SakuraGame got all of August covered with more of these games.
At least they're cheap.
I do hope the Otome looking game, Les Fleursword, will have a decent translation. I know it won't but hey, hope springs eternal.

Their translations are google translate tier. I mean, they probably are. Also, zero proofread.
At a least they're cheap and come with trading cards, so they pretty much pay themselves.

More like "Baidu translate". The publisher is Chinese (just one guy afaik) and the Chinese translation is actually really good.
For the english one I guess he just uses Bing oder Baidu Translate or some other Translation software.

One thing I dont get is though why he wont just offer the uncut patches unofficialy like other VN devs. He could easily do that and according to Valve its okay.

Yeah, the guy probably translates the games on his own, but his english isn't good enough for that. He should at a least get an editor. I'm sure he can find a person willing to do it on the steam forums.

I thought he did for some, like Super Star, Material Girl and... Hell Girls or Dragonia?

Trails of Cold Steel - first 4 or 5 hours, right at the beginning of Chapter 1

Amusingly enough I'm kind of getting Persona vibes, lol (haven't played 5, only 3 and 4). Obviously there's no personas, no 'normal life/secret life' distinction and it's not set in our world, but you have a school setting and a version of Social Links. And then this soundtrack really gives me Persona OST flashbacks. It's way less anime though, although a bit more anime than Trails in the Sky.

Anway, I just reached the first Free day and went around talking to everyone. And here's where a Falcom game separates itself from your typical 0815 JRPGs. At this point in time I can't tell you much about the main story yet, but I could tell you all day long about the NPCs.

- There's friction in the fencing club, as an arrogant noble student wants to join, demanding to be made captain and clashes with one of the commoner members.
The current captain sees this as some needed rivalry to make things more interesting.
- There's a student that has requested permission to help out the church in her free-time.
- The chess club has kept losing to nobles again and again, so all members except one have left over time.
- There's a boy that wants to join the photography club and only wants to photograph girls, which troubles the club president and he wonders if this club even has a future at this rate.
- One of the main characters joins the Music Club to play violin. One of the members plays the violin too and he hopes the other can play well, so that they can improve together.
- Another of the main characters joins the Lacrosse club and a rivalry with a noble girl starts brewing immediately, who wants to one-up the other one. That girl also has an idiotic brother who always chases after girls, but has no idea what he's doing and always fails.
- In town there's an annoyed housewife who complains that her husband treats her like granted.
- The art club has an eccentric president who only wants to draw in peace and doesn't care at all about the newcomers. Another one of the main characters joins that club. He's self-learned so he wants to improve with some real teaching. There's also a shy girl that joins and the situation is kind of awkward with the president and the main party character seems hard to approach. She does it however and he's more easygoing than he looks like and she kind of starts telling him how to improve his drawing skill, while wondering why she's the one doing this as a fellow newbie.

And so many more. And all of this is entirely optional. You don't have to read a single line from those conversations if you don't want to. Note: they are much better written than my cliffnote-versions :p
Talking about writing, the localisation is terrific. I actually like the english dub more than the japanese one. The voice acting is great, the voice direction even better, and combine this with the even better translation and you have a winner.

Bonus: The normal battle theme rocks.
And so does the victory jingle .

Regarding the PUBG discussion, admittedly I only know the game from streams but if is both easier and funnier to team up with other people then it sounds very much like the natural thing to do.

It also doesn't abuse any systems of the game in an obvious manner.

If that is unwanted the game itself should discourage such behaviour instead of simply banning people that do it.

You know, doing game design and all.

My god the animations and lighting in FFXV are incredible, hope the ultima PC enhanced version Nomura hinted would come after console release is still a thing.

FFXV has some of the best arpg combat in videogames right up until the moment you pick up the gamepad and realize how shallow and janky it is.

It's like piranha bytes had a trillion dollars budget

PUBG is pretty much the "No fun allowed" game in my eyes.

And FFXV is pretty to watch but playing it made me incredibly sad about the Final Fantasy franchise.

I have always wondered what happens when someone dies in PUBG. Does that person spectate the rest of the match, or can she just queue for another game?

For some reason I am kinda more interested to see and play Far Cry 5 than Assassin's Creed Origins and I feel bad because of that. I don't want to let Jase down and be disappointment XD

so i got off work early today cos i was feeling sick, so what better way to use my newfound free time than beat the second part of god eater

i generally enjoyed this much better, i feel the story was more sparse but also actually decent, so unlike the main game it felt a lot more like reward than punishment, hopefully what's next follows that same style, i don't want to be flooded with shitty cutscenes, i just want a few story beats every couple missions to feel like shit is going somewhere

i also got a better handle over the different upgrade systems, but i still think they're real dumb and convoluted, i barely use half of them because of how costly it is to experiment

i'm kind of intrigued if god eater 2 actually makes good on some of those shitty systems and both expands and simplifies them in ways that make them make more sense. i also hope it has more enemy variety, level variety and has a bit more depth to the weapon wielding and it has better controls

this is a clunky ass game that needs a ton of work to be considered good lol

League of Legends is trash
i like it

is zky drunk?

Great write up, I played Cold Steel 1 & 2 last year and you're in for such a treat

Every district in Mafia 3 controlled, huzzah. Hopefully no more bullshit and I'll be able to enjoy the rest of the story. The nofuckingrind mod is essential. Still a little but so much quicker.

Teaming up with randoms could be a lot of fun (by having that DayZ/Trouble in Terrorist Town level of uncertainty), but PUBG is not the game for it.

It's not designed for it and is against the rules, so it definitely discourages such behavior by all possible means.

I hate games in regards to the lack of any research and general nonsense in regards to psychedelics, especially acid. The character tripping in the new Wolfenstein and seeing a cartoon creature, and in this Mafia 3 mission I'm dosing a party as a distraction with a "fast acting lsd"

DS4 Windows. Real simple, real easy.

http://ds4windows.com/

Dead Rising 2 might be a bit strange because they had to remove GFWL from the game and rerelease it, so there may still be some relics left over preventing the Steam API.

Sorry, but you give link to abandoned version of DS4Windows, there is newer and still updated fork from Ryochan7 https://github.com/Ryochan7/DS4Windows/releases

Also Dead Rising 2 only works if you enable Hide DS4 Controller in DS4Windows settings (and then enabling gamepad support in game settings), i beat it with Dualshock4 without any problems.

Thanks for the link. It seems that I've been using the outdated version all this time.

The Long Dark is pretty cool. I froze to death trying to light a fire while wolves were trying to eat me. 10/10.

Just finished chapter 4 in Trails SC, damn though the scene
at the farmhouse was making me teary eyed
.

Yeah, that scene is very touching.
Finished SC last week and loved.

Missed one chest. ;__;
