Skullgirls now out on mobile

Been messing around with the soft launch for about a week. It's really impressive in terms of how much of the home version's presentation they managed to retain. Controls really nicely, too.

Asking as a total Skullgirls layman.

Isn't this a fairly complex / difficult fighter? How is this translating to touchscreen controls and still maintaining its gameplay integrity?

Is out for mobile...or just tablets? It only allowed me to download it to my Lenovo 2 tablet. Out of all the cellphone in my list, none are compatible (LG3, Samsung J7, Galaxy 5 and ZMAX) O_O I don't have some of this cellphone anymore, they are still in my list and for apps compatible I can select them, for this one only Lenovo tablet is an option.

Stupid question: Is it playable offline? I'm more likely to play mobile games on my commutes, but that involves underground trains where the signal is obviously not the best.

It was completely reworked for touch controls so gameplay is pretty different from the Console\PC version

I'm on iOS so it's definitely not the same, but I can play it on my iPhone 6S.

It seems to require an Internet connection. Gave it a try while turning off data & WiFi and I can't enter the game.

Hopefully, this will help give Lab Zero the monies they need for whatever excellence they've got cooking, for Indivisble and beyond.

Was worried I was finally being pushed to abandon my S5, but I guess Android phones in general are locked out of installing this one. Ah, well. Hopefully they address this eventually.

What are the controls like?
Swipe forward to dash into your opponent, swipe back to dash away. Tap to initiate an auto-combo, hold a finger down to block, swipe down to sweep, swipe up to use a launcher, if you start tapping after you use a launcher your character automatically jumps out and starts an air combo. Two-fingered swipe up to throw (can just be your thumbs on either side of the screen). There's a few buttons to tap on the corner of the screen that represent specials/supers (which you equip before fighting).

Works pretty well, imo.

Intalled and runs great on my OnePlus 3T. It does seem like it'd be a demanding game, which is why there are so many devices that aren't allowed to download it.

Sounds interesting. So there's no actual movement involved like standard fighters? No jumping around, no inching up , no spacing game?

That's all kind of done automatically. After a while both characters walk right next to each other, and there is some spacing stuff with swiping lef and right for dashes, but that's about it.

Pro tip. If you're looking for an Android gaming tablet, Amazon isn't the way to go.

I really wasn't, but it's been fairly great for all the Android games I've thrown at is so far. Ultimately I needed a new tablet and the $65 price tag was definitely right. Ah well.

(Obviously I'm not using Amazon's store.)

Supposedly, any new assets created for this pertaining to new playable characters are intended to be recycled in a proper Skullgirls sequel should it ever happen.

Really enjoying this on my iPhone 6s plus, especially after Injustice 2 was a bit disappointing in responsive controls for me.

It seems like there may be fewer frames of animation and stages are downgraded but otherwise the art looks great here.

Ive only played it for an hour but it seems like the best fighting on mobile at the moment.

Regarding the Android device restrictions...

LINE is pretty strict about only allowing devices they've tested for performance, and will be gradually relaxing Android device restrictions as they confirm the performance is acceptable on them.

LINE... as in, that messaging app? Huh. Either way, I hope this turns into a successful venture for you!

I've been in the soft launch for a while now and I've been really impressed with it so far. The combat is shockingly robust for a mobile game. You can just do the same tap-tap-swipe-special combos over and over if you want, but there's loads of room for actually making your own optimized loops too if you dig in.

There will be stickers and everything!

Yesssssssss.
