Have you guys watched COD WW2 gameplay?

If you would've told me it's World at War gameplay I'd byte. This shit is getting ridiculous. How can you compete with something like Bf1 or Battlefront with this?

This looks way more appealing to me than BF1. I don't think I'm alone in thinking that.

I'm really looking forward to this cod for the first time in a looong time.

Because CoD is more popular than both and at least in the case of BF1, it'll actually have a campaign that doesn't feel like a complete afterthought.

They aren't really competing cuz cod out sells them every single year it's not even close. I prefer a modern setting in cod but I'll check out the beta.

Oh, and what the fuck are trying to achieve by censoring swastikas other than being complete idiots?

Didn't check, but I thought Bf1 sold way better than last year's Cod? Could be wrong though.

It's pretty weird seeing and hearing females in a WWII shooter since it's very rarely been done in games before, especially when that's all you can hear. Seriously, every ten seconds: "WWAAHHHH". Hopefully they reduce the death screams because it over empowers other essential sounds like explosions and footsteps.
It does seem clumsy. These are dangerously thorny conversations to enter into, but it does feel difficult for Sledgehammer to simultaneously tout the historical accuracy and the attempt at respecting the real life experiences of the soldiers in these battles and to also design in something so strikingly inaccurate.

Obviously they're in a tough spot, caught between an entirely admirable attempt at inclusion for female players, and the desire to portray a war people are highly familiar with in an accurate manner. It is of course obviously also true that multiplayer is not the place for pure simulation of reality, and is always rife with absurdities. Nonetheless, these are real historical battles, and indeed veterans of these battles are still alive.

It is undeniably jarring to jump from documentary footage to this, and to note these obvious inaccuracies. Playing an American GI roasting German women alive en-masse with a flamethrower... somehow that doesn't exactly feel like the most sensitive and respectful depiction of this moment in history. It strikes a rather odd and sour tone. This isn't the exploitation revisionism of Wolfenstein, this is ostensibly a tribute to the experiences of those involved in this conflict.

I'm not saying I know the right way to deal with these issues, but I do think there is a conversation to be had. There is more to that than just some kind of neanderthal reactionary backlash against inclusion. These questions are difficult when you're dealing with real life battles in which countless people died, all within living memory.

It looks like the CoD MP we've come to love/hate, just in WWII.

Speaking for myself, after having sunk about 60 hours into BF1 on the PC, that looks rough. VIsuals aren't everything but wow. Makes me appreciate DICE all that much more.

60 hours is a lot? You really sunk that time in there...

Battlefield 1: "it's BF4 with a WWI skin on it."

CoD WWII: "it's CoD with a WWII skin on it."

Swastikas are not censored in campaign, only in multiplayer and zombies.
And Infinite Warfare was the best selling game of 2016 even with all that negativity around it. CoD WW2 is most likely going to be best selling game of 2017, again.

Wait these are in?

They are two core concepts of the modern cod mp gameplay, sure they are in. I love the new cod and can't wait to play it.

People honestly expecting even the slightest amount of historical accuracy from a cod multiplayer cannot be taken serious tbh.

It looks better than I was expecting as far as the gameplay goes. War looks like a mess but the TDM clips look fun as hell.

First cod i will be buying since Modern Warware 3 day 1 so yeah it looks good to me

Sound design also sounds amazing, and graphics look stellar

Are we going to see a xbox one bundle with cod or because sony has the marketing rights that's out of the question?

Multiplayer looks the same as it ever has. I'll be Red🅱️oxing for the campaign. I fell for the old "it's gonna be new and refreshing!" Spiel for COD twice already. Never again.

I'll play the beta but I can already see it get boring super fast like MWR.

Plus a friend told me there's no dead silence so you already know competitive and SnD is fucked.

I was thinking about getting this game after many years break from COD. I understand what you are saying. It seems off. Yes maybe most games will compared to Dice. Hoover, it's like the whole game is just too smooth and not real. Additionally, the jump animation lol mario COD.

I watched it as well and thought "Yeah, this looks like COD alright."

I'm glad they moved away from the wall running and double jumps of past iterations, but I can't see this holding my interest for any long periods of time. The formula is just tired at this point.

Like most (?) Of you I was excited for this game. COD returning to its roots, boots on the ground and multiplayer resembling the glory days of the series.

I was impressed up until I searched for some gameplay and at first, I thought it was typical YouTube bait and switch. Showing a different game that the title describeds.

Take a look for yourself. There are plenty of other videos available as well, I have not seen them discussed other than the trailer. Everything about it looks so budget. It seems that the series needs a complete reboot, essentially changing everything we know about it other than the name. Does anyone else feel like this a game that would be showcased 10 years ago?

There was an entire thread with multiple pages during E3 discussing the gameplay videos.

Looks pretty good, I don't like the UI but the look of the campaign, War, Headquarters, the firing range and the divisions have almost sold me. Will be there day 1 if the Beta has 60hz servers, if it's still the same 10hz/30hz hybrid my money won't touch this game. I can deal with micro transactions and map packs, but when the actual online experience is pure garbage due to Activisions sheer incompetence and greed I just cant support it. Playing Infinite Warfare was just unacceptable with that netcode, even though I LOVED the campaign I regret giving them my money because of that netcode. When games like Siege, Overwatch and even Battlefield 1 have 60hz it's unacceptable.

How is in on the previous CoD games? Or was Infinte Warfare your first CoD game?

I'm just hoping it will have a good campaign but I'm almost sure it won't. The multiplayer looks like a Benny Hill routine, as usual. No directionality or sense of unified effort, just a bunch of people running around.

Are there any games that offers that when playing with randoms?

To be fair, that footage from Jackfrags was kinda shitty. The way it cut between players really didn't give any sense of unified effort or point. It played like a typical YouTube killstreak mix or some bullshit

I thought this vid from Playstation Access did a much better job of showing War-Mode from beginning to end and giving a complete sense of how a match played out
