Pretty much.
Especially when he have multiple posters literally saying "give me graphics over framerate anyday" in threads about huge new releases.
ummm. what?If you're primarily a PC gamer, why do you care? 60 hasn't been a standard on PC until fairly recently.
it's actually not that hard to believe when you think about it.
also, since you're coming from PC, what difference does it make? multi plat games are almost always a PC purchase for you, if you're anything like me.
Maybe next gent
Ding ding ding.If the consoles had a 1080 Ti equivalent GPU, devs would still make 30fps games that just look way prettier.
I've been wondering: does a difference in frame-rate really affect game-play? In an action game, does a 60fps rendered animation of a 0.2sec punch differ from a 30fps one?
I feel this 60fps requirement is just a myth.
It's actually the complete opposite. Smoother frame rate is more relaxing for the eyes.60 fps is too tiring on the eyes

Maybe next gen, 4K sells more than 60fps on the mass market
I don't care about 60FPS on consoles. I have a PC with a GTX1080ti for that.
If ND and Guerilla can make some of the most beautiful looking games on console, and the fps is smooth, I'm content.
30 fps is more cinematic
60 fps is too tiring on the eyes
At some point people Are gonna have to accept, Many Consoles gamers don't even know what Framerate means Let alone care about it. Hell I didn't even know what it meant until I joined Gaf.
Very few people give a fuck, myself included. I play games to have fun, not to beancount and act like a giant asshole about inconsequential aspects I have no direct control over. People need to stop fetishizing this bullshit.
Whatever power console developers get, they will use it towards resolution and graphic effects on the FPS's expense
I do think that we'll eventually see a move to more 60fps games not so much due to wanting a higher standard but to prevent dev times from bloating even more due to a long asset creation process.
Most racing games on PS2/GC/OG XBOX were 60fps.Ridge Racer 7, a PS3 launch game, was 60 fps and 1080p.
Good times.
This is exactly one of those threads that pops up every console generation and mid generation. The want for the 60fps standard is very understandable by those who have experienced and are used to it. It's just not probable or realistic imo. You'll be saying the same thing about 2027, OP.
