I've been waiting desperately for this but man, that cover is some b-grade, ill-fitting, amateur-ish shit. What in the holy hell?! This soundtrack is one of the greats and this is how you present it? The fuck is going on with this choice Mondo? Just use the damn stock box arts or logos if you can't contract proper pieces.

Mondo is, first and foremost, a modern art company. I don't think this is necessarily terrible art (I kinda like it...) but yeah... Mondo. New art is their #1 goal.

Same here and I don't really like splatter in general. Not a fan of that cover either.
I know what they do- they can do it better. Plenty of examples of that.
Look at their recent Edge of Tomorrow vinyl, for example. That's classy and original; design done well. Hell, even if you didn't like the CV1 cover art, you could at least argue it was illustrated or executed well. This CV4 cover artwork is a joke, and makes it look like a fan album.

There's no mention of it being gatefold at all. Would be kind of weird if this is the only one in the series that doesn't come in a gatefold jacket.
The 4LP seems to imply that it'll have a gatefold so maybe they're just leaving it as a surprise. I think that back cover looks awesome too.

I'm good with the art. The bigger surprise is that the limited vinyls themselves continue to look worse than the standard. That blood splatter is awesome.

That art is not good but at least you can tell it's supposed to be for something Castlevania, unlike that visual crime they tried to pass off as Castlevania III art.
And it's not like they don't have the talent to do these right if they insist on using their poster artists, Castlevania II and Contra III look fantastic.

Even if it was another case of Mondo's odd aesthetic direction for this series, at least it was an interesting illustration (that was technically well drawn) to puzzle over. The SCV4 one is just bland and bad. I'd take CV3's theme any day over that generic thing we are getting.
Yeah agreed. I'm going to go splatter. If I had the curse variant for 2 I'd get it for the sake of completion but luckily I don't!

It's not a 4LP box, just a regular 2LP. And those are often in a single cheap sleeve. Although all Castlevanias so far have been gatefold so i don't see a reason for this not having one.
The art is very bland, an attempt at an 80's saturday morning cartoon...for...some reason?

Don't ever read into what they tweet. They essentially mass retweet game stuff in general, but doubly so if someone says "Hey wouldn't it be cool if XXX got an LP release?!". If you started tweeting about wanting a vinyl for Superman 64 they would probably retweet it.

That's actually downright reasonable for a one of their releases.
It's nice to see these companies working together for better distribution across continents.
Unrelated... does anyone know which companies Microsoft has used for each of their vinyl releases? I know a bunch of their releases ended up with iam8bit, but I'm wondering more about which ones were released elsewhere.
Basically... I'm trying to anticipate if a certain new title gets a soundtrack released by iam8bit, or if there's any chance MS takes their business elsewhere, especially because the composer doesn't seem fond of them.
Sucks. 140 is a cool little game, but I can not support them anymore.
Not as bad as their other stuff. I think $20 Would be a better price

My wife just let me know my copy arrived in the mail today. Less than 2 weeks from the UK to Canada. Unfortunately I'm away until Friday on a business trip, but at least I know it's waiting for me.
