Hi there guys. I've been offline due to my father passing away a few days ago.
Also spent the morning in the hospital because the stress from the funeral apparently took its toll on me.

Anyway, trying to regain some normalcy and reading about Vanquish seems to indicate there's a weird damage glitch tied to the frame-rate?
I also hear it's a demanding game. Is 60fps at 1080p doable with low shadows and AO off on a 280X?

My condolences :(

As for Vanquish... it doesn't seem that demanding from what I've seen in that DF video.

So sorry, friend. :( Take care of yourself, some Vanquish should help. :)

Damn. With the exception of finally finishing Alan Wake (and the 2 DLC episodes), all I've been playing since Thursday is Fallout 4. I ended up buying it this morning, too. Just the base game, though, not the season pass. I'll wait for a later sale on that, or more likely just never get around to it hah

I have been playing strictly vanilla FO4, though, I haven't messed around with any mods. The game runs surprisingly well on my system (Alienware Alpha R1), but I wasn't sure if mods would screw with it too much

I was going to ask if it's doable on a 280X but forgot that part...

My condolences.

I was testing the game with my 280x. And i was getting 50-60fps with maxed out settings and 1440p resolution. I am talking about first area of the game, so i am not sure does it become more demanding later.

So @1080p resolution i think that you can expect stable 60fps with everything on High (max settings).

You should also know that there is some kind of bug in 1st person sequences and that performance is worse and there are fps drops no matter the GPU. Also i would recommend using FXAA instead of Edge AA.

If it's region locked to Japan, is it possible to get it if someone gifts it to you? Like BDO?

If the package isn't set up to only be purchasable in Japan, which isn't to be confused with only being available in Japan, then yes.

i dont know some parts of the statements rubs me the wrong way .... I guess its the "piracy rate" talk which sounds like they care more about people "not torrenting" than about their actuall customers .... the "piracy rate" statistic always seem weird to me (and now after graduating agter all the economics and management classes even more ) ... it sounds like madeup statistic usefull only for DRM companies to scare the suits so much that they buy their DRMs (aka to care more about imaginary custome than real ones)

As for the RiME game itself , it looks very interesting , but not that interesting to me to buyit at launch especially when people report performance problems ....

I recently saw a reviewer advise to "wait for the review" in a gaming show. And they don't usually give that advice if a game is super good.
I dont know i played some part of pressTokyo 42 build thx to youtuber friend

It starts up slow but Iam eally engoying it now , So far there are no complex gameplay mechanics but the game is challenging in an old fashion way. The controls are a bit junky and the story doesn't seem like anything that hasn't been done before, but the artistic direction and world design are amazing.
Nothing mindblowing but great fun nevertheless

Hi gang, it's been a minute.

Do any extra sights show up in Wolf: New Order? I can't do headshots worth anything and the gun models are so big I can't really see much more with iron sights. I'm really enjoying the experience though. Great fun.

There's no weapon modification system, but one of the rifles does have a scope.

That FPS though

bZwIKH1.png

That guide recommends 45 FPS at one point, but I'll stick with 60 as a minimum. I do have Gsync, so settling at 45 FPS won't be a huge issue.

Looks really blurry in those screenshots.

That's probably just the particular version of ENB they have running, which you can of course change to a different preset entirely and then further tweak it to your liking.

This is the best guide I've found to modding this game step by step.

It's good that they are trying to emphasize and at least recognize that what they perceive as their own interests in adding DRM are at odds with their customers interests. That's good. What's less good is that they do not seem aware that their own interests are not adding DRM.

RE: SteamSpy confidence intervals; it's never been quite clear to me what their actual confidence intervals are, since in the API the field is return as "variance", which is not at all what a confidence interval is. No idea what is actually being reported and how they validate the coverage of the confidence interval.

CDkeys doesnt offer Eliza DLC from what Ive been reading which is why Ive been looking around other sites actually.

Story
Arcade (I think its 4 or 5 matches unlike previous games)
Vs
Treasure Battle
Training
Online Vs
Online Tournament
Ranked
Customization mode

No idea what I might be missing so someone please correct me if Im wrong. (Jukebox is PS4 exclusive)

Thanks! Do we know anything about the quality of the port? I'm thinking about preordering it, but last time I've preordered a fighting game was SFV and DOA5 before that, and we all know what happened with both

i posted in the black desert thread but theres quite a huge glitch i found and can save people money at the end of it

buy the traveler bundle and log into game, refund the game and traveler pack, wait for funds, then buy the game with the explorer bundle and log into game, ths time go to the claim section and you will see they havent took the traveler bundle from account, claim both the traveler and explorer items, then refund again and just buy the game individually for the £4 price and u keep the packages above

ofcourse you gotta spend money for both packages but then u can refund them and keep them tied to ur account.

What's treasure battle mode in Tekken? Is that like fighting infinite ghosts of online players? If so, sounds like the main single player content. Always loved that in Tekken 5.

Finished RiME over the weekend and it's a wonderful game. It's a very busy year gaming wise but this still definitely has a chance to land in my Top 10 of the year.

A real shame discussion about the game gets overshadowed by a lot of unfortunate factors surrounding it (DRM, performance issues, development rumors, etc)

If it were some variance, it would not make any sense. If it were some kind of standard-deviation, it would be similar to what is used for a confidence interval (a factor times standard-deviation divided by the square-root of the sample size). A standard-deviation equal to about twice the mean is not a good sign. Since the goal is simply to estimate the number of players, it is a flag for the reader that more data needs to be sampled to have a good estimate. I'm not even sure we can trust the estimate of the variance, there must be a huge variance for this estimate too.

seems like a really shitty thing to do. and that's also assuming you don't end up getting blocked from the game and/or steam later for abusing the system

Is it really that bad? I thought the problem was only with the AA. :/

Go check the performance thread. Mostly people saying they're refunding.

Is there any deals for TEKKEN 7 guys? I wanted to go PS4 but the dude I'm playing with already got it on PC so I don't have a choice apparently. Nothing on GMG yet.

That is a factor to some extent as SSAA is enabled by default as part of the Ultra preset, but performance does vary significantly even with FXAA/TXAA. 1080p60 at "max" settings is out of the question unless you have a 980 Ti/1070 or better.

CD Keys (~$36.40) if you're not fussed about receiving Eliza early, GamersGate (~$40) otherwise.

Very little hype for Tokyo 42. Kind of worrying. Maybe it will get kick ass reviews and a bunch of stream coverage. But for an indie multiplayer title I sort of expected a bit more pre-release buzz.

It's not focused on MP. It has MP, but the focus is on it's SP campaign.

I recently saw a reviewer advise to "wait for the review" in a gaming show. And they don't usually give that advice if a game is super good.

Really? I'm loving it. I did love Rain World, too, so *shrug*

Is Colonial Marines really terrible? Kinda in the mood for a decent and short Alien shooter and the complete pack is $6 on humble.

May want to read up on this.

If you want a short Alien Shooter, I'd say grab Lost Planet 3; it's more Aliens than Aliens CM.

Hmm...didn't Tekken have a survival mode?

Yup. I know T3 at least had it. Heck most fighting games tend to have that mode.
Garou had a neat Survival mode though; you got 'power ups' in the form of orbs you pick up from damaging the opponent. The orb would either restore health or the meter or gave you an attack boost iirc.

Just finished The Dream Machine. It was a long road, and the ending doesn't feel like a good ending (it's not happy, and it's only vaguely bittersweet,) but kudos to the developers to sticking it out with a claymated episodic game over seven years.

I highly suggest you play it.

Well from what I gather Harada is a PC gamer and there was a picture of the graphic options and there were plenty of options. If I find it I'll post it.
EDIT:

Correct. Basically infinite fights to get items. You can end after each match or continue to unlock more content
Hmm...didn't Tekken have a survival mode?

Offline mode: Arcade, Treasure Battle, Vs, Training
