I think Pacific Rim 2 will do better than the first one at the box office. We've had a few years for the first one to gain in popularity.

Granted, I don't see it doing bonkers numbers like an MCU film or anything, but it will still do better than the first.

I'm due a PR rewatch for sure.

That's an easy one for me to rewatch, since my wife enjoys it more than I do. Never really have to convince her to watch it.

Swiss and BGE collaborating to both be incredibly wrong

Next I expect Busty to come in swinging a baseball bat with FUCK PACIFIC RIM carved into it

Pacific Rim 2 will be lucky to cross $30M OW.
The original Pacific Rim opened to $37 million and eventually passed $100 million. It was considered a cult hit and has garnered a fan base that still loves it today. Worldwide, the film was a different story, making $411 million. China alone added $111 million to it.

The sequel is now starring big names like John Boyega, Tian Jing and Scott fucking Eastwood. John and Scott both have starred in movies that have grossed more than a billion worldwide. Their combined star power should easily propel the movie to an opening of $50 million and a domestic total of $150 million. Tian Jing is a big name in China so her inclusion alone will result in the movie grossing $200 million and above in China. The rest of the worldwide gross should easily make the film end up with $550 million or above, making it a major success for the studio and green lighting a Pacific Rim x Monsterverse cross-over.

Okay, as the sentence started I thought you were goofing and as the paragraph went on I started getting confused as to what your intent might have been.

Apologies in advance if my old ass just biffed on the obvious joke. It's been a weird morning.

Hmmmmm. Steven S. DeKnight also directed Sparticus, which suggests that the film will do very well in Europe. On the other hand, Idris Elba isn't returning, so that means most of GAFs considerably funds will be going to ensuring The Dark Tower gets a sequel.

I'd call this one a wash.

My intention is clear. Pacific Rim sequel should do better than the first.

I was obviously joking about the star power though. I doubt it matters for movies like Pacific Rim. They are defined by the visual effects, kick-ass robots and kaiju monsters, not by the actors trying to fake it out ahead of a green screen.

Boutella definitely will be a future Bond girl.

She'll be 37 by the time Bond 25 is out, too old for Bond's main action girl
who dies 15 minutes into act III
. So either a ""senior"" member of MI6 giving Bond the necessary exposition to move to the next country in his trek or she'll be his side action
who dies 5 minutes into act III

HAH! Apology stands man. Sorry.

And yeah, Pacific Rim is going to make more than the first did. I don't know how much, but I feel pretty safe in saying it'll do better domestically.

Wow Transformers semi bombed? Expected but not totally expected.

I believe it flat-out bombed.

Pacific Rim 2, its really hard to say. The cast is pretty good I would say. I mean Boyega is great. And I think he's playing a British person, and he'll be fantastic speaking his native accent.

Its being written and directed by Steven S DeKnight. A minor Joss Whedon dude. Worked on Buffy, Angel and Dollhouse. Did some Spartacus work.

Could go either way. But I'm happy to be getting another giant mech versus monster movie. Could be really good.

Spectre had Monica Bellucci in it.
She fucked Bond
She LIVED afterwards.

Fuck, Bond had her Fulton'd outta there. That's basically unprecedented in the series.

SOFIA IS 35?!

I'm still young and I look like a goddamn ghoul, this is bullshit

The Once In A Century Save

To make up for it they're totally going to fridge the shit out of Lea's character to annoy everyone

Looks like transformers run is ending in Australia at around 9.5 million. The lowest grossing transformer before this one was just under 24 million (the original). The peak of the series was over 38 million, so 4 times the most recent movie.

Currently this transformers is 16th for the year behind the likes of cars 3 and split. Baby driver is an outside chance of beating it. When all is said and done it will end up well outside the top 20 movies. Previously all entries had been in the top 5 for the year and as high as 2nd.

Dunkirk opened around 1 million higher than interstellar though the latter did have good legs. Should end up in a similar ballpark when all is said and done.

You're right, Bond is making some progress in its treatment of women. Maybe in Bond 25 they'll be given half a chance to consent to the sex AND survive the film.

Lmao

The only person on Earth who watched Fast 8 for Scott Eastwood was Scott Eastwood. He's terrible.

Boyega is great, but I don't think the dude has star power. But then again, who does?

Sofia should get cast as the lead in a Bond spin-off post-25. Make her 008 AKA the agent M always warned Bond would take his place if he died in the old movies.

She looks 25 though. I choose to believe!

He owed that to her after pulling the closest thing the series has seen to sexual assault since Goldfinger.
