...Why did we all omit Fata Morgana?

I'm assuming that that's done with since both relevant parties were already notified ^-^

Exactly. The success of the Fata Morgana tweet and everything that followed actually kicked of this vote. It sounds like something with Fata Morgana Vita might be happening, at least the parties involved are already talking. From the LRG E3 stream:
about Fata Morgana

It's something that we're constantly trying to do. Doug has talked several times with the creator in Japan [...] will meet with him again at Anime Expo.

[...]Something that we think deserves a release, something that we really, really would like to do.
That's the best we can hope for, getting the people involved to talk to each other.

Fortunately it was the last call for the votation so it should be over relatively soon.
The result list will probably be useful eventually so I'm glad for japanese game aficionados it was made. But then basta ^^

Thanks for your patience. Yup, it will all be over soon ;)

I'm curious to see the lists. I think a lot of people added dream titles to their plausible lists, though :x

Which is why I thought it deserved a general list, because no one really knows what's plausible and what's not, but it'll be very interesting nonetheless.

I think it depends how much people are aware of the titles, and what's currently going on with the publisher.

Maybe have a wishlist and dreamlist separate, and then a general count of everything.

The idea was to come to some kind of consensus with a couple of realistic/not impossible picks. I thought the problem with a general list could be that everyone just picks their dream games and we end up with 30+ games with 3-6 points. I also thought there might be more discussion followed by vote editing though, it's true that some games are pretty evenly split between both categories.

Good that you guys mentioned it, we can just separately add up the points from both lists and see how that changes things. Agreed that it's interesting as well.

The vote is now closed, thank you all for participating!

Results in about 30 minutes, looks like we have 3 games in each category that won the Top 3 spots.

Can someone describe Furi to me? I've looked at screenshots and videos, and I'm still not exactly sure what kind of game it is.

Its a boss rush action game. Basically its a series of one on one fights against bosses. The action is a mix of fast paced sword combat and bullet hell shoot em up sections. Bosses will often switch between close quarters attacks and bullet hell sections depending on the phase.

Its pretty darn tough as well, as each boss battle is broken up into unique phases and some of them are pretty demanding on the hardest difficulty setting (the final phase of "The Burst" boss battle is nuts). Basically if you like character action games with very tight combat and excellent boss design then this is the game for you. I've been addicted to the game for the last few weeks (finally got the platinum trophy last week!). Its one of those games that starts out tough but once the mechanics click you won't be able to put the game down.

Here are a couple of vids of hard mode that I took if you need to see what the game is like in motion:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsL9r1rfRms&t=4s (The Line Furier difficulty)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5ICTc7Ipwo (My favourite boss battle - The Hand)

Can someone describe Furi to me? I've looked at screenshots and videos, and I'm still not exactly sure what kind of game it is.

Top down No More Heroes with a weirder story, and no mini-games between bosses.

Fantastic soundtrack and interesting worlds. I want to pick it up because it was my GOTY of 2016 and I like having physical versions of my GOTYs.

Congrats to the Winners and Thank You all for voting!

Big thanks to Shizuka for starting this thing and coming up with all the suggestions, Aokage for his current and future photoshop magic, Kresnik258, Shinriji and everyone else who put in time to "build the list" (to shamelessly steal a phrase).

And thanks everyone who doesn't care one bit about Japanese Vita Games for letting us do our thing without getting annoyed ;)

Now it's up to everyone who voted to "socialmedia the shit out of this":

@LimitedRunGames
@LimitedRunDoug
@LimitedRunJosh
@ ... Japanese Publishers/Devs of the games [edit: see post below]

Maybe we can get some of the parties involved to talk to each other!

some stats:

35 people voted

number of games on the initial list: 80

number of different picks for "Dream Game": 37

number of different picks for "My Pick": 38

edit: I'll post a "what-if" list of points from both full lists added up later in this thread.

And please feel free to double-check the results, it's possible I overlooked an late edit or something like that.

(3, 2 & 1 point) any kiseki games will work as dream games. bring them all.

(1 point) i don't know what else to pick. any dungeon crawler really or something else that's interesting.

===

last wall-of-text post from me for a while, promise.

looks like Shizuka was right, Net High did really well if the vote isn't split.

Good stuff! How many mockups shall I do...?

Top 3 each and Net High, Top 5 each if you don't mind; something like that. Or we can do the overall Top 10 if people prefer that.

The whole point was to see if we can agree on a couple of games, looks like we can :)

Pretty nice guy (apart from the blue shadows thing...)
Now that the poll is complete, I'd like to suggest a brilliant PS Vita/PS4 cross-play, cross-buy, cross-save game too few people are aware of that LRG could theoretically license immediately.

20160717093850f2a.jpg

It's called Bunny Must Die: Chelsea and the 7 Devils, and it just might be the best Japanese PSV/PS4 indie game.

Developed by minuscule dojin studio PlatineDispositif, it is already available in the West, albeit in the form of a significantly inferior version on Steam.

Released last October for PSV/PS4, Bunny Must Die may look like e janky Toho fan game. It is anything but.

A brilliantly-designed Metroidvania with two playable characters and a late-game Symphony of the Night-esque twist (think Inverted Castle, but not), this little piece of software is the most pleasant surprise I have ever discovered on the JP Vita store.

Incredibly tight control, more depth than you might believe, stunning music, a Platinum trophy, and cross-platform save compatibility are all cool things, right?

Well, there's something arguably even cooler about it.

It's fully localized. As far as I know, the only region it's available in is Japan.

I cannot say enough good things about it, and urge Limited Run Games to check it out as soon as possible.

The JP version runs in english on my vita. Fun game. I probably didn't like it as much as you, but much, much better than that Double Focus Trash.

I will admit I am a pretty serious Metroidvania fan. And yes, on Vita it runs in English if your system language is set to English; on PS4 it's freely selectable.

Huh! Wasn't the LRG Broken Age for Vita supposed to have a separate Trophy set? Mine arrived today...

Not that such things mean much to me, but I wonder if this is in error :O
