Console owners - Have you been convinced to buy an Xbox One X ?

I'm a rather simple person when it comes to technology. Whenever I rent a movie it's in SD because it's cheaper and if I watch a disc it's a DVD and not a bluray. I simply don't think that the surcharges for the quality is equal to what you actually get. I've also held off on buying a PS4 Pro, because, in head to head comparison videos, I can barely see a difference.

So no, I'm not getting one, in all likelyhood.

I can't imagine watching a DVD over a bluray.

I was seduced by the system and specs, but was turned off by the games. If more exclusive games that appealed to me were available, I would get one.

Nope. Already have a PS4 Pro + gaming PC that runs circles around it. Could win me over with games, but to date I've never been even slightly interested by an Xbox exclusive game.

I'll get one eventually but I'll be getting a 4K TV and Pro first. I'd be in a bigger rush to get it if I didn't have a capable PC. So I can get my MS exclusives on that for the time being.

I can't imagine the Xbox having much to offer people with beefy PC's and a way to play them in their living rooms.

Xbox ecosystem is lacking exclusives. why would I invest $500 on a system just so I can squint my eyes to notice any IQ differences with games I can play on PRO. Not worth it.
can't get over this post, like its crackin me up. anyone see the comedy in it?

If I buy a 4K TV I'll get an XB1S for the 4K bluray drive. I have a pc so I don't need a powerful Xbox, But I will need a 4K bluray player and the S will be even cheaper by then

I'm getting it but I get all the systems. I have a pro but friends are on xbl so this will be a welcome addition.

It's too early to tell. Anyone who says otherwise is either rich or frivolous.

Once it is on the market for several months I'll make my decision.

Indeed, I am upgrading to a Sony XE 9005 (ironically enough) to go with this console. Will be playing Witcher, AC Origins and a few others initially.

Really looking forward to it.

Almost due to multiplats gonna look and feel much better on the xbonex than ps4.

Maybe in 2 years when they release unannounced exclusives that are not halo, gears, forza. But then, Next Gen will probably near.

Nope.
Xbox as a console has died for me.
My PC destroys it and the only exclusive I like(gears) is on PC.

PS/Nintendo/PC has become the trinity

Last gen i owned both the 360 and ps3. This gen i only went with the ps4, because i dont play halo or gears anymore and find myself enjoying ps4 exclusives. If the xbox x gets exclusives that i want to play, i might pick up the xbox x.

I bought an Xbox to experience Halo. I bought an Xbox 360 off the promise of Rare and had a net positive experience until the Kinect distraction and late-generation first-party drought. I was cautious but hopeful for this generation. It never quite came together with a must-have title for me, and it looks like it isn't going to.

The hardware team really stepped it up with the S and the X. The latter is an especially stunning achievement, and yet I feel no compelling need to own either one.

By way of contrast, I had a completely wait-and-see attitude regarding the Switch after feeling burned by the Wii U. The hardware is completely off-target for me (I'm not a mobile gamer, plus I own a 4k TV and I'm completely sold on HDR) but with just a few software announcements (Fire Emblem, Metroid, Mario + Rabbids) I'm out scouring retail outlets just in case I stumble across one.

I got a PS4Pro at launch just for the added benefit of faster loading times and at a minimum, some resolution bumps. I did not even own a 4k tv but the pro compelled me to buy a 4k tv to see what I was missing out on. I can honestly say I have absolutely no regrets buying either. It's sounding like the Xb1X will be delivering more content in 4k I'm absolutely going to buy this day one. I'm just glad I held off buying the Xb1s and stuck with my OGXb1.
very excited for this one

Nope..not at all. Not even considering PS4 Pro still and I have a 4K TV. It's too soon for 4K gaming. Already got a nice visual bump on PS4 with HDR.

Nah. 4k is definitely cool, but I can't factor a purchase on that alone. Prettier graphics on third party games just doesn't do it for me.

Zero interest.

Perfectly happy with my PS4, nothing the XB1X (or however to shorten it) has interests me. And I never go for the most current stuff anyway.

You guys realize you can play multiplats on it as well.
Red Dead 2, Anthem & Far Cry 5 will look great on it.

Besides XB1 does have older exclusives worth playing.

Ryse
Sunset Overdrive
Forza Horizon 2
Forza Horizon 3
Forza 6
Gears of War 4
Halo Master Chief Collection
Halo 5
Halo Wars 2
Quantum Break
Ori and the Blind Forest
Dead Rising 3
Rare Replay
D4
Killer Instinct

Then we have coming

Crackdown 3
Forza 7
Ori and the Will of the Wisps
Sea of Theives
Super Luckys Tale
State of Decay 2

Plenty of timed exclusives such as

The Last Night
Tacoma
Code Vein
Ashen

Im sure playground, the coalition & 343 are working on games.
Perhaps even some new IPs as Phil Spencer said he has signed off on new games.

While I would really like one, PS is still my main squeeze and I have a Pro. $500 while a good price is too much for me.

E3 did convince me to rebuy a Xbox One S. currently playing through Halo Wars 2 and loving it.

Though I am in a dilemma as Xbox is introducing returns soon, and that would be amazing but then I would have to deal with "standard" graphics on a 4k tv.

I wouldn't say "convinced", but I will buy one simply because I'll have the funds and I'm looking to upgrade my TV. Might as well make sure I have a console that can output at 4K and why not get the best on for that Job?

Nope. Console generation isn't going to last long enough for it to be worth it to me, especially with the first party coming out of Microsoft. Third parties will be fine enough on PC or Pro.

Nope but I think they have created a very nice refresh aside from the CPU (though I understand their reasons for keeping it). It seems a lot of thought went into it. I'm waiting for the next gen of consoles. They won't be shackled to the current gen.

BTW, I owned a OG Xbox, a 360, and now a PS4. Halo was the only Xbox exclusive that I was really interested in (Gears also but to a much lesser extent) and so far it doesn't seem like I am missing out on that much. If MS wants me to buy one of their consoles, it needs to be both powerful and have exclusives that I want to play.

Code Vein is a timed exclusive? I must have missed that announcement.

Code Vein is not timed exclusive. It was just shown at their conference. That information is incorrect. The original reveal of the game was in Dengenki Playstation in Japan.

Nope.

I dont care for the "most powerfull" stuff and thats all Ms has to over. If I ever feel the need to play some stunning games I have a good pc. One S is still enough for Bc and for the rest I use my pro. Also dont want to spend 500$ for a console upgrade.

I thought so. I was doing some searches after that post and didn't turn up anything concrete, anyway.

No. I know the tech is impressive, but I'm not really planning on upgrading my console until we reach whatever gen stops supporting current gen's games and I'm therefore forced to do so.

Prettier graphics are nice, but if I wanted to buy into an ecosystem of perpetual upgrades, I would have just bought a PC.

- I'm not interested in Xbox exclusives.
- Is nonsense to pay $499 for upscaled current gen. 1080 is perfect.

I think it is a impressive machine but I have no plans to buy a 4K TV anytime soon and I barely even play the Xbox One I have right now, really no point in dropping $600 Canadian on the Xbox One X.

Not the right price , no games that interest me and i already have a pro.

I just don't see the need for the Xbone X

This. I have sold my xboxone couple of months ago and their conference did nothing for me, if anything it made me feel better about my decision to drop their product due to lack of new content.

Don't have a 4k tv. Actually I don't even have a TV. I used computer monitors. And i'm quite happy with my 1080p monitors.

Long story short, I'm happy with the plethora of options I already have - gaming PC, XB1, PS4 and Switch.

I'm waiting for the PS5. Hopefully Sony makes a decent controller next time.

Nope.

First party lineup is dire and the PS4 Pro is more than adequate for my third party titles.

I also don't want to pay for two subscriptions. I can afford it, but it feels like throwing money away.

Anthem looks cool, sorta, but it is not going to look like that when it releases in three years.

Sony setting industry standards again.

What does "release unannounced exclusives" even mean?

I'll preface this by saying I don't yet have a current-gen console. But from what I've heard, I much prefer X's approach to improving resolution/performance across the board (whether marginal or not) regardless of dev intervention. It sounds like a much more sensible plan than relying on sheer hope that devs will take the time & resources to utilize the better hardware.

With that said, I'm still eyeing the PS4 for the Yakuza games and certain Koei-Tecmo exclusives. And even if I was console-only I'd prefer it even more so for other games like SFV & KOFXIV.
