As for the Monthly Debut game for next Friday, this would be my guess:

However, the devs seems to deny it in a weird fashion, so who knows?

It is true that there is already a publisher, yet the publisher obviously knows Humble Monthly:

i mostly like how fo4 looks cos it reminds me of fo1 and 2 a lot since it's a lot more colorful and bright than 3 and new vegas

Next month for me I'm only planning to grab these.

Already have Tekken 7 purchased, might get KoF. The releases this year on Steam have just been nuts each month, I can't think of the last time I spent this much money half a year in on new games.

EDIT: Is Agony coming out next month? I still see no date.

It appears in the "coming soon" section for june, but it is not reliable info: it is just a hidden date put there by the dev, and a lot of devs just lazily set their game release for a random date. Maybe an initial estimation.

Little did the devs know or care that some people check the "coming soon" sections a month in advance.

wait what? The Crimson Court? When was this announced?

I didnt re-play DD when they did the "less grindy" update, but I might with this. From the store description it seems to add to the campaign, its not fter you finish it something, so you should be able to start a new mode in the "less grind" mode (what the fuck is it calleD? Brilliance or something?) and have this new expansion content right?

Thats exciting if so.

Very little hype for Tokyo 42. Kind of worrying. Maybe it will get kick ass reviews and a bunch of stream coverage. But for an indie multiplayer title I sort of expected a bit more pre-release buzz.

Is it really thought of primarily as a multiplayer game? Two of the devs were on the Crate & Crowbar episode this week and they talked about the game for close to an hour, during which I think they talked up the singleplayer more. Either way it got me on board, and I think that's a relatively popular podcast.

I was all set to give you some full impressions for Black Swan.

But I encountered a bug that prevented me from finishing the game. Others encountered the same bug. They were told to "try starting the game again from the beginning." In other words, the developers couldn't be assed to fix their game, so cross your fingers and hope for the best because there's only a game-breaking bug SOMETIMES.

Unplayable. I was going to say it was probably among the worst hidden-object games I'd ever played even BEFORE I hit that, despite some good points like natural-looking animations? But wow, to encounter a hidden-object game I couldn't even finish has gotta be a new low.

Between
King of Fighters XIV,
Guilty Gear REV 2,
Tekken 7 and the SFV update, I'm going to play a LOT of fighting games on Steam next month.

You and me both; our wallets are slowly dying.
Passing on SFV, netcode still doesn't work properly for me.

Not many two person indie titles come with online multiplayer these days. They put out a trailer specifically for multiplayer and Mode7 the publisher is known for their multiplayer titles. Not to say it won't provide a good single player, but if they are asking a premium because of the multiplayer I hope that enough people are playing it.

I recently saw a reviewer advise to "wait for the review" in a gaming show. And they don't usually give that advice if a game is super good.

I want to play Final Fantasy XI and XIV, but I can't remember or find my one time password. This is my own doing, but at the same time I wish Square would have customer service during the weekends. They probably won't even pick up the phones on Monday. Oh well. Maybe it's a sign that I shouldn't step foot into an MMO again.

I thought you'd be giving us some thoughts on the rather excellent movie and got all excited. Seems pretty sad that there's a game breaking bug that ruined your experience, but it sounds like it wasn't a very pleasurable one anyway.

Yeah, I have no idea what's up with that. This can't be the new card system, I mean the game has probably met all of the requirements already.

I think games from more prominent developers/publishers are whitelisted prior to release. I got a drop in Rime in the time it took me to make the PC performance thread.

Ah what the heck. Here are some notes I jotted down before I scrapped the full impressions:

- title has no colon and protagonist has a name and profession - Victoria Bonpartie, a spiritualist and medium - so it's got that going for it, which is nice

- hidden object scenes are fiddly, hitboxes are all over the place

- translation is godawful: opening cutscene has a headline that reads "Tree Ballerines Substituted" - was the translation done by schoolchildren? In special education classes?

- instructions are often wrong: Item hanging from a rope. "I need to cut it off." Knife doesn't work. What does? MATCHES. You burn it off. (Homage to a certain flash game?)

- Instructions have no logical order. You need to get a bird out of a cage. You have a key and birdseed. You try the key? Key doesn't work. You're wondering, do I have the wrong key? Nope, it won't let you unlock the cage until you put the birdseed on a plate on the table. What? Why?

- Items are given the wrong names. "Pan" is clearly a pot. Although I did learn that a "dompa" is a stringed instrument. (Hmm, wikipedia says no such instrument exists. Going to list of stringed instruments....there's a domra, which is Russian. Ah, that explains the shitty translation. It's always Russia.)

- You have to cut glass and have a diamond. Of course that doesn't work! Later on, the diamond is set in a ring. Ohhh....NOW the diamond works. (?!)

- In just about all hidden object games, the object you pick up at the end is one you found. In this game? Not so.

- All the girls have voice actresses that sound like middle-aged women. They're not even TRYING to sound like girls. I think I'd be giving too much credit if they did this intentionally to make it even creepier. (Speaking of creepy, will you STOP USING THAT GIGGLING CHILD STOCK SOUND?! Find a new kid and record it. GodDAMN!)

- You don't find a fast-travel map until several hours into the game. Thanks a lot.

- The music on the other hand is really good. Uses actual snippets of "Swan Lake," occasional discordant takes on "Swan Lake" to be creepier, snatches of "In the Hall of the Mountain King" from Peer Gynt...I really dig actually using classical music to highlight a ballet-themed game. Probably their one smart design choice.

- The faces are uncanny valley but in a good way, like a horror way. Also the animations are pretty good for hidden-object. They're subtle. A girl banging on glass from inside a dome also has distracted idle movements, as if they're starting to give up, like "Welp, what else am I gonna do in here?"

- Game-breaking thing occurred about 2.5h in (the girl in the dome replaced by a black screen with inventory bar,) but I could continue doing other stuff until a point of no return at which point I needed to get past the girl in the dome, which I no longer could do. At said point, the hint button only said "I need to do something somewhere else" and wouldn't tell you where, as if even the game couldn't find the correct way to proceed and gave up.

I just hope that the next Elder Scrolls doesn't follow the voicing the main character thing that Fallout 4 has. I wasn't a fan of that.

What does ENB stand for btw?

Sacrifice everything for production values and mainstream appeal, it's the AAA way!

It wouldn't surprise me, but I'd like to believe even Bethesda realizes that an RPG with 10 different races would be a disaster with a voiced protagonist, not to mention the ramifications to design throughout as seen in Fallout 4.

Crosscells!

Man, it's awesome that this dude keeps pumping out these nifty puzzle games. They're lovely and atmospheric and just fun to experience, even aside from the great mechanics. But I always wish they were longer. This one ended right as I was getting the hang of the puzzles that included every type of clue, like we were just getting into the real meat of the game.

Buuuut hey it was super cool while it lasted, and I really enjoyed these puzzles. I think as far as puzzle types I would go Hexcells > Crosscells > Squarecells, though they're all good. I understand the guy is working on Squarecells Infinite. Hope he comes back to Crosscells! I'd be pretty happy with just a level pack or something.

Edit: oh yeah, side note, one of the later levels had multiple correct answers but only accepted one of them as valid. I imagine this will be fixed soon since the game only just came out.

Yeah I really like it, I enjoy solving the equations to find solutions and there aren't a lot of puzzle games with this much math in it

Likely the case, maybe they'll say something during E3 time.

You are right on your assumption.

PS4 and XBOne release date will be same as the PC version. For now the date is set to “Q2 2017”, exact date will be published when we are 100% sure about it.

Taken from their kickstarter page.

got most of the rest of dks3 done, oceiros, dragonslayer armour, lothric prince and champion gungdyr all defeated

lothric prince continues to be an absolutely fantastic fight and a highlight in the series for sure. i really enjoy everything about that character and the fight is really fun and memorable and actually a bit harder than i remembered

i summoned phantoms for both armour and gungdyr since i'm not a huge fan of those fights and specially the walk up to those fights. gungdyr in particular i found really frustrating the first time around and i wasn't looking forward to fighting him again. that master swordsman didn't do much but gave me enough space to hit the dude for free, while armour is not terrible but i just didn't want to run back to it

finally oceiros is a decent boss fight with an interesting character that i feel deserved a much better level and more development, but what can you do. it's harmless at worst, so no biggie

overall my feelings on the game haven't changed much from my first playthrough, except actually feeling like i overrated the level design in it. there's a lot of pointless shortcuts around that are meant to give the impression the maps elegantly loop around but they serve no real purpose as the game requires no backtracking and being able to teleport to any bonfire makes all those special routes all but pointless. it's also fairly unimaginative, with areas that feel like dks3's version of duke's archives, of tower of latria, of valley of defilement, etc.

and i've done the anri stuff on this playthrough expecting to get a bit more of story but it's barely anything, and yuria as an npc is as boring and shallow as the rest

that being said, most of the things i got from my first playthrough are still through, the combat model is the best in the series, with a really good mix of speed and backstabs and weapon variety (i never used sword arts but w/e), even if i do miss the ability to equip multiple weapons and switch through them on the fly. i miss that a lot from dks2. but then the boss fights are really good and varied, specially coming from dks2, and there are no spiders so that's neat. the side quests are also fairly interesting and they're harder than ever to miss or break which is good. sadly the npcs in the game are almost all bad and the story is not very interesting either

still gonna be my least favorite souls game, it just lacks that magic the other games have. there's a lack of innovation and risk taking that just feels wrong for these kinds of games, retreading old ideas is not something i expect from these games and dks3 continues to be a big disappointment because of it

now let's see about that dlc, haven't even found the second one lol

Yeah, June is end of Q2, so this is why they chose this month.

Well, the specific date is either the 12th or 13th, so I doubt it was selected randomly to represent Q2 (the 30th would be a much more likely candidate as it's the last day of the month/quarter), but, yeah, it may no longer be accurate. E.g. Cosmic Star Heroine was originally slated to release on or between March 23rd and April 4th as per its position in the list but ultimately unlocked on the 12th.
