While I don't think it's a bargain or anything, 80 dollars for 4 "big" pulls and some change seems on the better end for gachas. That rate not so much, but yea...I forgive them a bit more since most of the units here aren't junk or totally obsolete years from now, and at least you'll get a 4* for sure.

That would be absolutely insane value and way, way better than anything else on the market.

The 5* rate is garbage but $0.48 a summon is bonkers.

It looks like China FGO is about to get the shop bonus quartz changes JP got during their anniversary, I'm guessing/hoping it'll come to the rest of the servers soon.

Yeah this is really my first game like this and got it because of GAF. I really enjoy it but I really want Jack the Ripper when she is released and I just want to feel like I could guarantee myself to draw her if I had enough quartz. I dunno it just seems 140 for 80 bucks is too little. That's only 4 bug pulls. 80 bucks should net me 10 plus pulls IMO. 😔

Oh there's no argument here. But whales are willing to pay. The way of things.

But if you're smart you can make that number much less.

iTunes/Google Play giftcards go on sale all the time for 15-20% off. And a lot of sites will give cash back if you go through eBates or whatever.

I just snagged $100 for $70 after cash back/discounts, essentially making it 140 Quartz for $56.

...China FGO seems weird as hell because according to this they've gone nearly a year without a bunch of QoL features that we started with. They didn't have grail ascension until this update, they didn't have friend page filters, they had 5 slots on the XP enhancement screen instead of 20, they had Altera's old sprite and animations...

So, no, don't expect us to follow China in any way. Hope we don't, even.

Also it's either the Chinese or the Taiwan version (or both?) where the events and banners are rushed as hell and a lot of the playerbase is grumbling because there's basically never any chance to save up quartz for anything.

China FGO is of course operated by a Chinese company, as mandated by the government. So nothing that happens in non-China regions applies to China and vice-versa. I wouldn't concern myself with anything China FGO does or doesn't do.

As someone that has played and still plays a lot of gacha games, imo the one big negative in this game is the AP system. Playing for 10 minutes, then being done for 5 or so hours is nice for busy people, but it's just absolutely not enough. I feel like the sweet spot for stamina is Final Fantasy Record Keeper. The recharge rate getting bumped to 2.5 minutes per AP would help this game so much. Either that, or add a mode that uses no resources or a separate resource, to give us something else to do than look at menus.

Most games do a PVP mode for this type of reason.

Yeah, fuck PVP. Maybe if it gave purely cosmetic stuff then it'd be okay, but I loathe PVP in gacha games.

The strong and rich get stronger and richer.

I would quit if there was any kind of competitive system.

Also, if they ever reduce the time to recharge ap I'd want the ap limit to be higher.
I like knowing that I can deplete my ap 2-3x a day and be done without wasting ap.

Don't get me wrong, they're usually garbage and my least favorite mode in whatever game they're in, I'm just saying at least it's something else to do in the game. It'd be nice if these companies put in compelling modes, but PVP is usually the lazy way to do it.

Found a berserker piece last night so naked apron tamamo get. I should be able to get the red man his last two ascensions during the event, so I'm done with farming monuments for now. The sheer number I need for my two berserkers is so daunting that I don't even feel like trying to farm it outside of an event. Although I'm in no rush for Vlad as he won't get much from 80-90, Tamamo Cat is in her strong growth period and she is starting to mow down dailies now that she has a decent attack stat.

I have 3 berserkers to ascend. :(

Herc has 2 done, and Tamamo and Lancelot have 1 each. Herc is the priority for now as I have a couple AoE options already for dailies.

Aside from 1 more heart I should have all the non-monument mats to get the rest of Herc's done. I have only seen like 2 Berserkers total in the past week of dailies, and each time they just dropped a normal piece.

I think the PVP system in FEH is mostly fine.

- You are fighting for a tier instead of the top X position.
- It is not grindy that requires you constant login/fighting 24/7.
- The extra reward in the top tier (a few hundred feathers and 1 gem?) is mostly inconsequential.

This is probably the thing i like most about FE:H's pvp.
There are some mobile games that I've played (mainly Korean...hello Dragon Blaze) which have huge reward differences between the top ranks the lower tiers. The rich keep getting richer (and more powerful) while the poor keep falling behind.

Tales of Link is kinda like that as well, but is getting better by just recently having a way to earn upgrade items which were only available by being in the highest PvP tier as unlockables.

ToL's soul arena is pretty good. The prizes are given for reaching certain point values and is separate from the ranking. Though there are additional rewards for ranking as well, they're mostly really nothing special or unique that you won't get from the tier prizes anyway.

So I just rolled into Altria. Not ungrateful for beating the odds of getting another 5* at all, but I've already got Altera. Is there any situation where Altria is really worth using over her?

So I'm reading through the GamePress guide for the Event and trying to understand what I should be doing for the next few days. According to them, things should be taken in this order:
  • Collect 200 Special Dumplings to unlock all Story Quests.
  • Complete the Story Quests to unlock all Free Quests.
  • Collect dumplings for event shop purchases.
  • Equip Event Craft Essences for more dumpling drops.
  • Don't forget to your Support list, equip them with event CE to rack in the Friend Points

From what I understand, the free quests don't change like Nero's after a few days? So the idea would be to at the very least run each difficulty once, and then just running 5AP until clearing out the shop of the Monuments and Pieces. After that, maybe run the other difficulties for the hearts, and more monuments.

Does all of this sound about right? What is each of you guys and gals' plan or goal for this one?

1. Clear out shop except for Fou and 2nd and 3rd MoonFes CE
2. Grind hearts

So that's 5 until unlock 30 -> 30 until the MoonFes CE -> 5 until shop clear -> 30 for the rest of the event

What if I want to farm Hearts of the Foreign God? If you want Heart drops, you're going to need to sacrifice some of the shop, unless you're willing to spend apples. The most efficient way to do this is as follows:

Clear all quests once as soon as they unlock, while spamming 5AP for the gold dango in between. You'll probably be running with an Automaton and a friend Automaton equipped, which should give you an average of 6-7 gold dango per 5AP run. With this, you should be able to unlock 30AP on the first day without issue. Then, run 30AP until you get 500 regular dango, and buy the Moonlight Fest CE. This may take upward of 2 days.

We farm 30AP first because this is when doing so is the "least wasteful." While 30AP is always less efficient than 5AP in regard to farming dango, it is "less inefficient" before obtaining the Moonlight Fest CE, after which you "lose" an additional 22-23 dango for every 30AP quest you complete.

After obtaining Moonlight Fest, switch to farming 5AP until you get 1300+ regular dango. This should take about 3 days, leaving only 1-2 more days in the event. I calculate that 1300 regular dango is probably the point that it's safe to go back to farming 30AP for Hearts, where the 30AP farm will get you the rest of the dango you will need by the end of the event. As the deadline draws near, you may have to do some math to figure out how many "actual" dango you have, remembering that gold dango will convert to regular dango after the event, at a rate of 2 gold dango to 1 regular dango. If you find yourself coming up short, it's possible you will need to go back to 5AP on the last day, so do beware of this.

Timed it right so my AP completely restored while mid-battle right before maintenance, just finished the battle and leveled up. 246 AP ready for when the event starts!

Until recently, ranking in the top tier was the only way to get Goddess' Love, which was the only way to upgrade the UR Mystic Artes. Now you can earn one every Soul Arena by getting 800k mana. I would consider that pretty significant since having a UR++ Mystic Arte is pretty much mandatory for a lot of the harder events.
