That would make the game look like a new entry. For a Smash 4 port they gotta stick with the "for" convention. And "for" wasn't really some boring number, it was a pun for the 4th entry. <_<

But it wouldn't be "for Wii U", that's just all sorts of confusing and implies that it would be a port only of the Wii U content which hopefully wouldn't be the case. For Switch doesn't imply a new entry at all, it runs by the same naming convention of the last game. A new entry will have an entirely new name like we saw from SSB -> Melee -> Brawl -> "for" -> [next entry]

4 Wii U came months after 4 3DS and nobody was under the impression that U was a new entry.

There are a couple reasons as to why we want it.

1. It didn't get its real chance on Wii U

2. We want all the shit that was on 3DS to be on the better version of the game

3.It'll be a little while before we get Smash 5, so why not just port 4?
