hollow knight is really good

i know it was obvious, but i've realized that sheets of paper lead you to map guy, so that's helped a lot make the new areas i've found a lot smoother

This is something they added in the patch, right? Because I don't remember this at all.

What's the latest game you've played that has turned out better than you expected?

For me, it's the current game I'm playing with my GF: Phantasmagoria 2. It's dated, sure, it has a terrible audio mix, visuals in definite need of remastering (if that's even possible), etc. But I'm finding myself pretty entertained by the game. It's goofy and gory as fuck, has an interesting/intriguing plot and setting, has little hallucination/insanity effects that remind me of Eternal Darkness (a fav of the girlfriend and I) and is surprisingly socially progressive for a video game (especially one released in the mid 90s).

10% and extra 50% off for existing owners is more than fair IF there's enough new unique content in the game. Few maps and vehicles won't do much considering there's hundreds of maps and vehicles already available for Spintires. The game needs new camera system, saving in multiplayer and simply something new to do within a map. I bet just hauling more logs with new vehicles won't satisfy most people at this point.

Some new vehicles, 9 new maps, and the previous maps combined as one.

You can save in MP.

Still waiting I don't see it posted yet on steam.

For me it's Quantum Break without a doubt. That game has a really bad reputation but it's actually pretty good.

Good shout. I really enjoyed it.

Yeah, I've definitely got an interest in Quantum Break due to being a fan of Alan Wake (and the older Max Paynes, I haven't played 3). Someday I'll pick it up on the cheap..

Aarklash Legacy I suppose. It wears thin after a bit but it was solid.

I hadn't heard of Aarklash, but I looked up the Steam page. Interesting! Not a genre I have much experience in (though I'm hoping to "soon"). Looks pretty decent!

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Hey everyone - sorry I haven't been online much lately and there hasn't been much recent movement on the development side of Enhanced Steam.

Last week I started a new (second) job working nights, so that has more or less dominated all of my available free time. Thankfully my second job is pretty chill and doesn't care if I game at work (on handhelds) but I don't have internet access besides my cell phone which doesn't have much available data usage.

The majority of my down time now is sleeping and honestly just getting used to the routine. Hopefully nothing majorly breaking comes up with Enhanced Steam - but I thought I'd give you guys a heads up in case anyone PMs me and wonders why I might not respond immediately.

Valve will no longer automatically fullfill key requests from the developers to combat game sales outside of Steam. https://t.co/Gp1TyivEeO

So first no Steam game gifting outside of Steam which basically ended giveaways here and in other places and now this?
Next time no more Steam sales at all (after they removed flash sales and daily deals): the most extreme way to maximize profits. Epic job Valve.

To be honest my stance on CDKeys is simple. When publishers start caring about my region and stop charging full 60$/€ then i will start to care where i buy games. Average salary here is lower/same than in Russia for example but because we are small and almost insignificant region they don't care.

You're still better off than us Poles.
Wages are about 2-3 times lower than in Western Europe, but we are grouped with fucking Germany and France for some reason.
Well, EA is an exception. Prices are about 10% lower than Eurozone, but we get only fucking Russian dubs/subtitles (and a Polish machine translation).
Fuck EA

Yeah, same. They don't seem shady enough to ruin the benefit and only have good experiences so far.
It disgusts me what Steam/Publishers do with the regional pricing currently.

Damn man. Hope things are good. I'm thinking I might have to do a second job of sorts as well :/

Oh? I didn't know you were a game dev.
nowadays only on my free time since argie games industry collapsed

You're losing your way Zky. Don't.
i never lose my way

It is extremely likely it will be my PC-GotY. In top-3 of the metroidvania-games I've played.
idk about top 3 metroidvanias or whatever but it's one of the most polished and well realized games i've played this year

This is something they added in the patch, right? Because I don't remember this at all.

no idea

Consider this light reading instead:

Again, Valve has always reviewed large key requests out of concern that they may be used to shepherd people away from the store:

Steamworks Documentation said:
NOTE: Steam Keys are intended to help partners run their other physical and digital businesses by matching offers that exist on Steam. It's important that Steam customers are treated fairly and that offers using keys are materially consistent with offers on Steam. It is not okay to sell keys for products that aren't also available for sale on Steam at the same time. Make sure Steam customers are getting a fair offer relative to any other stores where you distribute Steam keys, especially at launch.
Steamworks Documentation said:
NOTE: Requests for large amounts of keys will need to be manually reviewed by Valve before processing.

Nothing has changed aside from smaller requests now having the same level of scrutiny as larger ones. Developers can still sell their games elsewhere:

Steamworks Documentation said:
Other Retail Stores.
You are welcome to generate keys for resale with other retailers, including your own website. However, your product must also be available for sale on Steam. If you are hoping to receive exposure to Steam customers, the price on Steam will have to match prices elsewhere.

And they can still partake in indie bundles:

Steamworks Documentation said:
Bundles off Steam.
You are free to use keys to distribute your product via bundle offers off Steam. We've learned from developers that pay-what-you-want bundles are a great revenue opportunity when your product is very far along its life cycle.

What they can't do is use keys to frequently undercut the store. That's the key word here -- "frequently". Sales on other stores are fine. Indie bundles are fine. Just not to the extent that the Steam Store is left in a comparatively bad position for a prolonged period of time.

Galyonkin, to be perfectly frank, doesn't seem to be familiar with the intricacies of the service or Valve's policies and therefore shouldn't be considered an authority on such matters. It certainly doesn't help that the "high-profile dev" who tipped him off appears to be, well, Reddit (note the timestamp of the OP and the identical source image).

I have separate account and card for online payment and i use PayPal whenever i can so i don't care about stolen CC info (identity theft is still an issue) that much. i never have that much money on that account. And so far i never had an issue with CDKeys (but jshackles for example had an issue with phone activation to approve purchase).

bad gameplay lol
Does anyone in here play Cities: Skylines on a lower-spec PC? My specs pretty easily fall above the minimum specs (i5 2500S @ 2.70 GHz, 8GB RAM, Radeon HD 6570), so I could probably play it on low-mid settings, but I've heard that once your city starts to get bigger, it starts getting pretty processor-intensive.

I've wanted Skylines for a while now, and I'm just kinda torn between the $40 PS4 version that I can't really afford but would run fine, or the $7.50 PC version that I can afford but would probably run into issues with later on.

(And seriously, putting the PC version on sale for $7.50 the same week the $40 PS4 version comes out is certainly something. :lol)

Would you like a key for the UWP version... even if you just use it to try the game. I doubt anyone else would want it.
