New Spider-Man Homecoming poster

dalabfoxyaaft2vpmsib.jpg

Already posted it in the horrible photoshop thread but thought more might want to see it.

I was just about to ask whether we really need a new thread for every new poster or pic of every upcoming popcorn movie.

Actually seeing it now...yes. Yes we do.

These types of posters are typically horrible.

The last poster (the one with Spidey in the yellow jacket) was way better.

This looks like a totally generic MCU poster. Weak.

Although it is hilarious how prominently Iron Man/Tony Stark is featured on the poster.

I like RDJ's Iron-Man/Stark a lot, but he's a bit too visible on that poster, doesn't look like a Spider-Man movie at all (it's more like "the adventures of Iron Man with a looming Darth Vader Spider-Man silhouette in the background)

The fact that Iron Man is so prominent on that poster seems stupid, but you know what? I think it's a marketing necessity.

Average moviegoers won't necessarily know that this is an MCU connected film rather than another crappy ASM.

Gotta slap Robert on that poster to get people interested, even if hes only in it for (Im guessing) 5-10 minutes...oh hey throw the Iron man Suit in there for good measure.

Not enough Iron Man.

Please remove giant Spider-Man and turn Peter into another sad Tony Stark staring into the middle distance.

I doubt average movie goers even know what the MCU is.

I'll try not to repeat myself from the trailer thread, but aside from being another floating head style poster that you've come to expect from tent pole films it doesn't even manage to be a good version of those. It's a poster depicting such a vast scattershot representation of the movie (remember Tony Stark AND Iron Man are in this) and lacks visual cohesion or flair beyond the use of bright colours.

It's just a big step down from the teasers and does a disservice to the film that they've got.

It's pretty awful. But eh. Great posters are a more rare occurrence than shit ones now

I really liked that Wonder Woman tank one though. Superhero posters should aim for iconic imagery. Not this crap
