New 13 minute gameplay video for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOSPd7o0Iic

Previews from the hands on events they had last week are dropping right now too:

IGN Preview

few minutes into my demo of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, I realized I was experiencing something I'd never felt before in an Uncharted game: total freedom. Even in dozens of hours exploring with Nathan Drake, Uncharted has never given me the sense that I can do whatever I want in any order, but in The Lost Legacy, that changes.

Push Square Preview

Frazer – apparently now of Indian descent – has a map of the surrounding area, and you're free to tackle it however you wish. Fortunately, there's a tower conspicuously sitting in the middle of the location: climb to the top and we reckon you damn well know what happens next. Honestly, it's laughable that the game so obviously falls into the most obvious of open world tropes, but it is what it is.

The actual exploration fares better. Combing the surroundings uncovers a densely populated environment: ruins make way for treasure, puzzles, and combat scenarios – sometimes all at the same time. Once again you're free to tackle firefights exactly how you want to, with stealth just as viable as all-out warfare. You can also avoid conflict entirely in some situations – this is wide linear level design, after all.

Easy Allies Video Preview by Michael Huber

Huber got to spend about half an hour with the next chapter of Uncharted, including some new mechanics, insight into the characters, combat, and puzzles.

But if you head off the beaten path at all, you're likely to come across ruins — some of which are guarded by groups of Asav's forces — that conceal special artifacts.

These items are tokens of Hoysala kings that are scattered around the Western Ghats. Each time you find one, Chloe and Nadine will remark about an opportunity to make some extra cash — yes, the trinkets are part of a full-on side quest, which is something we haven't seen before in an Uncharted game. The Hoysalas ruled for about four centuries starting around the year 950, in the region of India known as the Deccan Plateau. The side quest in question has its own arc and payoff, and Cooper said it functions as a way for the player to learn about Hoysala culture.

I can't trust them after showing the Uncharted 4 convoy sequence.

The blackout continues, but I will vicariously feed off of other's impressions.

Watched a minute then closed the tab. Want to go into this as fresh as possible.

So chuffed that I have this pre-ordered for a lowly £23.

Already in, I can hold off for another month. I'm happy with just how little I've seen of the game. PSX, E3 and that riverboat cut scene.

What? Chloe and Nadine are great.

Good characters - yeah.

The voice acting is still really bad though.

At no point did it sound like two humans having a conversation in a moving car.

Always sounded like two women in a studio - you can almost hear the paper they´re reading of. (In separate sessions, because I don´t think they were in the studio at the same time)

Watching the first three minutes is more than enough to tell me that this game is gonna pwn.

So is this really gonna be as long or longer than the first Uncharted? Is it true that it started out as DLC but is now a full game?

Is The Lost Legacy a full game or DLC?

Standalone, $40.

What, do you have a source for that? Naughty Dog records motion capture and sound at the same time as it's acted.

Yes and yes. The latter is why those who bought the Season Pass are getting it at no extra cost.

Really interested in this bit from the Polygon preview

HYPE!

But please let me do meaningful things. No "Treasure" Hunting without any rewards (even some detailed item descriptions would be nice).

I really can't wait for this but I do have slightly mixed feelings after that video.

The banter seems pretty awkward. In comparison to the vast majority of games, it's absolutely fantastic but compared to Uncharted 4 and the other games it just doesn't feel as natural to me.

I do love the idea of having a silenced pistol and wish that they would add it to Uncharted 4, maybe for people like me who have completed a Crushing playthrough. I wanted one a few times while playing it, it seems ideal for the combat arenas.

An incredible looking game, even better than Uncharted 4 for me.

I wonder if difficulty has been fiddled with. I find the gulf between Hard and Crushing in A Thief's End to be too large: the former isn't all that challenging the vast majority of the time while the latter is a little too unforgiving. A slightly tweaked Hard would be just right.

... you know they even did the motion capture together, right? Claudia Black is a great actress.

They did for Uncharted 4, so I wouldnt rule it out

But that´s cut-scene /set-piece stuff, no?

That´s not the usual banter while driving around.

But in the end - who cares?

Does not really matter how it was made - the result is still rough and does not match the VO work in UC4 at all.

Looks okay.. definitely feels like an expansion though. Kind of boring.

Definitely has some B-Team vibes, but it´s more Uncharted - so I´m in!

lol you're going to judge the voice work of an entire game based on a single interaction? You've played UC4, so you're biased because you've seen the entirety of the interactions, which colors your views. You're making statements as if it's fact rather than your uninformed opinion. Wait until the game is out before you jump to conclusions.

Feels like Uncharted 4. For those who like Uncharted 4, they are going to be ok. For me who prefer Uncharted 2~3, I'm out. I might wait when it is on sell for the story.

I have to agree, VO seems really off, as in "read it off the paper and do it fast please".
That's a bummer, but it had a considerably shorter Development Cycle, so...yeah

No, I´m judging it based on the entire 13 min video.

That´s a nice sample.

I dunno, I'm just a little confused by this product. Was anyone really clamoring to have more winch sections to get past an obstacle? And even though it takes place in an Indian environment, lush jungles has been done countless times in Uncharted before.

Some of this stuff just seems really derivative. I'm a huge ND fan, but this isn't doing much for me.
