All firmware updatable 8Bitdo controllers are now Switch compatible!

The controller is working just fine on my Switch, but my PC games won't recognize the d-pad in game. I can control menus with the d-pad just fine, but whenever I get in game it doesn't do anything.

Has anyone run into this before? Attempting to play wired.

I've got a NES30 Pro and an FC30 Pro and the first keeps on being unable to pair with the Switch. I've managed to get them both to pair simultaneously once and then after the NES30 Pro will keep refusing to re-pair for subsequent sessions.

No issues with the FC30 Pro re-pairing after the Switch has been put in sleep. Anyone have any ideas? I managed to get the NES30 Pro once by downgrading the firmware to an older model and then re-upgrading it. But then the same problem occurred where it wouldn't re-pair afterwards. Driving me bonkers.

I got my NES30 to pair once and haven't had any luck since. No matter which Youtube guide I use to try and re-trace my steps, nothing works.

Got my two SNES pads. The D pad is definitely better than the Pro controller.

I really want a Sega six button pad for this thing now.

Finally got it to pair again...right after the testpunch! Ah well, Ultra SF 2 works like a dream and it seems like holding Select after hitting the pair button did the trick.

Bought a 2nd controller (SNES30) to play with friends when they come over and picked up USF2 Friday. Other than the dpad needing to be broke in, it indeed works like a charm.

The only problem I've noticed with this (the SFC30 version) controller was when the controller started dying, it became extremely laggy and unplayable. But I read you just need to charge it and it works fine. Did that and everything was back to normal.

So that's the only con I've noticed, but it's not really a big deal. You're gonna have to charge the controller anyways.

Got this working. Works pretty well for Mario kart 8.not so sure a game that uses all 4 shoulder buttons heavily will be the super comfortable. We'll see when I get zelda this coming week

Happens to me too. The Windows (10) settings show the inputs just fine, but games don't work with it correctly.

Is the D-pad on SFC/SNES 30 the same as the one on FC30/FC30 Pro ?

The problem with SFC/SNES 30 controllers is that I need those two extra triggers, mostly for 3 punch/kick button combos on Ultra SFII :(

Other than that I wouldn't hesitate to go with it, but the joyticks being bad is pretty disappointing.

What moves use all three kick or punches on USF2? Zangief's lariat?

I guess they're putting a "for Switch" logo on their boxes now according to this new Amazon image:

They changed the 8bitdo logo and font on the SFC30 controller too. It now says Super Gamepad instead of Bluetooth Controller.

What are the chances of 8bitdo making custom classic joy-cons with a traditional d-pad and no motion controls ?

Got my two SFC30's today and man they feel so good.
Feel like they are the perfect supplement to the NES30 Pro I have.

Now I only need that VC on Switch lol

My left analog stick for the FC30 PRO broke, it'll only register up movements as top right / right diagonal... gotta send it back for a refund now. Sigh ;/
Actually loved the controller too.

Anybody else having issues with connecting? Mine worked pretty well for a week or so, and then paired it to a friends Switch because he didn't have enough controllers.

I now can't get mine to pair back on the switch...

nvm, worked again for some reason...

Oka what do I have to do to get them to work with Steam BP mode? I got the NES30 Pro detected as xinput but in the games it just does nothing?

Oh wow, I just got around to updating the firmware on my SFC30 and trying it with MK8D and I was finally able to 3-star Special Cup 150cc. With a D-pad!

This is just lovely. I might just take the SFC30 to work now. I just need the Nyko portable dock they just announced and I'm set.

I fixed it, I wasn't really in XInput mode but Steam still recognized the pad. in XInput mode all works like a charm out of the gate.

Ordered a second SFC30 to hopefully get the old logo. I don't have a use for 2 until VC, but when that happens I'll want both controllers to match.

I just bought one of these 8Bitdo controllers.

The NES30 Pro variant.

I intend to use it as a wireless controller for Steam games, but I figured once I pick up a Switch eventually it can be used as an alternative to the Pro controller.

seems like 8bitdo have removed iOS compatibility with these updates. I really haven't seen anyone mention this fact anywhere, but yeah, any mention of iOS is gone from the new 4.0 user guide.

They removed PS3 and Wii support too, I just have the multiple firmwares on my laptop and swap them out when I need it.

It's mentioned in the update log for the new firmware and it's also mentioned in this thread.

iOS/iCade support was only in a handful of old games anyway.

So I received two NES 30 Pro controllers last week and while they look and feel great the lag is fucking horrible. I had a 4 player Tetris/Bomberman session and the controls would "stick" messing up my Tetris set ups or a bomber would keep moving in one direction. Sometimes you can really feel the lag and it sucks in fast paced games. Maybe the controllers work better when there isn't a lot of controllers already paired? But as they are now I don't recommend them. Am I the only one having issues?

Sounds like low battery. There should be no lag.

Did Nintendo changed something?

Now It only makes me pair one.

I literally saw how after restarting the console, I paired two and one of them suddently disconected.

After that one of my controllers only pair them the other isn't.

Both are the pro 8bitdo controller.

Anyone else having trouble pairing their controller? I press start+Y and it eventually shows up under the pairing screen but as soon as I press A and try to play the controller immediately drops connection. Any ideas?

How reliable have these been for everyone? I have seen a lot of mixed thoughts, and after the 3.0 system update, have read multiple reports of the controllers being completely unusable from input lag.

Been really interested in these for the versatility and price, but do not want to deal with them if they are flaky.

Is anyone using the 8bit do controller in the original Wii? Just want to know if it works. I know classic controllers are available but complete wireless would be so much better. Thanks.

Has anybody had any luck getting a NES30 PRO (latest firmware) working with a jailbroken iPhone? I got it recogised using Controllers For All when I start it in Android mode, but apps like PPSSPP don't respond to any input.

The controller is working flawlessly with my Switch and it has improved Puyo Puyo Tetris and Shovel Knight so much.

Yeah, but it is recognized as a wii remote. Input mapping is therefore limited to A, B, 1, 2, + and -. If you press L+R together on the 8Bitdo pad, it's mapped to "shake" for games that use waggle as an input command such as the rolls in DKCR.

Warning to Switch Users

Having them for like a month( I got two pros) I feel the need to give a warning to Switch users who wants to buy them:

-Using 8bitdo controllers without a Joycon paired/active or any other Nintendo controller is fine.

-If you use any Nintendo controller and the 8bitdo one at the same time, you will feel tremendous lag on the 8bitdo controllers. This happens to a lot of people.

-Pairing these controllers is a bitch, you will have to restart your console numerous time to pair two of these.

I regret buying these controllers so much :(
