So, is it worth getting a Switch Pro Controller?

Title says it all really. I like the look of the Splatoon controller.

Also, is the Splatoon controller limited in release?

I'd basically call it a necessity.

Also, the Splatoon controller is a very limited release, from what I've seen.

Respectfully, I almost can't believe either of these questions are out of sincere curiosity (assuming the speaker has followed the Switch release somewhat). In the sense that reactions have been so pronounced in the affirmative, that response is basically a given.

tbh I'm really surprised with how much I like the joycon grip. Unless you need a real d-pad (wont play Shovel Knight without it!) I don't think its super necessary to get a pro controller.

It's the best controller this gen has to offer, though I'm not sure if it's worth $75. Especially since using bare JoyCons is very solid for just about everything.

The colors on the splatoon controller are really nice too as are the small details they added. I'd highly recommend that version because it's not too often you can buy an official controller in such unique neon colors.

Yes, though some have had trouble with Dpads being wonky (as I did). Once you get a good controller though, it's dammmn good

Good luck finding one. It's impossible to get any accessories let alone a switch. Although I have one now.

Got a grey bundle thinking I could nab some yellow joy cons. RIP.

The controller itself is very well made. Feels great in the hands, holds a charge forever, one of the best controllers I've ever used in 35 years of gaming. Squid Controller is the same but with different colors. Harder to find, yep.

Definitely worth getting if you're planning to seriously play your Switch.

? My local stores always have tons of Pro Controllers. My Best Buy when I walked by yesterday had atleast 10 on display

EDIT: Ahh now that I think about it you prob meant the Splat editon, in which case yeah it's prob impossible to find it now

Nah. The Joycons have all the tech that's in the Pro Controller and are much more flexible.

$80 buys you the equivalent of two controllers versus the $70 Pro Controller.

Once you've experienced the freedom the Joycons offer any controllers you touch from there on out will feel like you're handcuffed.

It's a great controller with the best battery life in a first party controller this generation.
Basically use it for Docked mode and I don't take out the Joy Cons

The controller is great on the switch and also works perfectly with a Steam Link if you happen to have one of those too.

I'm waiting for my Hori pro controller and praying that it will justify not having to drop 70 on the real thing.

Absolutely. Outside of the D-pad, which is god awful, it sorta ruined the DS4 for me(ruined is harsh, but the difference in comfort is very noticeable when jumping back and forth).

Have they fixed the issue with the dpads erratically registering up/down commands when pressing left or right (that was the problem with these controllers right?)?

I mean, the price sucks but I haven't used the Joycons in months unless I'm playing portable (which hasn't been recently).
