Usually the NP base attack is something like "300-500%" of your base attack value and the level 2 upgrade will improve that by +100%, with returns getting smaller for each subsequent level up.
I have Herc and Vlad and I still went with Tamamo Cat because I'll pick waifus over strength.

Right now, at level 50, my field is pretty much :
Main: Emiya - Lancelot - Support
Support : Herc - Cu - Kojiro
With Emiya as the one with the best capacity to gain NP early-on, and Lancelot as the early game bruiser, with Herc coming in as the clean-up. If Herc is also defeated, then Cu is there to cockroach it out in endurance. Kojiro is one last low-cost thing for extra damage, evade and critical stars for Cu.

She just seems awesome so I've only be using her as my support from otherr accounts.

My farming strategy is pretty simple. Herc on point, Kaleidoscope Altera behind, Waver in the support slot. Smash the first wave, try to collect an arts chain and/or activate Waver's NP boost skills, instant clear second wave with Photon Ray, activate Altera's NP steroid and nuke the boss with Hercules's NP. I tried Gil for a while but Waver adds a lot more consistency.
Gah. Guess it's better than waiting a year or something though. Definitely want to get her though, she's my favourite of the Sabers. Or well, Nero is pretty good too. But definitely no other choice for me.
My wallet is going to be hurting when she arrives. :lol

Lancelot before Herc? Except he's both less survivable and deals less damage...
I've been doing okay with Elisabeth as berserker support. Just buff that damage output starting from turn one, debuff the enemy, and fire off your buster chain (easier to make happen with more buster cards on your support). You'll never get your berserkers' NPs to go off anyway.
No one else you can pick has all those. Stats are also surprisingly solid - hits hard, tanks hits respectably.
(And I know this doesn't help but Gil with Lancelot is absolutely hilarious. Have Gil spit out 20+ stars for a turn, then have Lancelot suck them up and hit for >20k - assuming he's not already dead from random crits.)
Yeah, thankfully Nero is a 4*, so she should be too difficult to obtain. Mordred, on the other hand...
I just wish the "rate-up" was more like it is in Japan and not what we (seemingly) got. If you pull a 5* during rate-up in Japan, there's an extremely good chance that it's the banner character. Judging from Gilgamesh is though, if anything is rate is actually set lower than other characters. I know I pulled an Altria on my alt, and from the looks of it many others pulled her as well. Hell, a few people got two 5* in the same multi-pull with none of them being Gilgamesh. That's just broken. If the same applies when Mordred is released, I fear for us both.
The lone 5* I have in Altera, I got summoning off of Gil's banner so there might actually be something to that. Not encouraging though, lol.
I've resolved not to spend any money on this game I could be spending on some other mobile games I've put more time into already. But if I start getting desperate...
This is exactly what I was just thinking. This looks broken. I have multiple 10 pulls on the 3-day re-roll I did that had 3-4 5* cards that are duplicate or nothing but essences. I mean they were good cards but I want my Gil. That was just unfair

I don't see anyone having compiled data on this (hell, there's still one and a half weeks of Gil rolls to go).
I know it's anecdotal but I think the rate up is legitimately broken for US.

Wow, congrats, how long have you been at it? I started farming today for the same thing, but after using pretty much all my ap since this morning I've only gotten one so far.
I tried the friday daily too while it was up but never saw a single one, but since I got two reverse scales I can't complain too much.
Somehow I'm not worried about the game making enough money to keep going now.

I just checked out Mt. Etna since I need lanterns.
Nothing for the first two rounds of the free quest, then suddenly six chests from the last round including two lanterns.
By the way, check the interludes of all the servants you have and see which ones have ghosts. I got two lanterns from Carmilla's interlude.

Thanks to Lancelot's terrible QBBBA setup, without a CE to boost his NP gain ( don't have one yet ), getting his NP to 100% is really difficult without having him out early on.
And in general I'm still experimenting. Once I gain enough levels, I'll probably switch Lancelot out with Vlad. Right now I'm okay with a full-party.

I do something similar with my main farming setup. I have Altria and Tamamo up front and then usually have a Waver support, then Herc next on backline. The rest is dependent on affinity need. I've been able to farm the 40 AP daily easily for a while now with that.
Hell, my current setup on today's daily goes Altria/Tamamo/Support/Herc/Lancelot/Mash with Kaleidoscopes on the first two, lol.
That's not why. Almost all Berzerkers have that card layout. He just literally has about half the NP gain compared to other Servants with his card layout/hit count.
Presumably, DW felt that he would gain too much NP gauge back when using his NP or something, so nerfed his NP gain.

The way I play Lancelot, you'll never see his NP. Just have someone generate stars for him every turn so he can let off some crits before he dies.
Try Jeanne on support. It's not many stars, but it's something.

Hey, the game just updated.
Now you can trade your sixth copy of a 5* servant towards Gil! ...within the next 9 days.

Huh. I never even realised Gil was a limited servant. I figured he was an important enough character to have a permanent place on the summonable roster.
I'm well aware of Gil's critical star generating strengths. I've even slapped 'Be Elegant' on him for another 25%. The only problem I'd have is that I dislike him so much that I'd have trouble investing the resources and time to ascend him.
He's awful but he's great. It's really troublesome.
Still have a few slots open on my Friend List (Waver/Gilgamesh/Heracles/Marie/Lily Saber).

Someone on reddit provided some data on the rate-ups and the chance of you not getting a rate-up Servant is ~36%.
Based on my experience in games like XCOM (God damn rookies), that's a pretty significant chance to still get screwed.

Lancelot isn't even that good and you shouldn't be complaining about getting a Servant who is still 9.0 on the meme tier list with a less than 1% chance pull rate and no one actually knows how much less than 1%.

It's fun as hell. You have to look for every chance to squeeze a few more stars out of combat, which requires different thinking.
But you really need someone who makes gathering stars fun. For example, Gil does because he gets stars with Gate of Babylon spam with decent damage, instead of underwhelming Quick cards.
Don't forget Jeanne can support a crit team if it comes down to it.
Wait, but Lancelot's NP is a Quick NP. It's there to drop stars to set up his crits.
Is it worth doing at all if you can't do it early?

If you're using the AppMedia list as a basis than Berserker Lancelot is 9.5 on the SR rankings.
Considering that there's already a Level 95 Gilgamesh, this doesn't surprise me.
...I know, I don't understand it either.
I have one, it's not that hard. I already had 1 from the story, got 2 more when farming a daily for dragon fangs and then I just farmed Gaul for a couple of hours and got the rest.

... Not really. But the virtue of overleveled teams is that you cruise through dailies and story content, so mixing it up makes it more challenging rather than creating the 'ideal' team all the time.
I'm really enjoying FGO but since I'm not testing out too many different characters ( gotta hold them mats for other rolls I want ), so I extract extra little fun from changing stuff around.
Level 30 Kojiro makes Orleans really really fun, even if easy.
If you check 1 year tier list Cat is 9.0 and Lancelot is 9.0 too.
Why even bother to follow 2 year tier list if we are playing few weeks old game.

Saving quartz now, but not sure which banner I should roll for. Nero is first up, but I don't really like anyone else on the banner (esp since i have Altera already), Same for Tamamo. Okita is supposedly really cool and fun to use (and looks like Saber in a kimono), and the 4* is EMIYA which i also want. Maybe I should wait for V-day gatcha with Nero Bride and Tamamo =). What 4*s are on that banner? The notices don't say anything.

After I've achieved my fluffy tail goals I can start thinking about what to save for. I'd probably just focus on getting strong characters like Merlin, Jeanne Alter etc. But that's a ways down the line assuming I keep playing indefinitely.
