Reminder, this game is very story focused and while the gameplay isnt bad at all, you're missing the point if you don't enjoy and read the story.

I see people asking whether the text would reduce as we progress through the story and the answer is NO. It gets even longer and by the time you reached 6th Singularity (arguably the best chapter in the game- written by Nasu himself), the chapter is even longer than the first 2-3 singularities combined.

Got one with Heracles, Cu, Medusa, Medea, and a Kaleidoscope. Not sure if I'll get anything better than that without losing my sanity...

There should be a 15% chance of getting a 5* on each reroll.. I thought I'd get one by now :(

I'm pretty sure it's a 1% shot. Don't qoute me on that though.

Personaly I've done 10 rerolls and no 5*; I'm going to try emulating it on PC to run a bunch of them simultaneously and increase productivity.

Anyone have an answer to my earlier question about the visual novel scenes being voiced or not? I just want to make sure its meant to be unvoiced, or otherwise there's something wrong on my end, I guess.

Oh I'm gonna be an old man shouting at the sky for this but:

- 2x Battle Speed (a MAJOR improvement)
- enemy targeting (yeah wasn't present before :/)
- 40 saint quartz per 10-roll (4 per roll :/ DW plz)
- couldn't use HP/ATK Up cards when servants were maxed level
- no apples for AP recovery
- we didn't know what class enemies were in a quest
- daily login was bad back then (several revisions have happened since)
- numerous other UI changes everywhere
- multiple support servants, THEN multple support lists
- multiple locking (which isn't in the current US version)

Those are the ones that stood out for me personally. Here's the rest of them for posterity :p

Oof, thank god for QoL changes then.

It's unvoiced for me too; except for small sound clips.

No voices, unfortunately. You only get voiced VN scenes in special events and that has only happened once in the game's history.

When I start the game it crashes and pops open and email to support about why it won't work? I didn't see anything in the op on this.

1% chance but you get 15 rolls every reroll that have a chance of giving you a 5* unit.

What does the email say? There are quite a few error codes, but the most common one for Android is that you are rooted, have USB debugging on or Developer options on, or use a beta release of Android.

For iOS you cannot be jailbroken.

Ok, thanks! I got a bit spoiled with having quite a bit voiced stuff in Granblue, it seems. Ah well.

Yeah, it's understandable since they started with a low budget and in the later chapters the scenes are long as heck (they aren't lying about more than a million words) so they had couldn't afford the scenes I guess. Hope they patch in voiced scenes in the future.

Ok, question. After you click into the 5 cards, is there any way to back out to use skills and such? I can't find a way

Nope, skills can only be used before looking at your card hand.

It's meant to lock you into your choices (crit stars are distributed once you take a look at the cards, so no abuse that way).

Gotcha. Makes sense, though annoying for me who just clicks into things too fast

You can force close the app and it'll restart you on the turn you were on before clicking onto the cards. But that's even more effort than just making sure not to :p

Hmm...

- Grind the Ember Gathering quests for EXP cards. It's why I always try to roll for Tamamo Cat in the beginning - AoE NPs make farming and mobbing so much easier. I wouldn't waste AP on the Treasure Vaults at the moment (except for the Weekly Missions) - once the events roll in usually they give loads of QP.

- Level up whoever you're using. Levelling up servants increases their base HP and ATK. Try to have at least one servant of each class levelled to cover all bases, two of each with differing NPs is ideal (usually 1 for single target NP, 1 for AoE NP, 1 for support, etc.).

- HP/ATK Up is useful for adding a bit of meat to health or attack power, but the 3* ones cannot be rolled or dropped - only in the shop or as event rewards. You need 20 of each 3* HP/ATK Up card to max out a character (for the moment...).

- Ascending is more or less mandatory to hit level requirements. Save your mats for them, especially the rarer ones.

- When you can, level up the skills of the servants you use. Servants usually gain more skills after they ascend, and there are break points in the levelling that will reduce the cooldown of the skills by 1 turn (at Level 6 and 10). Some servants are basically usable (read: essential) because of their skillset. Levelling them up is a bugger though - skill mats are used for ascending too so you'll always be looking for the likes of Phoenix Plumes, Pages, Lanterns, etc. Events are a great way of replenishing these, grinding the Training Ground missions for mats isn't too bad, and later chapters will have levels that are better for farming specific mats. Crystallised Lore is required to max them out, and they usually only appear as end-of-chapter or event rewards, so use them wisely.

- Always look to level up your servants' NPs with duplicates. Duplicates are rarer for 4*+ but will usually improve their damage and effects massively.

- Make sure to do your Interludes and Strengthening quests. These give out gems and most improve skills/NPs of specific servants in your possession. Interludes will have certain requirements, like base Lv and/or Bonding Lv.

- Bonding Lvs matter more than most think. Bonding Lv 5 onwards produces quartz (or apples if low level servant), and Bonding Lv 10 gives you a servant-specific CE which boosts them and/or the whole party. You'll be grinding for those Bonding Points sooner or later (some shop CEs will help later on, so start saving those Mana Prisms!).

- Once you're happy with your servants' levels, you can grind the same Ember Gathering quests to burn the EXP cards. Gold and Silver EXP cards both burn for 1 Mana Prism, and doing the 30AP Daily Quest should reap you 8-9 Mana Prisms a run.

- 3* cards in general (servant/CEs/EXP cards) are OK for burning for mana prisms if you're not going to use them. I usually have at least 1 of each 3* Servant/CE and "limit break" them with 4 other duplicates before burning extras for mana prisms. Same with my 1*/2* CEs/servants, though burning them only gives pitiful QP and no mana prisms, and are usually not even worth using for EXP. As a side note, more or less all of the servants I have that are 3* and lower have maxed out NPs.

- 10-roll the FP when you can, especially now as we're all (re)starting and the card pool is much smaller. As I mentioned earlier, FP rolls give out the occasional 3* servant or CE, which can be burned if not required (see above) for more mana prisms. Plus, 3* servants are definitely usable and some 3* CEs are just budget versions of the "standard" 4*/5* CEs (Ley Lines is useful for starting a servant with some NP gauge charged, sorta like a budget Kaleidoscope).

- Try not to accidentally burn gold CEs and servants unless you really don't need them. There are more safeguards nowadays but it can still happen. Burning gold servants actually give up a Rare Prism, another currency to use on rare items in the shop.

At what point should I be leveling up my servants? When I start having trouble getting through stages? I tend to hoard mats in these games, saving them for hopefully good pulls later on.

Pretty much when you start to struggle, though if you want to start farming 30AP and 40AP Daily Quests for EXP cards, you might wanna level your best AoE NP servants as soon as you can so you can farm more efficiently. Besides, at the moment without Apples to replenish AP people won't be doing a lot of farming to begin with.

Don't forget that you're levelling your own avatar's levels as well - increasing your own level gives you higher max AP, higher maximum cost limit for your party and bigger friend list limit, while levelling up your Mystic Code (your current clothes) will reduce the cooldown of the master skills and improve their effectiveness.

And yeah hoarding mats is fine, every servant needs their corresponding class pieces (for ascending) and gems (for skills), except the Extra classes (like Ruler and Shielder) which need specific mats. Some mats are hard to find, and grinding from the story maps can be long. Cirnopedia's FGO site has all the info you'll need for what mats are required (also where to farm them in certain nodes) but it's very spoilery, use at your own peril. :V You can't really whale for mats in this game, so everyone suffers through the material grind (unless you're a whale who uses quartz for AP recovery).

So glad I checked reddit and saw the threads. I almost walked into this mission.

Yeah. The early "recommended level" indicators are actually there to keep you from wandering in and blowing all your bonus level up AP on daily quests your first few hours when you should be doing story quests instead, then you end up overleveled for the early story content and don't pace levels with the rate that you're doing missions and need to wait hours just to do trash mob levels.

Once you pass level 20 or so for the recommended level though, that changes to "if you wander in here under-leveled you're gonna get wrecked".

This is my first gacha ever. I rerolled once because everyone else was doing it and I only got a three star in my free 10 pull. My second game i got a Heracles (in auto 4*), Zhuge Liang (this is Waver?) and 2 5* essences which I have no clue if they are any good. Limited/Zero Over and Heaven's Feel.

Seems like a good start though, pretty happy!

I now know that MEmu exists, thanks! This'll definitely save some time.

Just to be sure: the official site for the emulator is memuplay right?

I used this guide to get it up and running https://youtu.be/1Gvd1dUuG2Q

This comes with the JP version pre-installed, so you'll need to install the US apk

Generally speaking a good indicator is that you would want Servants to reach the stage's recommended level and have a Berserker that leads the team in terms of damage. The story isn't really difficult until you reach later chapters so you can cruise through with low level Servants.

With the overflowing/stacking AP when you level up, you can easily clear the current story chapter in a week so if you would like maximise your playing time between the released chapters and the next ones, vary your EXP farming and story missions.

Based of previous posts in this thread, you've got a pretty good starting point.

Checked my gifts and saw Saber Lily in there. Is she guaranteed every time as I'm considering re-rolling right now... even though I do have Carmilla.

That's amazing and you're set until the late game with those two Servants alongside Mash. Equip L/ZO on your Heracles and cruise along the story with super high damage

Is there any point in the Free quests I see in the story maps? I'm guessing I should just be focusing on the actual story missions and dailies?

I'm purposefully avoiding using my 5 star servant for now so I can rank up bonds with other Servants that I like. As far as I know there are zero benefits to using any particular servant in battle other than leveling up your bond, because all XP and so on comes from drops, quest rewards, and the FP gacha.

With that in mind, what are the benefits to leveling up your bond besides waifu stuff?

The first time you complete a Free quest for the third time, you get a Saint Quartz. Besides that, you can farm for drops (since you can't replay story quests).

If you get a Servant's bond level to 10, you get a CE for that Servant. The effects range from meh to awesome.

You also get rewards like quartz and stuff for each level you get above 5. Generally higher rarity Servants give better rewards, but take far more bond points.

Sorry man. :/

I'm gonna get back to the re-rolling business shortly. Hopefully I can get another Waver and gift it to you.

Or garath, if he still wants. You might have to /fisticuffs him for it.

Localization isn't super fantastic but I feel like everyone complaining is pretending to be some expert and copying what other people are saying. Y'all have problems? Post your own examples. Not others.

It's so blatantly robotic and literal a translation. If you don't mind it then fine, but it's really not good enough to warrant asking for receipts.

No offense but I don't think this is just shitty localization. The writing is meant to sound mechanical and such. Have you READ other nasu shit? Yall aren't reading a book that's revered by literary veterans. lol. Like... idk what yall were expecting.

lmfao

It's an account with Carmilla, Vlad and Limited/Zero Over worth keeping or should I just keep re rolling till I get Weaver and Emiya/Heracles?

The only Nasu shit with anything that resembles a good localization is Fate/Extella and from what I've been told from JP readers Nasu and Sakurai both kinda phoned that one in compared to their other work.
