Fairly Oddparents ends today.

For those wondering Timmy had to share the fairies with a new girl introduced 2-3 years ago. After that, I heard it was kinda rehashing plots.

Spongebob is one show that'll stick around even though it shouldn't. It gotten real mean spirited later on and patrick became a damn sociopath instead of a good natured idiot.

I was shocked when I heard the show was still going. I stopped watching when the baby was introduced but now there was a fairy dog and Timmy was sharing his fairies with a girl and Vicky was hardly there? Ugh.

Yeah, not to mention the gross-out "humor".

Wow. So much wonder to be found itt. Firstly this show is still on. Secondly there was not one, not 'B', but thrice live-action movies made. Thirdly Nick uses quiet cancels as a gameplan. Rat basterds.

wait what

You really don't know, do you? Time for a lesson in the character change of Patrick Star.

In the beginning seasons of Spongebob, Patrick was a lovable yet bumbling and kinda dumb starfish. Later seasons slowly evolved him from his old nature into a sociopathic asshole that puts spongebob and others in danger and doesn't give a shit about his actions. And the best part? He doesn't get his comeuppance for any of it. Any. Of. It.

I think I stopped watching around the time the shape of Timmy's hair changed. Can anyone confirm if this was also around the time the quality of the show changed for the worse?

I'm surprised to hear it was still going; thought it ended.

Was a really great show, and I bet Timmy's Dad is still the unquestionably best character.

for 'what about spongebob' people, isn't the creator slowly dying from ALS and just going to make things til he dies? You've got a definite roadmap for the show ending :\

as for this show, liked the bit with the jumpy teacher always trying to find them out and spasing out.

I'm surprised they aren't just introducing another character into the mix to try and elongate it's life more.

....Also wait, there were three of those live action movies? I thought there was only the one. You know maybe this is for the best.

Better late than never. I enjoyed the first three seasons as a kid but I grew out of it almost a decade ago when I realized it's basically Family Guy lite.

Been saying it for years. Channel Chasers was the perfect finale.

Agreed.

It is insane whenever I look back and remember Danny Phantom was only on the air for two years. Felt like such a big part of my childhood for some reason.

Danny Phantom was only on for 2 years? Damn. I remember it being on for longer.

I heard that the newer season are really good.
Not "really good", just better than anything post-first movie by a wide margin. Its starting to circle around to how it was the first three seasons.

I believe Nick has ordered enough episodes to get them through the 20th anniversary. I hope they do something big since it's unprecedented for a kids cartoon.

Yup, and somehow the show managed to jump the shark for the third time as a result. Adding new characters constantly is always a sign of desperation.

Some speculated the writing was on the wall when the show got moved to NickToons (which is pretty much Nickelodeon's dumping ground and death row for shows that weren't instant hits), but I'm still in disbelief somewhat that Nickelodeon finally laid to rest a zombie of a show that was supposed to have already ended at least four times already (Abracatastrophe, Channel Chasers, Jimmy/Timmy Power Hour 3, and the live-action TV movies).

Between this and their TV special revivals of Zim/Arnold/Rocko, maybe this network actually is on its way to full recovery after all.

Though it's substantially more popular, I do wonder if this means they might finally call it quits on SpongeBob too after its tenth season, or at least after the third movie.

Adding the Fairy Baby, I didn't think it could get worse...

The they added Timmy's talking fairy dog.

And then they added a new girl that Timmy SHARES his fairies with???!

Compare and contrast Patrick in the first movie versus the second one. Freaking Plankton is more believable a friend to Spongebob than Patrick in the sequel.

While I didn't care for the special Poof showed up in, there were some decent episodes sprinkled in those seasons with the character. Decent enough that I confuse post Poof episodes with pre Poof episodes.

As for Spongebob, Plankton is the best character in the series now because everyone else has become so annoying and unlikable.

People hated Poof? I thought that was a cute addition. Then again, I only remember the episode where they gave birth to him, so if he became insufferable or something as the show trudged on, then never mind lol

Stephen Hillenburg only recently came back to work on Spongebob. They've been doing it without him for years and I'm sure they'll do it even when he's gone.

I can't believe Fairly Odd Parents is finally over and Invader Zim is coming back right after. It's bizarre because those shows premiered the same night. One was killed prematurely while the other became a zombie. Now the tables have turned.
