Microïds unveils their Nintendo Switch line-up. (Syberia 1, 2, 3 +more)

never left the stone age
This is something that's been missing on Nintendo hardware, mid-tier European devs :D.

Already got Syberia 1 on PC but will definitely pick 2 and 3 up on Switch

Hold up, there's a video game adaptation of Blacksad coming? Based on the amazing French comic?! AND it's coming to Switch?!

Holy crap!

Man sooo good to see a Blacksad game. Love the comics, even have framed posters on the wall over my TV and vinyl record player because I love that artstyle so much. Guarnido is really good.

And yeah, Syberia 1 and 2 are amazing point and click adventure games. Absolute classics with amazing atmosphere.

Syberia 1,2&3 on the Switch. Where is the godisreal_beyonce gif when you need it?!?!

Seems like they intend to put in actual effort with these titles. Adding local split screen to Gear.Club is a nice addition.

My only concern is pricing for some of these titles. I know they won't be the iOS/Android prices, but I don't really have any interest in paying over $20 for those that have been released there.

These announcements give me hope Gameloft will port their titles, but I'm not sure they have any interest in being on a device that won't always be able to do micro-transactions.

Am I the only person most intrigued/interested in Gear Club?

It's the game I'm most interested in. The game's quality looks a little iffy, but since they're adding modes I don't see any reason to believe they won't polish the visuals and car handling a bit.

It'll likely be the only racing sim for quite sometime.

The Syberia ports are bizarre to hear about but cool.

Doesn't read OPs, especially not his own
Alright, gear.club caught my eye, I'm kinda blown away that this game is on smartphones

I'm totally interested. I want a good racing game on the NS. If this one is good, I'll pick it up.

Finally looked at the trailer. Holy shit EDEN Games made this game? Whoa. Test Drive Unlimited is one of my favorite racing games of all time. I'll definitely be picking this up. Looks cool.

another layer of polish could really help the Flashback remake. At the least, they'd be able to get a better version of the original game (unlockable) in there. That'd be nice.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
Never played the Siberia series.

I've played a few of the Broken Sword games, though.

Is Siberia better?

Are the Syberia games any good? Always been curious. These are prequels to Dreamfall Longest Journey right?

Not at all. The first game was merely decent at best(but released largely during one of the largest lull periods for the genre, so it garnered more praise for giving an unserved fanbase breadcrumbs more than anything). Not awful, but not a classic by any means.

The two sequels have proven progressively worse. I have not played Syberia 3, but it went through development hell and just lurched onto the market recently as if it needed to be expunged finally from some cash flow statement. It's been considered rotten by most reviewers and fans of point n click games.

Oh and these games are entirely unrelated to Dreamfall and Longest Journey.

Unless the Switch version of Syberia 3 is a complete reworking/overhaul of the original, it's best to avoid that game completely. Here are my impressions, it's definitely an experience I'll never forget. If you want 10+ hours of the worst VA you'll ever hear in a game, try it out
I'll repeat your 'Avoid at all costs' recommendation. Awkward controls. Awful voice acting. Bugs. Performance problems. Lame ending. Play the first two games. They're really good. Then forget 3 exists.

Wasn't there something wrong with the Flashback remake? If I remember it correctly there were some issues.

I regret that I've never heard of these games before (I am terribly ignorant when it comes to indie games) but some of them look intersting. I'll certainly give at least a couple a run on my Switch

I love the Syberia games. I hope they're updating the first two games, but if not they shouldn't look too bad scaled to 720p on the switch screen.

Another Blacksad fan here totally amazed someone's making a game of such a wonderful comic book series. Lends itself perfectly to a narrative adventure, too (The Wolf Among Us should be a good case study for the development team).

Tone and feel will be a massive part of the game, though. Better to go without voice actors if they're anything like the Syberia games.

Isn't Flashback Remastered a ubisoft game?

The trailer linked in the OP is for the 2013 Ubisoft remake that was just called Flashback. If this new one is actually called Flashback Remastered and made by Microids, then the link is wrong. Because the screenshot does not match at all.

Try the iOS version. It’s garbage, sadly. Really bad handling.

Eden Games did some cool stuff with Test Drive Unlimited and I think putting the game on the NS using an actual controller will make it much better. I'm interested in seeing how they handle it on an actual console with controllers and the like.

I played it with a proper dual analog Bluetooth game controller on my iPhone and Apple TV. Handles really quite oddly.

I don't think the game was designed that way natively. Watching the videos it appears to be a motion game by default. I wonder if bringing the game over the NS will allow them to change the handling/control model for the game since there's no touch involved. I've played their previous games and I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt here since Test Drive Unlimited one and two played great on the Xbox 360.

Dammit, looked like metroid from the corner of my eye

But it's cool, I've wanted to try these for a while

Just tried out Gear.Club, it's fairly inoffensive but I'd have to see how they adapt it to Switch.

Yeah. I hope they change the direction to a "console game" from a "mobile game". Their console stuff was great, so I'm thinking they can do it since the needs of a mobile game are different from a console game. They'll have more power and standard controls to work with on the NS which could change the handling model they use since it doesn't have to rely on tilt controls first and foremost. I guess we'll see, but I hope they do talk about the changes coming to the NS version over the mobile version at some point.
