Nintendo E3 plans detailed

If nothing else, we can safely expect a Mario Odyssey blowout, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, more Splatoon 2, and a final push for ARMS. Fire Emblem Warriors and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 are also extremely likely, having been repeatedly confirmed for 2017 (be that the calendar year or fiscal year).

As a "worst case" scenario, that's not shabby at all.

But there's also plenty of smoke to suggest probable appearaces by Smash Bros, Pokémon Stars, Pikmin, the Virtual Console, GCN games, perhaps Mother 3... Also, the timing is right for Retro Studios and Animal Crossing.

Certainly there are more "safe bets" to speculate about this year than the last couple E3s, between the leaks and rumors and perfect storm of first-party development cycles.

I'd add Zelda DLC in the "safely expect" list too. Everything else seems about right.
Yeah, I could see them showing a mini-trailer for DLC #1, and maybe a concept art teaser for DLC #2, during the E3 Spotlight. If it's not in the Spotlight, they'll probably give it five or 10 minutes on Treehouse Live, and also use that time to showcase what the new Zelda amiibo do (i.e. MM Link unlocks Fierce Deity gear, etc).

I can see Konami releasing Super Castlevania R

Nintendo and Konami have worked together to revive Bomberman and Momotaro Dentetsu to a bizarrely high level of success, so I don't see why that arrangement wouldn't continue with higher profile properties. Castlevania is a good call, but I'm leaning towards predicting Silent Hill. NCL has always seemed desperate to have some sort of horror representation on Nintendo's systems, even if it's not the biggest genre.

But I think touching anything Kojima had a hand in would really piss people off, especially if it's a Switch exclusive.

I'm not personally a fan of any of those games, but would love to see the reaction if something like that ever happened. Either way, Castlevania is a good call for the next Konami title to be revived. Hopefully Konami and Nintendo are listening.

Hmmm a new 2D Castlevania would be a much smaller production than a Silent Hill, though and Nintendo still has Fatal Frame going on.

Castlevania also has more of a history on Nintendo platforms.

Not that Nintendo likes the Metroidvania genre :p.

If we're talking Kojima involved that needs to be revived....ZOE would be my vote.

Heh, typically those Pylmpics games come out in November before the games. This might mean Xenoblade or something else gets delayed into next year.

Nintendo had forgotten that there was an upcoming olympic games, and then hastily rearranged their release schedule for this very important game release?

I will fully turn Intelligent Systems into a powerhouse studio if they manage to show something substantial for Fire Emblem Warriors AND the new Fire Emblem on Switch. These guys don't get enough acclaim for their high quality yet somewhat fast output.

They were powerhouse in the early to mid 2000's. They don't hold a candle to that era now unfortunately. Best Paper Marios, best Fire Emblems and Advance Wars. They were all great. They are ok to good now in comparison.

I'm strangely confident Metal Gear Survive is going to get a Switch reveal for some reason, just seems like the sort of weird "eh?" moment Nintendo always has a few of in a conference

And then Snake in Smash!

Actually, MGSV would be cool. One of my favorite games ever (both GZ and TPP).

Fox Engine scaled nicely between PS3/360 and PS4/X1/PC, so maybe it'd port well to Switch?

For me as a consumer? Hell yes, MGSV is one of the best games ever.

For Konami? Well, they could sell more copies of one of their biggest games ever. So maybe!
Well I did mean for Konami :p More games is always better for us, of course. I just get the feeling they wouldn't bother unless they feel that the sales of these games can make up for the cost of bringing them over alongside the Fox Engine

Konami spent a *lot* of money making the FOX Engine. They're gonna use that shit on a lot of their game, PES being one of the recent non-MGS games to use it. If they can find a way to shove it into a Switch version, they will, but recent announcements like PES probably won't have a Switch version yet since they were already in development.

Oh yeah, I have no doubt it took a lot of R&D to make the engine. I just figured they may not see the worth in bringing it over to the Switch if they don't think any if their Fox Engine games will be profitable on it. Here's to hoping that the Switch does get stuff like PES and MGSV

I know it's bad but surely I can't be the only one like this...

Whenever a new Smash or Smash DLC is imminent, my reaction to a direct is HUGELY dependent on Smash news. By that I mean..

Bad Direct with Smash news: 90% happy
Amazing Direct with Smash news: 100% happy

Bad Direct without Smash news: 0% happy
Amazing Direct without Smash news: 50% happy

Anyone else like this? Hopefully Nintendo know this..

As a long time nintendo fan and e3 watcher, i learned to NEVER go into e3 expecting to be blown away by a huge amount of announced titles.

My strategy to have expectations in check and have a fine e3 is always to have that one game for me to anticipate that is 100% certain to appear, when we go into their e3 it always feels like a gamble and can have either amazing effects or not.

Like i said before, having mario odyssey is already a guarantee that i will be satisfied with the event.

If Konami announces anything for Switch at E3, I could see 2d Castlevania, MGS TS HD, or Gradius. I think pes and a port of mgs V is also possible. Pes will come at some point. Even if not this year.

I'm expecting the following:

- Wii Music spiritual successor
- Nintendogs + Frogs
- Disaster: Day of Crisis 2
- Ultra Street Fighter 1
- Elite Beat Agents Mii costumes for MK8
- Metroid Prime Picross

Now there is no way I will be disappointed.

So I'm curious about what we'll hear Saturday regarding MHXX. It apparently could be coming a lot sooner than we think, in which case I'm curious if they'll spend much or any time on it at E3. I wonder if Capcom is going to have much if anything else...

I'm not personally a fan of any of those games, but would love to see the reaction if something like that ever happened. Either way, Castlevania is a good call for the next Konami title to be revived. Hopefully Konami and Nintendo are listening.

Actually I'm betting a Silent Hill announcement could qualify as an announcement that would spawn "a thread for the archives". Castlevania is far more likely though if Konami is going to have anything.

I want a new Bomberman Hero though if we're asking for Konami games.

I expect at least one major announcement from Capcom at at least one of the first-party press conferences. Don't ask me which or what, though (but probably not the MS one).

If MHXX gets announced at E3 in the Spotlight I'm sure it'll just be in a third party reel and won't get any attention.

We'll see the reel and everyone will say "omg was that MHXX?!?. Looks like it's confirmed for western release!". I think it'll be something like that.

Amazon just told me I could get a prime switch. So I one click ordered that things in my meeting.

It's finally happening.

Grabbed mine from EB Games earlier this month as soon as it popped up in stock. No regrets.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's battle mode alone is completely worth the price of admission.

We're effectively two weeks away from E3 (EA Play starts June 10). Next week we could perhaps see Nintendo of Europe's E3 page launched (it still returns a 406 Not Acceptable) and the press site back in operation (not the main press site, the E3 press site).

And, as I have written before, direct deliveries to show site (LACC) and exhibitor move in begin June 4 (Sunday next week). So starting Monday, June 5, we should if lucky be able to see some Nintendo signage, crates and maybe even a booth curtain or two.

Okay, personally, I couldn't care less. I won't be that excited for a old game I already played a dozen of times.

I will be very happy if one of these options happen:

-3D Metroid
- Luigis Mansion 3
- F-Zero

But I don't expect them.

Ultra happy if one of these option happen + Third Party Support

This E3 is already better than the last couple of years for me because Mario and Zelda DLC alone.

Smash and Pokemon are the two franchises that keep me interested in buying Nintendo consoles so I can absolutely relate.

Oddly enough. I'm one of biggest Smash freak here and I don't mind it if Smash didn't get announced at E3 since I know they would announce quite a lot of things there for the fans.

I'm receiving a screen protector for my Switch this May 31. It's from Oorzly, i hope it's good. What else to get? A Pro controller, a pouch for the console and headphones. Aren't they gonna release some lime green and pink joycons for Splatoon 2 release? What about the separate dock, is that available?

I have the Orzly protector and it's excellent. You're in good hands.

The dock is available now, though it's a bit expensive at $90 USD.

Green and pink joycons are coming in autumn, but apparently Japan is getting them with Splatoon 2's release so you might be able to import then.

Getting a Pro controller and a case are good ideas.

Not to put a damper on things but surely Mario and Sonic winter 2017 will be among the games announced at E3.

Yeah, that game is an inevitability. But I don't think it'll be part of the conference proper. I think that'll be a Treehouse Live announcement. Mario and Sonic games are almost never announced during the conference itself.

What are the changes between X/Generations and XX? Would it fix some issues fans have like with the difficulty?
Yeah I was thinking the same thing today, if anything it could be an early 2018 release in the West.

Wow, seriously? *snip*.
backseat modding is frowned upon and a mod already mentioned that Switch fans really shouldn't be asking for port begging to be a bannable offense

I was thinking it would be cool to see Nintendo do something like a Kaiju action brawler. Since they made something like Wonderful 101.

I want to see Retro doing something mature/western, since that's something Nintendo's portfolio is kind-of missing right now.

That and I want Metroid to come back in a big way. Heck, give it to Platinum, they brought NieR back well enough.

Only slightly joking.

The fact of being from the US isn't enough to fit a western mature product development
Many of the prime staff members aren't at retro anymore and their last 6 years output have been heavily focused on classical Nintendo's worldwide family aesthetic and not on any kind of "from software" style

I think that expecting a "new prime" like product from retro (not necessarily metroid) would probably lead to disappointment

The disappointment I will feel if the only Pikmin discussed at e3 will be Hey Pikmin for real...!!

To be clear, I wasn't asking for anything like a "New Prime"or "From Software" - I want Retro to do something 'mature', and I want Nintendo to bring back Metroid with another studio - two separate things.
