Just DAMN. I fully expected Humanz to be my AOTY, but it was pretty disappointing. Nothing else has stuck with me so far this year.

Oiseaux-Tempête - AL-'AN ! (And Your Night Is Your Shadow / A Fairy Tale Of Piece Of Land To Make Our Dreams)

This is the one that stands out for me. It's post-rock in the footsteps of goodspeed you black emperor, but with more than enough personality to stand on its own in a genre prone to cliches. Lots of stuff going on (great basslines, analog synths, woodwinds, drones, spoken word samples), a middle-east theme, some jazz influences. Big and emotional without being "epic" for its own sake.

Mac DeMarco- This Old Dog is my favorite so far

Moonchild-Voyager
Niia- I
Fleet Foxes- Crack up
Phoenix- Ti Amo
Future Islands- The Far Fields
Sampha- Process
Slowdive- Slowdive
Mary J. Blige- Strength of a Woman

HUMANZ was dissapointing.

Really looking forward to Calvin Harris, Beach House, Washed Out new albums

Probably the Ryuichi Sakamoto album.

Titled: Async

Might be the only record from this year that I heard so far. I don't really listen to music based on release date though even though I like music a lot.

I heard the Deluxe version of California from Blink-182 and that only made me more sad about Tom's departure as everything without him has been mostly boring and uninventive.

Oh wait I did listen to the new Slowdive. That was good.

The only two albums I've listened to this year would be Humanz and Compass. Not really big on the current music scene, but some stuff peaks my interests every now and then.

Mew - Visuals
Slowdive - Slowdive
Los Campesinos! - Sick Scenes
Sylven Esso - What Now

Surprised by how good Slowdive's comeback was. I was excited for Humanz but it was massively disappointing.

Glad someone put Foster The People in here. Hope the whole album is as good as those three songs.

yeah i gotta get goths.

Still some albums I need to catch up on though, Goths in particular.

Check a look

It's so fricking good. Also John's first album without an acoustic guitar and damn does he still blow it out of the park. It's seriously my top album of the year so far.

Btw, if we're adding Game OSTs, then I have to add the Automata OST, Fire Emblem Echoes OST and Night in the Woods OST to my previous listing.

Willie Nelson - God's Problem Child

Colter Wall - Colter Wall

Gov't Mule - Revolution Come, Revolution Go

AJ Hobbs - Too Much is Never Enough

AJ Hobbs' debut album isn't really as good as the other three, but man it's fun to listen to on a long ride. Plus it does have some really good traditional country songs on it like Daddy Loved the Lord.

Short list so far, but I'm hoping to have a new one to add with the release of the new Lee Baines III + The Glory Fires album next week. Please be good.

Big fan of the new Pain of Salvation? Man I've been struggling with their material since Kristoffer was kicked out.

This one's much closer to The Perfect Element and Remedy Lane than anything on Scarsick & the Road Salts, so I'd say give it a chance if you haven't already.

I'm a BIG fan of the new album. I've liked all their stuff quite a bit though even after Kristoffer left. The new one does feel like a bit of a return to form despite that.

What site or program are you using to create such a collage?

I'm a graphic designer so I just made it myself in photoshop :p

Welp... I guess I won't be replicating that then haha.

1. Paramore - After Laughter
2. Royal Blood - How Did We Get So Dark?
3. Lorde - Melodrama

I've listened to a few other things this year but those are really the only things I've cared enough to want to rank. But next month is Arcade Fire and Queens of the Stone Age which is kind of insane, and considering what I've heard of them so far I'm hopeful.

Still to listen:
Lorde - Melodrama
Phoenix - Ti Amo
ONE OK ROCK - Ambitions

I really enjoyed Julie Byrne's album

Plenty good music coming out, but for some reason this one stood out for me the most so far.

I decided to check out King Gizzard upon the suggestion of a few people here. Coincidentally the new album came out a few hours ago and I'm currently listening.

I think I need a new pair of pants.
