The SEGA Renaissance (Even if they're not that involved) - where to now?

I'll go way back and say I want an updated version of Monster Bash.

Make it like Pac Man CE DX, but with a billion Draculas or whatever. Tie into Universal for maximum monsterage.

[edit - I have no idea for a developer, mind you]

I think it should be time for a new Jet Set Radio. It would profit from...

- a certain lack of "trendsport" games
- the high-ish interest in 90s style platform games (cause especially Future was basically a 90s style platform game blended with trendsport games)
- a gaming community more open to colorful and crazy titles again (finally)

(Test the waters with a JSRF-HD port)

Also, a new 3D Shinobi of high quality could fill the character action void left behind after Ryu Hayabusa and Ninja Gaiden declined in quality. Co-develop it with Platinum Games.

Also, get Platinum Games and Yakuza team to reimagine Burning Rangers for a new generation. This could be crazy cool.

A proper Sakura Wars reimagining with graphical upgrades in the stlye of the first Valkyria Chronicles could heal the wound of Valkyria Revolution being subpar.

And one poster said Streets of Rage 4 in Mania style. I say: Yes, please. Go ahead, ask the makers of PAPRIUM to help out. Paprium Trailer

Please let the Streets of Rage Remake team release the work they did.

Sonic Mania proves the interest is there for good reworkings of classic games.
Some things would need to be changed for the remake to be fit for release(eg Cody from Final Fight as an enemy would have to go) but certainly get that team to put something out.

Yakuza and Virtua Fighter on PC. Maybe even MadWorld and the Atlus games.

Then ports to PC and modern console of all their arcade games that never got home ports, or only got mediocre home ports.

Then a blitz of DC games ported/emulated on PC/modern consoles.

Then a mini DC.

Then a new Sega Rally.

Then Vanquish 2.

Then partner with Nintendo for Bayonetta 3.

You went through all these fantasy scenarios (most of them involving ports to PC), and then ended with Bayonetta getting tied up exclusively again?

Does it have to be a retro game? Would last-gen count as retro? Cuz, AFAIK, Sega owns both the Bayonetta and Vanquish IP and both seem kinda dead. I'd love more of both of those.

Also, I'd love a new Sonic collection, and a Sonic 3 and Knuckles remaster. It's a shame that the only Sonic game you can play on PS4 is Mania atm, and it's also a shame that the Taxman Sonic 1 and 2 remasters are stuck on Mobile, with no Sonic 3 remaster in sight. I would certainly like to see Sega rectify all of that.

This is good.

Yes, I agree.

Not my cup of tea but sure!

Then a mini DC.
A bit ehh on that but hey, why not!!

YES

FUCK YES

You people are crazy, Billy Hatcher is the way forward.

I'd actually be satisfied if Sega stuck to re-releasing good quality HD versions of their Model 2 and Model 3 arcade games as downloads. I really wouldn't need anything else from them.

Being able to play SCUD Race or Sega Super GT again would be amazing, also Virtua Racing.

I liked Daytona to some extent but these other two arcade racers were more special to me. At least I got VR on 32X, which was a ton of fun.

Replace him with Majima from Yakuza, the game already supports the use of baseball bats.
Heck, add a bunch of other Sega character that would fit too, like the VF cast - nowadays they're more likely to appear as guests in other games than in their own series anyway (Darkstalkers syndrome?...).

Seriously, the groundwork for a Streets of Rage Mania is already set. Just make sure they drop the bike sections, those clearly didn't work, even if at the time it seem interesting to add them based on development screenshots.

I know I sound like a broken record in these threads, but:

Toy Commander co-developed with Nintendo

I would also accept Skies of Arcadia 2 (Skies of Valkyria?), a new Shinobi character action game, Space Channel 5: Ulala Returns, or an Ecco game from Yoko Taro.

And Samba de Amigo on Switch is a no-brainer.
