Street Fighter V |OTVIII| New Delayed Generation - Controversial Inputs

He has great pressure and blockstrings, it's just something you're gonna need to figure out with whatever character you are using. But bruh, cheap he is not. Chen and folk say to use that phrase is just a verbal expression of your own lack of mu knowledge. I mean this in the nicest way btw, not ragging you even if you are winning.

Also, his HK isn't cheap. Just a solid button, let's be real here pretty much everyone has one good button you should be using often. Without it I'd have to use Psycho Axe for my CC's lol which is hard af sometimes being 18f startup.

Nah.. he's cheap. His hk in junction with his other tactics like teleport and whatever . I really don't care tho.. and I understand this game just fine.

His teleport is the slowest dash in the game, lol. Most high-level Bison players have asked for him to just have a normal dash, because the teleport is only coincidentally useful outside of V-Trigger.

If you understood the game just fine believe me you would not be saying Dictator is cheap. He really isn't overly amazing in V.

Bison has an attack that has like 16 or 17 frames of invincibility and is +13 on block. it's honestly one of the dumbest moves i've encountered while playing fighting games tbh. it's all you ever wanted in a special karst. invincibility out the ass while being safe as hell with it. sometimes accidentally ambiguous too.

apart from that though, bison is pretty much a regular guy yea

I wish fighting games would stop using techo. The only good fighting game OSTs of the last decade (AFAIK) are Killer Instinct and Skullgirls.

It always amuses me when ppl say Bison sucks on defense , yet throw out EX DR and bam you are on the offense again. Sometimes you might randomly cross up and eat a St.HK too. Somtimes that move hits on the front but he lands on the back ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Quite the hot take.
Also electronic music has an easy "high energy" quality to it. It's not unsurprising it's used in fighting games.

yup. if your character doesn't have an answer for it then welp, prepare for fuckery.

How do you just 'throw it out' on defense? You can hit him out of EX DR on the way up. If I can throw out a 120 frame move through your buttons, frankly you deserve it.

I mean, it's no different from every single ambiguous jump-in you suffer in this game. EX DR is crazy good, no doubt. But if you're eating s.HK after it cross-up whiffs you are reacting too slow.

You also can't EX DR on defense - it doesn't have invincibility going up.

You've hardly played fighting games outside of Street Fighter, so that isn't saying much. EX DR isn't even noteworthy outside of a basic game like Street Fighter.

And you clearly have no idea what kinds of moves I like, lol.

A lot of it just sounds generic and forgettable to me. Give me CvS2 or MvC2 soundtracks over what Capcom does not any day.

I get hit out of EX DR sometimes, it's not a 100% cert. That's upwards and downward arcs, Balrog seems to hit me outta it routinely on the way down. It's a great move though, and I am glad I have it.

EX DR is completely invi and the headstomp part is invinc in V trig and has invinc after frame 2 in normal. And what buttons are you talking about ? He is in the air.
I guess what I mean by offense is , unless you are right upclose to him and pressuring him. He does have good ways to get out. And not all characters can pressure in your face.

So unless you have the normals or specials to deal with that move , you just gotta hold it. Or try and guess if he is going to cancel to EX DR early or late.

EX DR is a good move but yeah let's not pretend there's not an answer for that shit.

Sometimes it's okay to spend meter for a good move.

I mean yea if your character has a consistent way to beat it then yea , otherwise you kinda have to hold it.

Bison is a very good, strong character, for people who know how to use him properly.

But but , I thought he is an average char and is only good for killing scrubs :(

It's a lot different from a regular random jump in. Shit's invincible in the air first of all lmao, 2nd it can hit in the back, hit in the front, not hit at all and end up in front or the back. The move looks like it was half made then they ran out of time and released it unfinished.

we've played in XRD, Smash 4. I've played Tekken, Injustice, MK, Blazblue, KOF, Marvel etc pls don't say I hardly play any games outside of SF lol. I'm not proficient at those games, but I've played them. EX DR being the dumbest move out of all of them probably isn't likely, but it's at least top 3 specials currently in SFV.

we talked about this in the discord before, you said you like safe tools to chip with, that's why you were mad that his inferno was nerfed to be unsafe (it can still be made safe but you ignore this). now this attack does chip, is safe, and leads into a blockstring since it's +13 for some odd reason which adds to the chip damage. I thought this would've been what you wanted lol

I'm talking about his trig dash.. who don't ask for more shit for their main, lol!? They want that so can get in more, but that would worse because of his many frame traps.

But whatever it's all good

EX DR is kind of like Strider assist in Marvel 3. You can counter it reliably, but no one seems to have taken the time to learn how to do that.

He's alright.

I can't follow what you're trying to say here.

I didn't say EX DR is like a jump-in. I said the cross-up aspect is ambiguous, but so are the numerous jump-ins people eat every match.

Man you've played those games for about a day. If you had real knowledge of most of those games you wouldn't be saying EX DR is one of the dumbest in fighting games. Just about every character in Xrd, Injustice, MK, BlazBlue, and Marvel has a dumber move than EX DR.

Psycho Inferno is sometimes semi-safe if it's spaced in a very particular way, but it's still not really something you want to do. :p For optimal play, the non-EX move is combo-only. You're better off using another normal or Psycho Blast H for the frame trap and better frame advantage. I'm not big on the uh..."YOLO" nature of EX DR. I'm not big on throwing out a move and just kind of hoping something good happens from it. I like conservative, consistent, and safe ways to harass and chip people. I don't want to go on about it, though. I'll just say that Knee Press is far more my kind of move (even though good Bison players hardly use it in the neutral) then EX DR is, though I use EX DR plenty because it's too good to ignore. I'm generally unhappy with Bison, though, and I want to change characters. I just don't want to have to change characters multiple times over the next year, because I REALLY hate learning characters only to ditch them later. It feels like a waste of time. I'm hoping Menat is interesting...otherwise I just have to hope S3 has something for me.

Thank goodness for the blacklist. See ya Ossiel, I'd say it's been a pleasure, but you cost me 1000lp and a day long ban when I started quitting on you at the load screen a few months back, so y'know. :p

I like to wake-up EX DR to try and get people the fuck off me lol, problem is the EX stomp is only inv for a split second during it's startup, I get stuffed before my DR comes out. Worth it to try though :p

When it works I feel happy.

No. He's strike invincible on frames 3-7 during the start up. I.e. on the way up. i.e. the thing i said. So what are YOU saying sir? You can stuff him when hes on 'defense' with your 'buttons' during the thing you said when he can just throw it out. He's not airborne until frame 6.

Yes because all offense is only a meaty scenario.

There is such a thing as block strings and pressure. Which have more than 2f gap in it. And having a move that can get people off Or at the very least , you get back into frame advantage.

And after hes airborne , EX DR is COMPLETELY INVINCIBLE on startup https://fullmeter.com/fatonline/#/framedata/M.Bison/devil reverse EX

It's the way he moves in the air while coming down that fucks me up.

I can deal with the invincibility, and the +13 (?!?!?!) on block, and the way he tracks your movement. But that ambiguous ass movement that can make him hit you in the front and land in the back just kills me.

oh my god I just went full tilt and I was not expecting it

Like, I am hoping that Menat saves the day, because I have not struggled to find a character I like playing as this badly since vanilla Persona 4 Arena

EX DR has so much horizontal mobility that it's guaranteed to find you unless the Bison player is asleep. You just have to eat it or learn how to counter the move.

I don't know what the landing frames are from EX DR, but it feels like it's lagless.
Pretty much. That's how land, cross up fake, crush counter knee is a thing.

Abigail ofc can't go under it very well

Can someone explain how Abigail's super works? It hit me in the air and on the ground!? Even worked against a cross-up.

This is a weird character.
What do you think happens when the tallest character reaches up for a super?

Abby makes Gheorghe Mureșan look like a chump.

Please show me what god you're playing that's reacting to 2f gaps with EXDR. If that's what you consider a reversal you and I have vastly different definitions of that word. If you said EXDR was annoying in NEUTRAL then we'd agree. And it should be completely invincible considering its 1. slow as fuck and 2. costs a bar and 3 leads to a scenario where if you commit to blocking you'll eat a whole whopping 110 damage from a throw.

You clearly how no idea how long I've spent with each game :p

Spacing a psycho inferno is a way to safely chip your opponent and even bait them into pressing a button that'll whiff from how far back Bison is. Yes you gotta use your brain and space it correctly, but when it's used that way it's useful. Scissor kicks on block aren't that great and they leave him a bit too close so I can understand why it's not really used.

ex scissor kick tho? with a 3f now? whew. bison is pretty much a walking + sign and I'm honestly totally fine with all of that. Even his bullshit dash. I'm fine with it. it's just.. ex dr needs to be fixed, that's it.

I still like to call it the ex. wtfisgoingon

Damn, I just remembered that advance from this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJeNTJy07Ok

It's worked for me but hey then again maybe they were just throwing it out and not caring.

The person in the vid 'Kim1234' is the same person i played multiple sets with at my local since I had to play a Bison at EVO.

We then hit training to see Nashs options against EX DR.He pretty much told me , you just have to guess to beat it with Nash. And the guess isnt in your favo. At certain ranges if you predict a EX Stomp->DR. You can Bazooka knee and then dash to maybe get out of its way. Otherwise , you are pretty much have to hold it.

The only good bisons I have fought is Kim1234 and pnoy , and of all of Bisons moves , thats the one move that puts me off so much. I can have control of the game so much until that fking move comes out. Its definitely annoying in neutral , and you dont need to react to a 2f gap. I am just saying it is an option. You cant always god for super tight 1f gap block strings , since it will lose to delayed teching.

For a person with "Bad defense" having a move like that and a 3f normal isnt half bad. When a good majority of the cast is also in the "bad defense" world.

. I'm fine with it. it's just.. ex dr needs to be fixed, that's it.

I still like to call it the ex. wtfisgoingon

Pretty much this, I dont mind bison even getting buffs to fix his issues if this move worked in a certain way. His dashes and all the other moves and fine , and needed for him to remain an offensive monster without any real ambiguity.
