Bill Maher on bringing Milo back, Le Penn, Vaccinations, Islam.....

I look forward to the OT version of list wars where people try to argue that this is really eating your own while ignoring Maher's standard issue insecure bigotry.

I never cared for the argument about his place on the political spectrum. What I've cared about is his usefulness to the pursuit of progress.

He's useless in that regard.

People can call him liberal if they want but he's a useless one

Is Maher an asshole, an idiot, or just worthless scum? I'm keeping an open mind on all the possibilities. Jesus, how can one man harbor so many fucked up 'opinions'.

That is not a solution to the problem that is this asshat having a platform on a popular network.
The only bad thing he did was say the n-word (which is probably a good reason to fire him), but, bringing Milo on shouldn't elicit this response. Maher always brings an assortment of people to his show, and that's the whole point of it. Nobody complains when he brings the shamed Elliot Spitzer on.

I used to like Maher when I was just discovering that I wasn't a conservative like my parents. How ignorant I was back then.

Pleaaaaaase don't bring Milo back. Ugh. I was so happy to not have to hear about him for over a month now. Keep him irrelevant where he belongs.

HBO needed to fire him the first time he had Milo on. To think of bringing him back...

It's time to pull the ripcord, HBO.

So what about his anti-vacc ideas? which have caused and will cause more suffering, particularly among children not getting vaccinated.

Or his islamaphobia and support of vile people like Le Pen just because of that?

I wonder how HBO feels about that statement they released now...

Fuck off, Maher. Go join Milo in the pit of irrelevance since you love him so much. You've already got something in common, you both want to date younger people.

Dude has always been a piece of shit, but his mask is slipping lately and getting far more exposed.

so he claims credit for taking milo down, but now wants to bring him back up? ok

His interest in getting Milo back is angering me. He was already on thin ice with how he was too friendly with someone he didn't understand beforehand.

What exists as an alternative to Real Time?

Meet the Press only fills in some of the same roles. It doesn't push boundaries nor does it allow for any levity and it's not designed to give a platform for opposing viewpoints to discuss matters.

Yeah, no. I dropped you for having Milo on in the first place, and now you want to have him back? No, thank you.

It's as if Maher looked at Trump's perpetual dumpster fire of a life and said to himself "I want some of that action."

Islamaphobia? Is that what criticizing Islam is called now?

Bill Maher criticizes religion. I bet you'd call Christopher Hitchens (who used to frequent the show) an Islamaphobe too.

I do not like anti-vaxxers so I agree with you there.

At what point does your complacency just make you racist then? Because if that's the case then I think Maher's reached that point.
I guess it wasn't clear that I think he's a bigot and an idiot, who some people trip all over themselves to defend because they mistake complacency for nuance and contrarianism for depth.

Maher's role is to think he is the smartest person at the table while actually being the dumbest.

His views on religion are the only thing he is ever somewhat right on. But gaf has become weirdly religious and sanctimonious in recent years so I'm not surprised by some of the responses in here.

Maher's views on religion are pretty much unilaterally shit.

But his views on Islam are extremely shitty and he comes off as an Islamaphobe

But he didn't shame Milo. His interview had so many softballs that Maher at some point had to have ripped off his testicles and thrown them at Milo's face.

He was a complete pushover in the panel discussion. He deserves no credit whatsoever for the work of Larry Wilmore and Malcolm Nance.

Goddamn, Bill, like what the fuck are you the doing man? It's like you apologized for the racial slur, so you have to double down now on everything else horrible.

Please, dont spout BS and try to claim Maher tries to have a 'conversation' about Islam. Its so far gone from even his normal attacks on overall religion.

Christopher 'I 100% support the second Iraq War' Hitchens? He isn't some infaliable god that can be used as a shield.

from op

Now Maher says that he'd like to help rescue Yiannopoulos from his tumble out of the spotlight.

He is doing more than just bringing him on for lulz. That Milo ep must have gotten great ratings or something.

I was actually kind of giving him the benefit of the doubt with regard to his racism stuff recently, but LOL, fuck off, Bill.

He also denies germ theory. Uses the Pasteur deathbed recantation lie that us only popular on denialism sites. Mayher is a piece of shit, and I've thought so for a while.

Excuse me, what?! I always had a feeling about Maher, was never a fan but this takes the piss if he truly doesn't believe in Germ Theory?!

People around Maher are also so full of shit they are probably used as waste disposal.
"He doesn't suffer any kind of bullshit," Reiner told me. He expressed the Platonic ideal of Bill Maher: "If there's a sliver of bullshit, he does not accept it. And that I love."

I haven't heard anything about milo in awhile and it should stay that way. he's not even a good person to have on for an opposing voice and this will likely do actual harm

could argue that the first time maher didn't know but no excuses now. not that he deserved the benefit of the doubt in the first place

how is he so sure that the majority of Muslims in the world want sharia law

Well Pew conducted a survey on it:

gsi2-overview-1.png

Since hundreds of millions of Muslims live in Indonesia that's a quite a chunk already.

My question is what version, if you will, that actually entails, because if you ask Americans if they want Christian laws ruling on things like prostitution, abortion and contraceptive use you'd probably get a few interesting responses. Likewise, I'd be curious if these responses meant biblical/Quran-like punishments alongside the "crimes".

The whole report is rather interesting in that many Islamic countries are themselves very worried about Islamic extremism at home, and that Muslim Americans are quite like their Christian counterparts in some respects

http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tan...key-findings-in-the-u-s-and-around-the-world/

Still, support this high for religious laws is ughhhhhhhh.

EDIT: Blister :p

Look at that, Bill Maher is a piece of shit? I am SHOCKED.

It's taking a long-ass time for liberals to wake up about this guy.

There have been plenty of us telling the truth about Maher for quite some time but it was easily ignored because Islam isn't a race and black people are too sensitive about white guys saying 'nigger'. Maher smokes weed and dated black women so he must be alright.

how is he so sure that the majority of Muslims in the world want sharia law

He likes to act like there is no such thing as 'moderate' Islam so of course he thinks most Muslims want to blow everything up and establish a global caliphate.

Maher is almost always awful when he starts talking religion

.

Maher in that profike says he is proud his show "launched" Kellyanne Conway and Ann Coulter's careers...

It's clear Milo is his next project. He actively wants to help him succeed as a "media" personality.

That's the uselessness to progress I was talking about
