. I don't like that a few NPC quests lock out other things for a playthrough, but since you have to finish it 3 times for the Plat anyway, oh well.

Beat the DLC yesterday.

That final boss fight was certainly no joke (this is NG+5 on my Onikiri Luck/Bleed character). But it was at least an honest fight unlike that dragon fight which was just hitbox Dark Souls at its worst.

Sup guys, bought DS3 last week and I've been blasting my way through it. Just finished beating Nameless King (!!!) and I'm wondering if I should do the DLC before putting down Prince Lothric's cinders? Assuming of course that the game doesn't just pop you into NG+ at the end like DS1 did.

After you beat the final boss, you can pick to do ng+ or remain in ng.

So noob question here, but what benefits are their with infusing with sharp/heavy/refined gems? I went through the whole game upgrading a Zweihander with titanite, but would I get better damage output by infusing?

They give better scaling on their respective stats, and lower scaling on others. So if you're going for a pure DEX build for example, it's usually beneficial to go for a sharp upgrade.

Worthwile doing, but by no means mandatory.
