This is the first time I really got stuck into a Steam sale since getting my gaming PC about a year ago!

Some neat stuff in there although perhaps you'd be better off subscribing to the current Humble Monthly and getting DS2:SotFS that way. It costs the same as DS2 on Steam but when it unlocks you'll get DS2 + 5 other currently unknown games.

My wishlist has 9 games, and even I'm thinking of cleaning it up, seeing as one of the games was pulled from Steam (Bookworm Adventures 2,) and one has been on my list since 2014 and I never bit even when it was down to 5 bucks (Arkham Origins.) I might even remove Zesty Tales since I gave Symphonia a try and just couldn't get the knack of it.

I'll likely bite on Trillion and Kathy Rain.
Probably the better modern Tales game to get is Berseria. Maybe replace Zesteria with that if you're stilll willing to give the series a shot.

Infinite Warfare was pretty damn good if you don't mind space stuff.
Modern Warfare seems the obvious answer here. I've only played a few of them though.
Modern Warfare and very first Call of Duty were great, but they might feel outdated now. But they're definitely better than hot garbage that Infinite Warfare was, don't buy it.
MW for the sheer highs, but my favorite overall is MW2 because that game does not give a fuck about giving a fuck about anything. It's a ridiculous thrill ride where not all moments stick but moments like taking back the White House... Ha.

Also, you get to be RAMIREZ!
Thanks all. Think I'll go with Modern Warfare. Though would it be better to wait for the remaster?

Hmm, this is really weird. The Witcher 3 won't even start up now, and Assassin's Creed Unity keeps crashing. I haven't overclocked my GPU myself. I have power management mode to adaptive.

To New Xanadu Next players:

1) If you run into what feels like framepacing/performance/stuttering issues, download/extract this DX8 wrapper and place it in the game folder - https://github.com/ThirteenAG/d3d8-wrapper/releases/tag/1.5 - make sure Direct3D8DisableMaximizedWindowedModeShim is set to 1 in the ini file. That's it.

2) If you're playing with a controller, I do recommend trying Steam's controller support and setting the Right Stick to Mouse. It makes inventory management much easier. I do have a public config up for DS4s, it should translate over to any dual analog controller.

Did Humble Bundle change their policy on BTA recently? I just noticed that the last Bundle I used the "two tabs trick" didn't actually get all any of the BTA games.

Shit, I had already purchased Ori. Guess I'll be refunding the definitive edition. I wish enhanced steam would have warned me that was in my library already.

Except I can't, as it will remove both games from my account, but only refund me for one purchase. WTF Steam!

Finally got Prey downloaded with Steam's bullshit download speeds today.

Looks like it's really well optimized. A bit weird that I had to turn off vsync to go over 30 FPS though...

Ori DE comes with a free copy of Ori. I'm guessing JaseC can give pointers on what to do if you bought Ori first and Ori DE afterwards during this sale, if there is a way to refund Ori while keeping the DE and the free Ori copy it comes with.

You know, that may have been what happened. I just happened to see two versions in my games library. Also, since I didn't have the $5 coupon for DE in my inventory, I'm now leaning toward that being the case.

Edit: And confirmed, it was not in my purchase history.

Thanks Lain.

What BTA policy? You beat the BTA, you get the BTA games. There is nothing that has changed.
If there was a possibility to pay less than BTA and still get the BTA games, then they probably fixed the exploit

Just picked up Wasteland 2 this time around. Backlog is too log for anything else!

I've been shilling for Wasteland 2 so much in this thread that it's really great to see atleast one picking it up. Have fun with it, I did! Need to get on that Directors Cut too sometime.

I had to phone HSBC and tell them it was me buying all those games :(

Won't make the mistake of loads of separate purchases again

Man...I really want Nier, but I don't know if I can justify paying 55 CAD for a broken game, fan fix mod or not. :/

I've got a i5-6600k @ 3.5GHZ, 16 GB of RAM, and a GTX 970. If I install FAR, should my computer be able to play nice with Nier?

questions about telltale's batman:
1. Is still laggy/buggy etc?
2. Is it like the other telltale games? With "fake" choices and only one ending?

1. Worked decently for me when I played it. Not flawless by any means, played it last year though. Got screen tearing which I was able to fix quickly with a work around.
2. Yeah the story largely is what it is and you only affect on how it's told. Just like in the last scene there are few variations on how exactly it plays out.

Surpised to hear complaints about Steam download speeds, just started installing Mafia 3 just to try it. 5mb/s. Located in Finland.

Edit: To be fair, it seemed to drop in 2mb/s now.

I've decided to buy other games instead max id pay for a game in that state is 5 euro or less

Not on steam, but its Titanfall 2

Titanfall 2's campaign's too short for the price they offer. Not worth it imo. Wait till it's cheaper.

I had the same setup as yours (except 6600k was oc'd @ 4.5ghz). With the FAR mod installed, Nier ran beautifully.

I don't get it. I've chosen this one in the Witcher 3 settings, but I can control my character with the left analogue stick but have to control the camera with my mouse. So controller+mouse. I also can't control the menus with my dpad.

New ones except for FFVII. I was looking at Pillars of Eternity but it looks like the developers have been up to some dodgy practice...

I've only ever played the first Assassins Creed a long time ago, if I only wanted to play maybe 2 or 3 games in the series which would be the ones to go for? 2, Unity, Syndicate?

Steam's controller settings is messed up. Look at it there.

I've just been modding Cities Skylines and Oblivion lately, haven't been playing anything!

The Publisher, Paradox, decided to update their prices for certain regions based on currency fluctuations. This did not go over well and they reverted the change.

Ugggghhh... I really don't want to buy that much this sale since I have such a decent sized backlog from that past couple sales and am somehow still grinding away with Blood and Wine for TW3, The Long Dark and PUBG.

Somebody convince me not to buy some of this stuff:

Really, Prey and Edith Finch are the 2 games I wanted from this sale since I can see myself realistically playing them before the fall/winter sale.

I've wanted Stellaris for a while even though I never was able to fully get into CK2 (which I want to try and get back to one of these days). How easy is it to get into Stellaris if you're not super familiar with Paradox grand strategy games?

Dragonspear I'll probably get just cause its pretty cheap and its an excuse to play some BG again. Although, maybe I could wait and get it later this year since I'll probably feel a little burned out on RPGs by the time I finish Blood and Wine...

And Ultimate General Civil War looks great since I Ioved Gettysburg when I got it on last year's summer sale but I'm just debating whether I want to get it now or maybe wait a bit.

I just hate looking at my Steam purchase history and seeing games like Soma, Planet Coaster or Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and I've barely touched any of them and now they're a fair amount cheaper than when I bought them.
