How new player friendly is this game?

Had some friends talking about it, but couldn't give me a clear answer. Never played a battle royale style game/mode before.

Uhhh. Very difficult at first, but once you learn the controls and how the "objectives" work you'll get the hang of it. I'd say watch some twitch streams first and if you're into it go and buy it. Only 30$.

It's pretty friendly imo, there's not a lot to learn because there's no crafting or anything like that. It'll take a few matches to get into the flow of how the circle works, and things that you can do that aren't immediately apparent (changing scope settings for distance, fire modes, etc), but after you play a few it's easy to wrap your head around it.

It's also a game where, frankly, you aren't expected to win very often. So there's not a lot of pressure surrounding dying. Just queue up and try again.

You have to learn a lot by doing rather than the game telling it to you, but it's not that complicated when you get down to it.

Not very, it's very much on the player to learn the mechanics.

Cool, I'll watch some more streamers for a while, I'll get it and give it an hour before I decide to keep or refund it.

That could've been Georgopol (towards northwest corner of the map) or Novorepnoye (southeast on the military base island). They both have mazes of storage containers with wood plank ramps or piles of crates that you can use to get on top.

I checked an online map and it was the building complex south of the farmlands. A bit North-West of the West bridge of the military base.

Is there any way to load just the map and run around in there?

An hour is really not enough, the first hour of this game will most likely consist of not seeing any enemies or getting shot from enemies you didn't see.

There are a bunch of basic skills you need to learn before the game gets good, stuff like basic map knowledge, what loot is useful, how the circle mechanic works etc. If you have friends to play with that really helps because even if you die early you can watch them for a bit and learn and talk shit.

You guys ever got a no clip bug? As in you could just take a car and drive through any building and see people in/through them?

like omnidestiny? personally no. but my friend got it twice with his potato laptop, everything except rocks and trees didn't render for him so he went through everything while in my pov he went bugging through every single wall there is.

I've been watching streamers play this. Looks great. Will my rig run this?

i5 2500K
1070
8GB RAM

I have the exact same rig as you (2500k oc'd 4.2ghz) and it runs well enough with a mix of low-medium settings (along with high view distance+texture quality). I've found that some of the other settings at high and ultra tend to result in unstable/inconsistent performance, but that's just my experience.

Crates aren't worth much anymore. And not just because it's monday and the crates are cheap again. The gamescom one could increase in worth after the gamescom, but I'll guess the other two will not. Better just open them and hope for the schoolgirl-jackpot.

I5 2500K (not overclocked)
16 GB RAM
GTX 960 4 GB

60-70 fps, but all settings are between very low and medium.

When you realize you can't even sell on the marketplace because you don't have a transaction in however long on Steam. :(

Yeah, had the same thing happen here, definitely cost me at least $5 on my camel coat. I'm just happy I guessed the price drop for a two day hold pretty well.

A streamer got this and tried to run over a bunch of people to see if it would work, it did & he got banned. Mods are pretty anal about stuff so just quit out of you get it.

Can this be played with an Xbox Elite controller? Don't have the space right now to do keyboard and mouse. And I know this is early access, but what happens the game is finalized? Do I have to buy it again?

I have a friend who hadn't played a shooter since Action Quake 2, and we got him up to speed on how it works after just a few matches. Now, becoming good is something else completely, but it definitely helps if you have friends who you can play with and help you out.

Yes controlled is supported, you pay that 30$ and you have the game forever.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
Question about this game and Steam Marketplace.

I'm looking at the Camo Hotpants that I got. When I got them, it said that they're only available for sale today (14th August). However, when I look at the marketplace on Steam, I can see that people have been selling the item for many times before that.

How did this happen?

Also, why did the economy of the game suddenly become shit (in other words, everything became cheap today).

edit: also, why are people buying Gamescop Invitational Keys from Steam Marketplace for 8 dollars when you can get them ingame for $2.5?

I'm just completed tilted after multiple days not playing.

-Snipe a guy sitting in the open multiple times, he swings and snipes my helmet off with an SKS with robot like reflexes, then just strafe walks into the open while I'm healing to snap shot me through metal bars as soon as I try to shoot him.

-Shotgun a guy at point blank range who just walks past me in Pochinki, I miss 3 times.

-Ambush a guy who runs into my room in apartments, after dumping half a mag of AK into him he swings and 1 shots me with a S12.

3 wins yesterday, 2 of them back to back I really adore this game. Can't stop playing!
I really think First Person Perspective is where the game truly shines. But I'll probably still play a 3rd person from time to time just to mix it up a bit.

Also M16 in burst and Groza on auto are just OP.

Does anyone keep pistols and melee past the first 5 mins?

I ignore them all, unless its a pan. That beautiful cast iron bastard has saved me so many times

Earlier today my pan ate a 30 round full auto AKM mag, leaving me to gently turn around from my looting and dominate the 2 players behind me

Just won two consecutive AR duels at 30-40m. To my controller brethren- you too can relearn the mouse in one brutal week.

I've started keeping pistols if I happen to find a suppressor. Though if I find a P18C then I gear it to the max; love that silly thing.

Pan is life.

I've had several rounds in a row where I've found no weapons in the first several buildings. It's so frustrating and if I land in a populated area, I'm so paranoid about getting shot from behind while I'm still unarmed.

P18C I keep for the fully auto mode if I'm in a desperate situation, all the other pistols I don't pick up unless it's all I find anymore. Not worth the space

I'm consistently getting top 20 and often top 10 now but it's hard to get regular wins due to randomness of the circle and players positions

Well, I can't use the market until September 13th. So dumb.

I feel like there was a sneaky tweak to weapon drops. I'm struggling to find AR's now when before they'd be a dime a dozen, even to the point where I'm finding only shotguns and maybe a uzi on first few houses of a drop. I thought maybe it was the smaller areas but even in places like battle school apartments I struggled to find an AR.

Yep, in one of my first few games with my buddy, he learned that the hard way.

With me right next to him :(

I'd just killed 2 players and run out of handgun ammo and all I had was a nade so I wanted to see what would happen.

It seems like whenever I throw a nade and then get killed by someone shooting me, the nade either doesn't explode at all or it sounds like it explodes ~20 metres away from where I've thrown it...weird.
