Street Fighter V |OTVIII| New Delayed Generation - Controversial Inputs

I say replace it with ELO ranking. The damage was already done after the RQ system was added back. Some of the Rage Quitters I've seen have ranked up to Diamond and leave after the first match.

Good news though, WannaSeeMyKungFu has dropped down to 16k.

And after 2-3 games, it should calculate the points between both players. So if a Platinum beats a Master ranked once and then leaves, he should only receive a small amount of points than 2-1 them consistently and ranking up to Diamond. And if the Master rank leaves after loosing than the Platinum player received a bit more

And you should never rank down unless you are rage quitting. That should be the penalty as well as a ban on Rank up to a week.

I like this.

Individual character LP's need to be a thing imo

I would play way more characters in ranked if it was a thing

I certainly did in SFIV. I played ryu, cody, guy, guile and makoto in SFIV. In SFV, I just only play Ryu. Every point I have in ranked in SFV is hard fought and i'm struggling to try and make it to super silver right now. I can win 4-5 and lose two and it feels like ive gone no where. It also let everyone know who was the best with that particular character too.

Ok, so finally pulled the trigger on the season pass to get Kolin. Start up training mode and after an hour STILL can' t do her first trial. Is her execution that hard, should I not bother? Granted, it's probably not that great of a combo but it's the first one, what does that say about the rest?

Are the 2 light buttons connecting regularly?
If yes, then you having problems with the DP motion to finish the combo.
If no..
My next question, is your controller wireless? if yes, then that combo will never be completed since the input delay on wireless even worse than...
Use none wireless controller..

Yeah, the current ranking is definitely messed up due to the rage-quitting.

And those are some interesting ideas.

I'm not sure about never ranking down, though.
Doesn't KI force you to re-qualify if you've been away from the game for a while, at least for higher leagues? That seems like a good solution. It also has fewer leagues, which seems preferable to me, considering the small player-bases for fighting games.

KI has 4 leagues. Bronze, Silver, Gold and Killer.

There are rankings that reset every single month for the TOP players in the world. The top 32 Killers with the highest points at the end of the month are given a permanent star on their profile to indicate that they got to Top 32. The more months you get to top 32, the more stars you get added to your profile.

I'm not sure if you HAVE to requalify if you haven't played the game in a long time, but every month you have the option to requalify if you're stuck in Bronze or Silver and believe you can get higher (The highest you can qualify is Gold).

You CAN'T league down.

Every match between Killers and between Golds and between Killers and Golds is a forced 2/3. You have to win the set in order to get the points so you'll be playing more matches in general once you get to those leagues.

In order to league up, you're matched up with someone either of the same league or above (higher leagues are preferred). If you lose, you lose around 150 points but if you win, you league up.

It's a damn good system where losses don't hit as hard and wins don't matter much unless you get a LOT of them.

That sounds really good actually.

Man, the PS4 d-pad suckssss. It looks good on paper but I just find it to be so mediocre (just like the XBO pad). I'm doing these trials and some of them are made artificially harder just due to hardware. I have the Hori Commander, which is great, but I don't want to wear it out through combo trials.

Played enough FGs to know I have problems with any crouching button to DP. The only character I can do this with is Ky's 2HS>Vapor thrust.

Question now is how to overcome.

So tired. Stayed up till 5am with my boy running Abigail vs Necalli, Gief and Akuma. The Gief match-up is hilarious, just pure savagery on display. Worked on some good things, BnB's, some corner mix-ups, really learning AA options and Abigail's low-key nimbleness. Had some parries into MP>CA and some clutch parries generally. Now I'm exhausted, had to be up at 8am to go camping with the fam. It was worth it.

did you blast eye of the tiger tho

Finally decided to try out ed, been sitting in casual matches with him for an hour.
He's pretty neat tbh, but I still find myself making qcf motions once in awhile.

I would have used Ed if I could piano his hands consistently out of cr. mk. Tried all kinds of combinations on the PS4 pad, still too inconvenient. Not buying a stick just so I can piano for one character out of the whole roster. Oh well.

That MSF wasn't the name of a rank in SFV is a major
minor
disappointment. Rank names shoulda been tier grades. D, C, B, A, S.

Demoralize all the casuals with a D grade out the gate.

...there we go.

I love how the SFV ranks are ripe to rename them after JoJo stands.

I'm not much of a fighting game guy, but have always preferred Street Fighter to others and would like one to play occasionally online. Is it worth getting this on PC (which I can get for about $20) or Super Street Fighter 4?

I can buy any DLC with ingame money, right?

Nash vs Abigail is so free that's it's not even funny.

Also debating if I should drop FM for the Metro City stage or ED.
Ed is pretty rad.

All DLC EXCEPT Premium costumes, and the stages+costumes that are incredibly expensive because they help fund the Capcpom Pro Tour.

Colours, Story Costumes, Stages and Characters can be gotten with in-game money!

Everything is earnable except Premium costumes and the CPT packages as that money funds the Pro Tour.

For $20, yes. It's easy enough to earn a season worth of characters. If the Deluxe edition is around $40 or less that's a good deal too as it comes with 12 characters, 12 premium costumes, and a stage. The characters themselves earn a lot of FM.

Plus, on PC there's mods that make earning FM easier, I believe.

That was such a weird episode.

Gootecks tried playing and kept talking about how he didn't feel anything when he loses in the game.

Mike was still pretending like he got fried from Twitch at one point.

The breast milk thing.

All of it was just weird.

And I just kinda flipped through.

Just let people come on the show and play the game. At least they are doing shit and having fun. Now it's awkward having Smug and Punk sit there.

I really don't understand how anyone is supposed to play Vega in this game. Other characters are anti-airing crossups with jabs and Vega can barely deal with normal jump-ins. It's like this character was designed for a different game.

I understand that every character needs a weakness, but it ruins every other part of his game. Walking a character to the corner doesn't matter when they can jump out for free 90% of the time.
