They make the Saints Row games now.
Agents of Mayhem being their next game, muchlike SR4 a game clearly heavily infleuenced by Crackdown. Also, it's on PS4 too, so will likely render Crackdown obsolute and in no way a good reason to by an Xbox One

And just like all of the Saints Row games (which share the same engine as later Red Faction games), doesn't feature full blown architectural destruction.

Actually there are a reason, they modelled even the gas pipes leading to the building, and are simulating the explosions from that.

Might not be 100% accurate, but it's simulated as well.

The devs said that they put explosives in the building to show off the tech.

This really should be where they finally demo Crackdown's MP mode because time is running out on that and there really is just no reason not to show it. Unless it's been downgraded significantly, which would be a huge shame. I'm honestly not expecting a lot of surprising stuff from MS at Gamescom.

Hopefully at least finally the damn preoders going live though.


Oh so there IS some kind of live show? I assume we can see that on Xbox itself?

I think the mp is now a closed off space in which you can have 100% destructibility rather than the whole city.

No expectations whatsoever apart from them opening up pre-orders on the X.

A Crackdown beta available right now announcement would be super cool but because of that its never going to happen.

With no Phil or Larry I just don't see there being any new news here.

A goddamn shame, i'm sure the X could handle the whole city....ah well. My hype for the game has gone down so badly....we'll see anyway.

I really really hope they do something similar to what was done for Ori DE, about 5 bucks to upgrade to the DE.

To be honest, if they would just give this stuff for free for Recore owners....that would be much better.

My ReCore game was already showing as ReCore Definitive Edition once, so that's probably exactly what's going to happen. We pretty much know that this game is also receiving an Xbox One X enhancemnt patch, so they are probably not bothering with doing 2 versions of the game.

That's good then, something i can live with. Asking 30 bucks for the DE again would be extremely foolish.

If's a shame i can get barely excited about upcoming exclusives from MS. Before E3 i had high hopes for Crackdown 3. I was at least expecting the game to look like the screenshots and the very first video, better actually but man i can't deny how the gameplay videos so far have been really disappointing in my opinion. I'm not convinced about it at all.

Ah well, there's still plenty third party stuff to look forward to playing on X.

I hope we see some good surprises at Gamescom, some new content for upcoming games like Spider-Man for PS4 and God of war instead of rehashed videos or something containing only a couple of additional seconds of content. I also hope they announce the pre-order information for the XBOX One X so I can get that out of my head. Man has that been a bother to me.

To be fair those videos were MP. We still haven't seen that..... Probably for good reason, though

Wouldn't surprise me if the MP is delayed to next year and is standalone, if it comes out this year alongside crackdown 3 it's gotta be hugely downgraded. The game is supposed to be out in three months and we've seen nothing of it outside tech demo.

I've also been speculating it's gonna be F2P standalone for a while though based on the way they worded everything.

If they had a console version then it would be so dumbed down that the people on PC who would actually buy it would stay clear away. If they built the game around being accessible on console then that's probably the dumbest way to bring AoE back

Also, best believe this is coming to STEAM too

I'm wondering, is this an actual stage presentation stream, or like a Nintendo Direct type situation?

And ya...Recore, probably footage of Forza, Super Lucky, Crackdown, maybe some of their marketed games like AC Origins depending on how long. Age of Empires news with a "and catch the dedicated stream to learn more". Maybe some new XB1X announcements for supported games, preorder announce, maybe some BC news like "OG BC now available in preview". Not expecting anything really "new" other than that.

as I've mentioned in the MS studios thread, given it's something never really been done before and potential to be game changing, they would show it off at a big stage. Since they never showed it off at E3 I have a hard time believing 1) it's still coming out this year or 2) if it is, it's anywhere near the level of destruction we saw years ago


You don't show off something of that calibre in a nintendo direct type thing, upload it to youtube, stream it on twitch/mixer. You show it off when you have millions watching, if they announced a crackdown online stream for next month they would be lucky to get more than 50k viewers

I will never take soon to mean anything from Phil again. His version of soon is closer to when a movie trailer says coming soon than what most people mean when they say soon.
