Nintendo E3 plans detailed

Not saying it won't happen, but I really wouldn't set expectations of BGE2 being an exclusive for Switch (or any platform).
I don't think anybody believes it's exclusive or we're even going to see it this year. It can show up next year. The Pokémon Stars, Smash and Pikmin are much more believable. Even the Xenoblade X port is ehhhh.

June - ARMS
July - Splatoon 2
August - Mario + Rabbid: Kingdom Battle
September - Fire Emblem Warriors, Super Smash Bros. Deluxe
October - Pokemon Stars
November - Super Mario Odyssey
December - Xenoblade Chronicles 2

I can't help but feel like expectations are getting too high (including for myself). This is what happened with the big switch announcement and it led to a lot of disappointment. Smash, Pokemon, pikmin etc are all just rumours at this point.

Hopefully they have some massive announcements but I'm trying to temper my expectations.

So it seems we have a good grasp of what the direct will cover.
- Super Mario Odyssey (November?)
- ARMS (June)
- Splatoon 2 (July)
- Mario + Rabbids (September)
- Zelda DLC (December)
- Xenoblade 2
- Fire Emblem Warriors

That's a monthly game schedule for the rest of the year. It seems unlikely that we will get a surprise announcement but hopefully they will announce something for early 2018 (I would assume Smash or Pikmin or Retro's game)

I think the Xenoblade X port was mistaken for Xenoblade 2, imo. I also see Smash, Pikmin, Mario Maker, and B&GE2 being 2018 titles. I think Smash Deluxe will be an early 2018 title.

Eurogamer thinks the Pokemon rumor is real though fortunately. Pikmin can go either way.

Guess I'll join in the speculative fun.

July - Splatoon 2
August - Mario & Rabbids Kingdom Battle
September or October - FE Warriors
November - Super Mario Odyssey
December: Xenoblade Chronicles 2

The month that doesn't get FE Warriors might be a nothing month like May is currently

Pikmin doesn't have to be E3 and I don't think Smash has to be at E3 either only if it's coming in 2018. I look at it at what games must be at E3. What games would truly deserve E3 and that's Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Retros game. The only reason I say Smash doesn't have to be at E3 is because if it's a port and releasing in 2018 they may feel everyone will buy it anyways without E3.

It is silly to expect everything to be at E3. Nintendo isn't shy to use July or even the end of June to announce stuff. Expect a good showing of 2017 software and maybe some early 2018 stuff from Nintendo, and hope third-parties bring quality support in terms of new announcements.

Unless they have some big 3rd party exclusive that month I doubt they leave a Fall month empty, it will be an unannounced game

Really my expectations are just that we will see Mario, FE Warriors, Xenoblade, and maybe a surprise.

If anything wishful I want to see Metroid by even if it isn't shown I'd imagine I wouldn't be disappointed from the showcase.

LA Noire & Mario x Rabbids (an exclusive) are slated for potential September releases. Though I agree with folks saying Smash 4 could be Sept/Oct because I think Nintendo needs a major online game to help them launch their online service and Smash would be the best title for that.

Plus, Mario Odyssey is a massive game in its own right, but Nintendo needs more than Mario, FE:W, and Xenoblade 2 to carry Switch this holiday.

The LA Noire port is still happening? Is it a remaster also being released on other consoles? It seems like an awful "test the waters" 3rd party game for the Switch.

June - Arms
July - Splatoon 2
August - Mario+Rabbids : kingdom battle
September - FE Warrios

December - Xenoblade Chronicles 2

With early 2018 having games like Pikmin 4, Retro's New Game, Smash 4 Deluxe, Animal Crossing, Mario Maker Switch, etc

...I totally forgot L.A. Noire is coming.

I agree with Dark Cloud that Skyrim is going to get attention from Nintendo, and I'm guessing we'll see it at E3. Hopefully it offers something new. I think FIFA and NBA 2K18 could also get attention.

I think the ideal schedule for Nintendo is to have at least one first party title each month through the end of this year, and then around the holiday rush (September through November), having 2-3 major titles each month including 3rd party releases and not including their digital-only offerings. If they do that, I think they'll close out the year very strongly.

This is my speculation for rest of 2017

I agree that the first half of 2018 is going to be when we see the remainder of the Wii U ports and close sequels like Smash and Mario Maker.

I don't see Smash releasing along with Mario Kart, ARMS and Splatoon within a 6 month span.

It is coming to other platforms. Not just Switch. So in no way will it be a "test" release.
Oh I see. This is the kind of 3rd party support I'd like to see more of. There are some remasters I desperately want on the Switch, but LA Noire ain't one of them. Cool nonetheless.

I don't really understand why. Nintendo should want the line-up this year to be as strong as possible. They still have plenty of franchises for next year and hopefully by then 3rd parties should be on board.

4 MP games for the first year of the platform is hardly overkill (especially when they're all so different).

My stance for the BG&E2 thing is that I don't think it's going to be timed exclusive/exclusive and if it's not then don't expect it on Switch.
Just don't see it happening, tbh.
If Skyrim is shown...lmao
They're probably going to show it off, unfortunately. Still no clue why it lacks a release date. Might be a good Treehouse live segment but they're probably going to show it on the main show because of course

How many minutes of the spotlight video will nintendo spend talking about arms?

"Next is..."
(Everybody expects something exciting)
"...ARMS. Again."

It seems like you have a problem with ARMS lol.

Like I only expect a trailer to show off new dlc and the tournament.

Edit: I hope they reveal a new Animal Crossing.

As boring as a Skyrim port sounds at the moment, I'm sure there's a fairly big audience that would play portable Skyrim and go bananas for it!

Yeah, it's probably going to be a pretty big release for the platform. Should move at least a couple million units.

Skyrim is one of the best selling RPGs of all time. I can easily see people losing their shit for a portable Skyrim.

My main interest is that if it sells really well, maybe we will get more Bethesda games from their back catalogue and/or future releases.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
June - Arms
July - Splatoon 2
August - Mario & Rabbids Adventure
September - Super Smash Bros. Deluxe
October - Pikmin 4
November - Super Mario Odyssey
December - Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Throw in a casual game like Mario Sports or w/e. Maybe Fire Emblem Warriors?

Line up would be nuts.

Fire Emblem Warriors is already confirmed for this Fall (September / October IMHO), while the Mario Sports game could be the next Mario & Sonic @ Winter Games title: it's something many people tend to forget, but early 2018 (actually, starting from February 9th, 2018) is when Pyeonchang Winter Olympics will take place, thus we should get our bi-yearly dose of M&S extravaganza, unless some details changed in the Nintendo/SEGA x CIO contract or they decided to skip the Winter Olympics to focus their resources on the one about Tokyo Olympic Games.

Re: L.A. Noire: I was actually going to ask to NateDrake if anything changed in the past few months, it seems they stayed the same. I wonder when it'll be announced, then, since Take Two recently stated they won't show any "new products" at E3, and the game's supposed to come out in August / September. Unless it got delayed, it should be announced before E3 or at E3, but at one of the conferences...I don't know, certainly there's not much time left for it if we assume the rumoured release date stands.

Can we get some announcement for Virtual Console please. I need my Metroid Prime on the move Nintendo. What are the chances of announcing VC in the E3 direct you think?

Since we're doing speculative list, here goes:

June - ARMS
July - Splatoon 2
August - Mario x Rabbids
September - Pokémon Stars
October - FE Warriors (it was slated for fall, after all)
November - Super Mario Odyssey
December - Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Not sure about Stars and a potential Smash Bros game. I think one of the two will launch next year and the other in September of this year. I hope Stars is this September, though.

I still expect one (smaller) unannounced title that we didn't hear from or expect for Q4 2017

I have the idea they don't have any "casual casual" game at the moment, something to follow up 1-2 switch.

Rumoured for a remake for all current gen systems including switch late summer.

If they go to town with HD rumble , motion control options and a bunch of Zelda mods built-in..then it could do well. A straight port..probably not so much.

Beside the great line-up for this year I somehow totally missed that L.A. Noire Remaster is a thing. DAAAAMMMNN! Ever wanted to play this back on PS3/360, but somehow missed it. If this is true I couldn't be more excited about it! Will get this for Switch D1!

As long as the port is competent, I don't think it needs any special features to be a success. It's portable Skyrim.

The Animal Crossing mobile App is scheduled for this Fall...it would make sense to believe that they will be launching it alongside the console game. So I bet that the big surprise will be Animal Crossing Switch for this Fall. I know part of the team behind it is working on Splatoon 2 but...

Eh. I don't see it. Animal Crossing is a huge IP on its own. I think 2018 makes more sense for it.
