well.... that saves me £20 I suppose...
what's so bad about it?
I don't know anything about it, I just liked the art and that's usually a good enough excuse to try a game lol

Everything.

Deus ex machina
Plot holes
Clueless heroine that only gets to shine in the bad endings.
2.5 routes are straight up abusive garbage. One guy actually has only half a route.
Practically love at first sight. Relationships have no time to develop.
All routes are similar-ish.

What about Norn9? That's been on my Wishlist too.

Norn9 is better than PC but it's terribly mediocre aside from maybe 3 routes. Nowhere near enough the quality of Code:Realize.

Three voiced heroines are nice, but there are too many routes and some things are left unexplained.

I see!

I really enjoyed Code: Realize, but I was a little bit frustrated that I had to go through every single ending to see the true ending. Maybe it's just me being lazy. Still better than no hidden path though.

I do always enjoy the hidden paths. Amnesia had a good one. So did Nameless, if I recall correctly. The My Secret Pets surprisingly had a very sweet and unexpected hidden route, but all of these were unlock 3 endings to unlock the hidden one.

Period Cube spoilers below:
One route has a scene where the heroine is being mind controlled and it reads like a sexual assault/rape scene, the main character's brother is one of the love interests who undresses her while she is sleeping one night, and the half route dude physically hurts the heroine and is pretty much a serial killer in the game.

I typed up my thoughts on each route on my Tumblr, where I go into more details about what I spoilered.

Collar x Malice's true route also opens last. It can be annoying, but seeing how both games are story based it makes sense. Not playing Lupin's route last would pretty much spoil the other routes and the build up in those wouldn't feel the same.

I finished Nurse Love Addiction and it was um interesting. Did the developers just throw darts at a board for some of the endings because
cannibalism, sex slave sister, and corpse bride
don't exactly seem like things Asuka would do. Overal I only really cared for the teacher's good ending.

You're in luck then! Kazama's route has been expanded and it now doesn't feel like an afterthought. There are also six new routes to boot. Maybe it'd be best to wait until both parts are out though and/or on sale.

Heard nothing but praise about CxM, so I'm excited to finally be able to play it. If you do get it, and if you want to get all the bad endings you'll need to use a guide. The game doesn't keep track of them and going back to get them is kind of a hassle.

Oooh boy, I guess I'm in for a hassle then; I don't like using guides my first time through. I sorta did on the first route of Code Realize cause I wanted to make sure I got the normal ending first, but since I realized they seem to let you choose to get Normal if you earn Good anyway it's not worth it now.

On that note, I'm still on my second route of CR but I'm hoping to get done most of it this weekend and then finish + start CxM next week. It's weird to be constantly playing VNs (alongside other games) like this, huh. Finally finishing Amnesia right to S;G0 to CR to CxM, which I'll probably take a little more slowly. And then DR V3, since if Chaos;Child comes out around then I'll just save it after V3 to be safe... but I might play Silver Case instead.

There's Bad Apple Wars to consider too, but I'll probably wait on that.

There's... a lot of good VNs out right now, huh.

Turns out it's a good thing I'm not done Code Realize yet, cause CxM totally shipped to my family's address since I never updated the Amazon order when I moved to my apartment. By the time it shows up here next week I'll hopefully just be done CR, hmm.

Just a heads up, don't read the article posted today on Rice Digital about Chaos;Child. In addition to appearing very clickbaity
"Filthy Chaos;Child PS4 references fellatio and masturabation [sic]"
and being physically painful to read (it's apparently supposed to be satire based on the ESRB rating description or something), it contains extremely spoilery CGs. Thankfully someone I know who's already played the game saw the article before I did, so I didn't get spoiled.

(People have already contacted PQube about it, hopefully this issue gets resolved.)

I tried to warn y'all in the thread lol. Nurse Love Addiction feels like it was written by Nitro+Chiral peeps at times.

D'oh. Now that I remember, the engine the original Princess Evangile uses was crazy slow at times on my previous laptop. I'm wondering if I should just let the nvidia card in my current pc do the gruntwork to get a locked 60 fps at all times or if that's just plain overkill...

Then again that was a laptop with a Celeron processor and integrated graphics. Maybe the jump to an i7 will be enough lol

Moonstone's engine is just shit even on better hardware.

Not to mention that the scaling is shit when the 2d assets are so low-res
... never expected to complain about that, huh.

Edit: Surprisingly, after spending some time with the VN, I realized that the upscaler the engine has built-in is pretty good. Even taking into account that the resolution of the assets is only 1024x600, they look decent enough when upscaled on a 1080p monitor. Dal Segno, a 720p title, looks worse on the same panel, go figure.

Any word on other Science Adventure titles coming to Steam, in the west?

They've stated plans for existing titles to be released on Steam for Japan, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they included English versions for the existing translations (Steins;Gate 0 and soon Chaos;Child). I wouldn't be too surprised if they didn't, either.

What's this recent drama with Arudoc and SP? Is there a summary?
IIRC Sekai announced Baldr Sky before finalizing their contract with Aroduc, then offered terms that Aroduc found unacceptable. Aroduc doesn't need the money so he walked away, and now Sekai is missing a mostly complete, very good translation of Baldr Sky that they were planning on having.

Finally free
Just in time for Subahibi release, fml

Whoever stated Dies irae is a 50 hour game... I'm not sure how you'd come to that conclusion. Skipping all the voice acting and the extra content still would only let you shave about 30 hours off the completion time...

I'm failing to understand how one could bother with DI without skipping voices or even entire scenes, it's appalling how absolutely wrong is the pacing in this novel...I'm at the end of the Marie route and literally don't care anymore about anything but the end of it all (
Machina.jpg)
. 43 hours, probably will finish around the 60 mark having skipped tons of dialogues and some battle scenes in this route as they felt the same thing over and over and over again.

Muv Luv Alternative better up my mood whenever it arrives because this whole experience just made me think I'm growing out of VNs...

BTW, what playing database is that? Looks cool.

Would be super awesome if we could get a physical copy, too. I wonder why it went digital in Japan?

Not sure how the graphic novel version sold, but the physical anime releases did not do so well. Now I don't think most of the ; anime adaptations minus Steins;Gate sold well but maybe doing the anime before the game this time made them hesitant about physical game copy costs.
