Street Fighter V |OTVIII| New Delayed Generation - Controversial Inputs

That's you and your team not playing the game right. Small advantages should be pushed into big ones, which then lead to victory. I used to have the same criticism.

Eh, I mean it both ways. Playing the game right and winning for 10 minutes shouldn't mean one fight lost loses your giant lead and you're behind.

They bringing back anyone from 4 it better be Hakan. He's hype af and he'd translate so easily.

Sagat v-skill is obviously angry scar. V trigger is he throws literal tigers at you Tekken 7 style.

Jesus, even dataminers that have had a tendency to spread false information aren't gonna claim that Birdie, Kolin or FANG are getting any new costumes.

Kolin already has four great costumes. Putting focus on her is taking it away from Birdie and FANG, which are the two that really need new costumes. I love Rashid's new one but he needs more too.

But Kolin is an attractive blonde female so she fits the criteria. She DESERVES more costumes damn it.

At least Birdie and FANG are ugly characters no one likes to see.

Wow, I missed out on a lot while I was asleep.

If X-kira is to be trusted (he's about 50-50 so far on his calls), here's a big PDF of everything that's been found via datamining since launch:

- Arcade mode is fully programmed into the game, and is just waiting on Capcom to add in data to be fully functional. It has 10 stages, with a rival battle, a final boss at stage 10 and possibly a bonus stage or two.
- Likewise, the Arcade version of the game (set to run on Taito Type X machines) is also mostly programmed into the game.
- Stages have code in them to be customizable in time and weather, but it looks like this function was dropped in favor of Extra Stages.
- There is some sort of V-Mode select coded into the game for characters. It's unsure what exactly it does, but it's supposed to change attributes of the characters (likely for new V-mechanics).
- Extra Battle is going to be much more than just fighting NPCs. Matches are going to have way more challenging rules than most modes. Imagine Survival Mode, but with forced handicaps ranging from no blocking to limited CA to one-hit kills.
- Dojo mode exists, or at least did at one point. Based on what few lines of code exist, it seems to be a cross between World Tour mode and a special Tutorial.
- There are two more stages programmed into the stage select screen. More stages than that are coming, being Shadaloo Corridor (an extra stage for Shadaloo base, seems to be the Ibuki/Mika vs Boxer stage from Story mode), Cammy's SFII stage, and a stage seemingly related to Ibuki.
- Bipson, Karin, Ibuki, and Guile are getting new costumes.

Some interesting stuff here, but it's X-Kira, probably one of the most unreliable data-miners out there. So, I'm just going to ignore this stuff until something proves it's true.

Hop on discord & hit me up. I'll fill ya in.

Shit, if info's being passed around I want in too fam

No gameplay changes/additions are coming before Capcom Cup 2017 winner is crowned.

I thought this was so obvious that I'm surprised you had to clarify it.

Not to take sides, but Sneakers said that Q, Necro, Twelve, and Oro were all "in production," and Flowtron has since debunked that.

Since when was Twelve included in that rumour?

He didn't debunk that - he said they weren't in S3. And I actually got them reiterated to me 2 weeks ago. There are lots of characters in production. Shit,
Sagat has been playable in some form since at least October of last year
. Just because a character hasn't been released yet or hasn't been rolled into a season doesn't mean they aren't in production to be released at a later point in time.

There are several names i've also heard are in production that aren't on the S3 list - they may never come because development is what it is & things get cancelled & whatnot.

I wonder who those names are...

What's going on with KI now?
Not much. The game's gonna get a Steam port sometime this year.

The popular theory seems to be that the development for new content of the game is now pretty much done (excluding the Ultimates which I believe are still coming). If you purchase the Definitive Edition, it gives you all the characters so it really is now the Definitive Edition.

Game's still pretty fun and still has a loyal fanbase but it has dwindled due to a variety of reasons , the biggest of which seems to be that the game is being balanced and generally being taken in a direction which they don't enjoy which is a very fair criticism, one that even I have had (and I got in pretty late after S3). The difference in playstyles and movesets between the S1 cast and S2/S3 cast is big. The S1 cast feel like stable, grounded (fuck Sadira) characters with straight forward weaknesses and strengths. The S2 and S3 cast can feel all over the place and pretty much all of them have unique mechanics that in my opinion don't really add much to the overall character but that's a discussion for another thread.

If anyone is waiting for a "Komplete Edition" of the game then this is it. If you buy the Definitive Edition on W10 then you get all the characters with the exception of Kilgore and Shin-Hisako who you'll get for free once the Steam Edition releases.

The most obvious thing in the world would be to make his V Skill Angry scar.

Super boring. I hope they don't do just that.

I want them to go a bit nuts. V-skill as a stance change into the speed of SF2 Sagat. Loses some defensive tools but moves faster and more aggressively

IIRC, Balrog and Dhalsim are two additional characters still running with just the base 3 costumes. Nice Rashid finally got an extra one though, so he's off that sad list.

There's a thread on /r/streetfighter about how depressing EA is to watch lately and like 80% of the comments are to the extent of "well SFV is a shit game". Never thought I'd see the day that SFV was so bad it killed a youtube series. The shit people try to spin is insanity.

Reddit hates on everything and anything though. They've made it their actual goal in life to troll Capcom any chance they get, similar to a lot of posters on this site. The few times I've been linked to Reddit, it felt like my IQ dropped from taking a peek at the comments. I can honestly say it was worse than YouTube comments. That shit can't be healthy.

Mike Ross is gonna be feeling even saltier when he realizes all fighting games are becoming eSports.

Also if r/Kappa and some parts of gaming Gaf had it's way you'd think SFIV made a huge revival and is one of the best FG's ever made. Yet, if there was a revival those very places would start whining and wailing about how bad that game is again.

Am I the only person that tends not to like variations of the same characters. I would prefer universal changes more than a selectable V-Triggers.
If they do add V-triggers or v-skills I would prefer that they are all available by default instead of making you choose. That's just me though.

You sure it's not the same Character but different name? Joking lol.

But my thread on the rumor is much less active than the "Capcom suck" thread.

Because its more of the same rumors, though this could be much substantial if it is reliable, that the community and the internet has been hearing about.

Nothing is going to excite people or change people's mind until Capcom announces this stuff officially. And even then it might not excite too much cause as we all know SFV is shit and can't be saved.

I'm with you. There's several characters with parry V-Skills so I don't think the team has enough fresh ideas for 28+ new V-Skills. Besides, this doesn't add character gameplay variety. It just creates a clone of every character and there's probably going to be a superior version of each character that is used 80% of the time. That's how it worked in SF4 with Ultra select.

They need to add more tools to each character that isn't locked behind an alternate version of that character. That's the best way for different players to play the same character differently.

I actually don't mind divulging the things i've heard & the context i've heard it to the people in the right setting. I don't have any time restrictions on divulging things i've heard. Part of the reason I don't just drop walls of text is in part to keep myself low-key. The other issue is some of the stuff i've heard has accuracy that varies based on when I got my last info dump. For example, prior to EVO my last major info dump came from last October. Now i'm mostly up-to-date on time tables for the rest of the year & beyond.

I also don't want to throw down a ton of stuff in an open setting like this because A) i'm a dev myself and I know the devs want to do the reveals at their timetable so that they can enjoy the reaction & "control the message" (this is laughable imo given Capcom routinely drops the ball on announcements) and B) Some of the stuff i've heard of is very far out, so it doesn't really matter that we hear about it now.

I think you need to be vetted.

Sneakers should be mod vetted at this point, as anyone who is constantly posting "insider info" as fact should be.

I bought SFV on launch and dumped 20 hours into it. Felt like it was only "ok". I knew 100% I was limiting my enjoyment by exclusively playing as Ken and it got boring.

No other character peaked my interest in the slightest. Bought Guile and hated him (never really liked him before either).

I played Sagat as my main and Ken as backup in SF4 so was super bummed when Sagat was left out (for now) of SFV.

Well, two days ago I bought Urien and hot damn I've been having so much fun learning him. His fireballs are fast as hell and I love trying to predict if my opponent will jump or not. I'm slowly getting the hang of his charge attacks and I'm going to try learn the combo where you juggle then fireball your opponent in the air.

So glad I bought him, been tons of fun and my fight money was only going to go to waste.

Haven't played since S1. Anything crazy change about Ibuki that I should know? All these costumes she's been getting recently have me itching to play again >_>

Urien is definitely one of the funnest DLC characters in the game. Before Abby came out, I'd also say he was the one with the most love put into him.

Glad you found a character! Urien is a blast.

Monthly reminder that Guile has a crouch walk.

Also, some #FANGthoughts

FANG as a character SHOULD have the worst comeback potential in the entire game, simply due to the nature of his design. He should be the character where it's very easy to get a lifelead with the poison but if he doesn't manage to get the required damage and instead is on the backfoot, he SHOULD have to work twice as hard for the same comeback as other characters do.

Problem is he does no damage, poison is useless and he has no comeback so yipee.

Also I think his EX command dash should be fully invincible on the first 7-8 frames but punishable with throws during the rest of the animation and fully vulnerable during the later stages of the move while also making the recovery a bit higher. Enough so that if someone expected it, they can walk back and easily get a punish but if they went for a meaty, then they can't punish in time.

Swimsuits are boring, Capcom should make cross-over skins or just ones that are relevant to the character in some way. I'm surprised that, for example, they didn't make a "Family Man" Guile skin. Or a Ken/Dante cross-over. Or just so much else.

I don't know if I'd love or hate self-aware skins.

Surefire way to let us know it's BS. I'll believe return of invincible backdashes and arcade mode before I believe FANG gets another outfit.

Alpha-sized Birdie would be nice. Someone a while back had the idea for a plague-masked FANG which I think is an excellent idea. So many things they could be doing, but instead they give Mika pigtails and call it a day.
