Chris Cornell (Audioslave, Soundgarden) has died

Man, what awful news. As a huge RATM fan, I gravitated towards Audisolave after the breakup and really loved their music. Never really got into Soundgarden but Cornell was such a talent, real shame to go so young. Definitely throwing on Audioslave today.

Damn.... that is horrible news! Soundgarden had a huge influence on me, as did Audiosalave.

Scott Weiland I was sad but was not super unexpected, but this, this one sucks.

Rip man, one of the greatest voices in the biz.

I can't believe this. Loved his Soundgarden, Audioslave and even his solo work.
Biggest regret I'll have will be to not have gone to their concert, Soundgarden was here in Tampa just a few weeks ago...fuck :(

This news is breaking my heart- "You Know My Name" has been my favorite Bond theme for a little over a decade now. Not to mention his Soundgarden material too.

Been busy this morning and this is the first thing i see on NeoGAF :(
I'm old so i've been a fan of Soundgarden since they started and this is surreal. Damn, i was only listening to Temple of The Dog a few days ago and it's still a phenomenal album. Time to dig out my old CDs and give them another spin.

Just listened to some of his solo work last weekend. Grew up listening to Soundgarden and enjoyed Audioslave as well---amazingly unique voice

This was awful news to wake up to this morning. Chris and Eddie Vedder were/are some of my biggest rock idols. Someone get Eddie to a doctor for a check up STAT! Such a sad day though. Chris seemed to look really well for his age too. Looks like to me an OD on drugs perhaps? I didn't think he was doing that shit these days .

Horrible news. He has always been an important part of my life. Loved his music and always felt that he was a rare talent in the music industry. Felt his lyrics had something to say and you could tell there was passion when he sang.

Saw Audioslave in Concert twice in highschool but never saw Soundgarden or him solo.

Holy shit. Just saw Soundgarden on the 3rd and they were amazing. So sad. Another huge talent that I've been a fan of since my youth gone far too soon. :(

A profound loss. He's one of the best vocalists of the past 50+ years and Soundgarden is an alternative rock juggarnaut. His talents and contributions won't be forgotten. RIP.

Shocked to hear it. Honestly never really listened to Audioslave or Soundgarden but liked the few bits if his solo stuff and You Know My Name is ny favourite Bond theme. He has such a distinctive voice. Thoughts are with his family. Rest in piece Chris.
