Street Fighter V |OTVIII| New Delayed Generation - Controversial Inputs

Lol, the mods don't have an agenda but I think they could be a bit more proactive in curving some of the shitposting that happens in every SFV related thread. A lot of the time its the same people too. Same thing with XV threads.

Exactly.
Engaging in conspiracy theories is not going to get us anywhere.

And you do have the option of asking mods to step in (via PM), if you see somebody consistently shitting up threads.

Nothing better than going all in.

The LP / Ranking system could use some tweaks.

For example, it seems odd that it is more advantageous go loss, win, win, than it is to go win, loss, win, if you are close to ranking up. But because LP and ranks are distributed after each match, and since a higher rank loses more LP to a lower rank, the second combination results in a lower net LP gain despite the overall result being the same.

Yeah it should count the points after the set instead of immediately after the match.

After that Arms thread? Yes, clearly.

If I were to believe POPGAF regarding that thread, then I would conclude that the moderators had an anti-POPGAF agenda. If I were to believe the SFV-OT regarding that thread, then I would conclude that the moderators had an anti-SFV agenda. I am more inclined to believe that somebody on the mod-team simply made a bad call. Mods are human, too. Except for ModBot, of course.

It's not just this particular case though. We've see it countless of times on gaming side almost every weekend for a whole year now - It really stinks up the place. If it wasn't for the community side on GAF I honestly don't think I would have signed up, because right now, most of the stuff you see on gaming is some r/Kappa toxic shit. I've realised just how bad it is so I'll probably stay away from that in the future. Going to focus on improving my performance in this game instead of getting involved in these shitfests that lead nowhere.

On that note: You still playing Juri? I'll play you a few sets if I see you online soon.

What happened in the Arms thread? I looked at that thread once when it first got posted and never went back in.
.
Yeah, that thread wasn't conducive to anything but setting up a place for people from two camps take shots at each other thanks to the OP. There was probably a discussion to be had, but all that was going to happen was various flavors of "Switch has no games, everybody over there thirsty!!" and "SFV is shit" drive-by posts. Mods should have followed their instincts on that one even though they chimed in early sensing it wasn't going to go anywhere with a snarky ass gif in the OP.

Staying clear of those threads is probably not a bad idea.

Unfortunately I am not really playing Juri much recently, but I wouldn't mind returning to her for some matches. If you are on Steam, then feel free to add me (link in profile) and ask for sets when you see me online.

One stage I'd love for Capcpom to add is a nightclub themed stage, complete with a full-on EDM track like this one.

Screw these "classic" stages, I want hype NEW stages! Same scene with my characters!

That's like your opinion, man.

I think most of the character models look ugly in SFIV and the animation is definitely worse. I'm glad I don't have to watch it anymore.

Yeah the only problem I ever had with IV was that it was that it looked like absolute garbage and the animations were stiff as fuck. Coming from 3rd Strike where everything was painstakingly expressive in animation it was a massive letdown. V is definitely much prettier.

Is there any rumour (credible) or news of Blanka making the roster yet please?
Keep that trash away please thanks.
Oh yeah, like Duck King's stage. But cooler.
I was imagining a stage like the disco in Yakuza 0.

Some dude rage quit on me but I uninstalled the game on PS4 so I can't find his PSN name to talk shit. :(
Too late now, but could've hit the share button to catch his CFN name in the replay.

If you want EDM, try Tekken. That seems to be the only genre that exists to Harada.
Truth be told, some of the music in Tekken is what made me think of such a stage in SFV.

And a lot of the new Tekken stages have too much wub wub. Some of the earlier games had a lot of electronic music but I wouldn't REALLY call it EDM with the exception of Plucking Tulips from TTT 2 and Electric Fountain from Tekken 6 (which felt like Trance). The jukebox mode in Tekken 7 is a freaking Godsend HaradaSend.

I hate the character select music in Tekken 7. At EVO over the sound system in Mandalay arena it sounded like annoying noise.

Thought it was just the setup making it sound bad, but I got the game last week and... Yeah I don't like the character select music in Tekken 7.

Nightcross_TV is a pretty good streamer. I asked him for some tips about the Sim vs Balrog matchup and he switched accounts and spent like 15 minutes in training mode to show me.

Couldn't get matchup tips from Spman2099 but getting them from a Diamond Sim is the next best thing.

Fuudo was showing off the application of walking back AND blocking. Can't believe I've never tried it. I just sit there and take shit but it messes with the other person's spacing and lets them whiff more often.

walking back AND blocking.

If you're talking about spacing then tbh it's really only viable for characters with good walk speed. It's why Vega's walk speed affords him an advantage that other characters simply can't match. You can't realistically do the same with big characters like Abigair-kun or even Birdie (with the exception of when you're at the absolute peak of the opponent's possible range)

Ok, so finally pulled the trigger on the season pass to get Kolin. Start up training mode and after an hour STILL can' t do her first trial. Is her execution that hard, should I not bother? Granted, it's probably not that great of a combo but it's the first one, what does that say about the rest?

If I can do it you can do it too. Just keep at it.

I say replace it with ELO ranking. The damage was already done after the RQ system was added back. Some of the Rage Quitters I've seen have ranked up to Diamond and leave after the first match.

Good news though, WannaSeeMyKungFu has dropped down to 16k.

And after 2-3 games, it should calculate the points between both players. So if a Platinum beats a Master ranked once and then leaves, he should only receive a small amount of points than 2-1 them consistently and ranking up to Diamond. And if the Master rank leaves after loosing than the Platinum player received a bit more

And you should never rank down unless you are rage quitting. That should be the penalty as well as a ban on Rank up to a week.

Ahh I guess that's true. At least it helps when sitting on the edge of things.
