So how bad is the Switch stock situation?

I ordered one from there yesterday and now I'm waiting. The shipping prices are indeed dumb but I couldn't physically go there so.... no choice.
Yeah I got the grey Zelda Pro bundle. I feel like such a sucker haha but I've been trying for months and E3 pushed me over the edge.
No problems, but their shipping prices are dumb.
Yeah such a big purchase and no free shipping, I'm so used to that from other retailers.

I have the cash right now to get the Zelda bundle but I have Zelda on Wii U already and would probably just Sell Zelda the moment I got it (unless it's digital).

Are you my twin? Did the exact same thing.

It feels so good to not have to look anymore.

Meanwhile in Sweden there are so many in stock several retailers have dropped the price by 200 SEK (~$20). >_>
Dropped back you mean?

It's still weird how I preordered it and got it at launch for €309 (and in France people for 299 or less), and then it became 340 everywhere and then 370. One of the only times being an early adopter actually gave me a monetary advantage.

Random question, but does anyone know the situation about these Switches being bent out of the box still? It was a big deal back then, but Nintendo fix the situation?

It was never that low in Sweden, launch-price was around €380 or more here, now several retailer av lowered their prices with ~200SEK (~$22 / ~€20) from the price they had at launch.

Had one in my cart for Best Buy online, realized my wallet wasn't on me, drove home, out of stock. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Went to the local Media Markt in Heerlen (Netherlands) to purchase the joy-con bundle, and I saw seven Switch consoles standing there.

Two Grey's, five Neon's

Go get them, if you live nearby.

E3 sold me on one but i gotta wait until the 30th to get one, and Zelda. Am i gonna be up shit's creek without a paddle by then? Seems like (from posts in this thread) theyre fairly available at the moment at Best Buy and other places....

How tf is this thing still not readily available?

Because Nintendo is trying to push this "forced demand" till they can.

Or maybe you could try reading the thread (it was literally quoted twice already this page):

Because there totally isn't a shortage of NAND chips right now

NAND Flash shortage

NAND chips are in high demand and Nintendo is effectively competing with every other company that uses them. Nintendo has upped their production numbers twice now, but it's still impossible to make something if they physically can't get the required chips.

Had an unexpected energy bill refund today. Thought to myself cool! I'll get that switch and Zelda. Nope, no stock at any retailer I'd personally trust (UK). Getting some decent Bluetooth headphones instead.

They're losing out on impulse buys not having this damn thing in stock

I overpaid and got a set of neon joycons! Now I can go all blue and all red! 😊

This thing is like the NES, getting a matching second controller is as rare as the system itself.

Went out this morning locally (Halifax, NS) to find a grey one. They had 4 at Walmart, and a full shelf of like 8 or 10 at the nearby Bestbuy. All red/blue though. Still bought one, eff it. We're not an area that tends to get a lot of stock when there's a hardware drought on, so either the stock situation is starting to even out everywhere or we got lucky.

You guys that have stores with like 20 Switches in stock, plz ship me one and i'll paypal.

Was asleep during that bestbuy window today.

That sucks. You gotta set up a paypal account. You could have avoided that.

I've got one but the payment info (credit card) was expired. Lol. It was my own dumbass fault for not having my wallet on me. It was a funny coincidence of that happening (which like never happens), plus my wife was not reachable (which also doesn't generally happen).

It seems like continuing to follow one of those stock trackers will work out eventually.

Guys, istocoknow.com works.

Tips:

Put all the Targets in your are or immediate area on your notification list.

You will get notification throughout the day but best bet are the ones that you get late at night, overnight or very early morning

The chances are good that those Targets that show in stock overnight will have them in the morning when they open

Go to said Target and buy your said Switch! You can even call just to confirm

Enjoy your new Switch!

Apparently works for Walmarts too but I don't have any Walmarts near me to verify..

I checked iStockNow, but for some reason, no retail targets are showing up in Seattle.

I managed to get one last night , popped into a Walmart at 8pm and got the feeling they'd just stocked up. Sold out of arms though so I basically spent 450$ Canadian to play blaster master (it's fun!)

I've mentioned here before that I see them all the time at Walmart.

Still, Nintendo really needs to fix its production speed. I get the Switch isn't as profitable for manufacturers than phones and tablets, but this is crazy. I thought that by mid-July they would be readily available. Guess not.

Can't fix what ya can't control. If the chips aren't available that isn't on Nintendo.

You realize that companies can look ahead into the future and take care of their supply chains ahead of time, right?

Like, if Samsung's newest phone required a part that Apple bought up with contracts beforehand and they ended up at half-manufacturing capacity at launch, nobody would be going "Poor Samsung, it's out of their control!" They'd be going "Haha Samsung, take that L."

I never knew that companys can see in the future and see the actuall demand for their products. Seriously, thats totally bullshit.
What if nobody would buy the system and they would have produced 5 million in advance. Storage costs would be gigantic!

Me too, around the same time from Walmart Canada. :)

I used the old "we might never see them in stock again" argument to convince my wife. But I may be in trouble for my eStore spending.
