Hey, it might be a surprise, but some people ARE attracted to assholes and mean people, idiots, etc. Guess why?

It's because they are physically attracted to them.

Plenty of people do not REALIZE that they care about a personality, until it's too late, or perhaps never. It's not that ridiculous to imagine.

And then we have this asinine strawman that if you have preference for one, then it means you hate the other. Or if you have preference for both, then you hate women who don't have either. You can totally have a preference for one (or many things) while also being capable of finding people without those traits attractive.

I don't see a strawman as much as people weighing-in on the words we're using to discuss "Ass vs Boobs" or whatever you've boiled this thread down to. In a male dominated world, we should really caution against "both sides" arguments. If this was a female dominated board, you'd see more male objectification, but that still doesn't mean that both instances are the same.

edit:
'Kay.

I will say, as for your first paragraph, it would be pretty much the same thing on the assumption that men were the marginalized sex who have been suffering under matriarchal objectification for a significant proportion of human history and still suffer under it significantly in modern contexts. Too bad that's not how things are today (hoo boy, what a world that'd be!).

Beat me to the punch!

This topic has been "big asses > pancake asses", "fake boobs ruined tits", "big boobs, imagine when they're 50, greasy things hanging all over the place, eww", "flat asses are not appealing", "I've never liked big breasts", "I've never liked small breasts", "a shapely ass is far more attractive than a pair of boobs".

Again though, none of those are remotely common sentiments in this thread. Most people just seem to express enthusiasm for one or the other. Many people say "I love them both, but prefer x". I'm flipping through all the pages and it's not that often people have an unkind word to say about breasts or butts.

I don't think it'd be going out on a limb to say that a thread about hair color would probably contain some dumb hyperbole as well.

This article uses faulty logic to make some potentially misleading conclusions. The data doesn't necessarily support the conclusion that Millennials are less interested in breasts because specifically searching for breasts isn't necessary to return images and videos of breasts. There is conflicting evidence because the top three porn stars on Pornhub are Kim Kardashian, Mia Khalifa, and Lisa Ann. All three are very well endowed.

The information about implants doesn't support the conclusion about a generational preference either, since it's about year to year trends. The overall trend has been a steady increase since the surgery was first introduced. A People article released a few months ago reported that breast augmentation was the most popular cosmetic surgery in the US for two years in a row.

http://people.com/bodies/breast-augmentation-most-popular-plastic-surgery-facelifts-on-the-rise/

Breast augmentation was also the most popular cosmetic surgery world wide in 2016, with 1,649,271 surgeries. There were only 465,665 breast reductions and 155,453 implant removals:

http://www.isaps.org/Media/Default/Current News/GlobalStatistics2016.pdf

Only 300,791 people opted for fat transfer ass augmentation, and 31,330 had ass implants only. Those type of numbers don't support the idea that everyone is turning towards ass now.

I grabbed all those quotes from one page.

If somebody came out in the second post saying something like "I hate redheads" or "I hate curly hair", it would make a lot of people feel bad, ashamed, marginalized, and maybe even attacked. Some sensitivity towards others can be learned.

No it wouldn't!

Look, I get what you're saying. I really do. I understand there is the whole issue of power dynamics that applies to many, many other situations. But this case is not one of them. Having a preference for a certain physical trait has nothing to do with what you're talking about.

Right, not a fake boobs guy at all really.
It annoys me when pornstars with small tits (with a perfect booty) are asked by their managers to get breast implants. They almost ALWAYS look less attractive as a result.

I mean, you can take it however you want. The fact remains that something about this thread makes me deeply uncomfortable and I'm just trying to put those feelings into words the best way I know how. If that's not enough to get you to understand where I'm coming from then I'm obviously not capable of doing it, so, eh.

I will say, as for your first paragraph, it would be pretty much the same thing on the assumption that men were the marginalized sex who have been suffering under matriarchal objectification for a significant proportion of human history and still suffer under it significantly in modern contexts. I agree with some of what you say about the tone of the topic being stupid and finding it strange that people want to come onto neogaf and talk about what turns them on or whatever, but I'm a bit confused as to why you're taking issue with the thread. I opened it absent-mindedly and wouldn't have posted, probably most members did a similar thing, but some of them like to joke and make dumb posts about sex, so they did.

The topic is pretty clearly labelled that it's going to be about millenials (ie, this is you neogaf member!) preferring butts over boobs in porn searches...so you're gonna get a bunch of millenials talking about whether they prefer one over the other.

Is it that men shouldn't be talking or joking about their sexual preferences in a public forum? You don't seem to be saying that, but I could understand that - but then that would have to apply across the board, and there's a variety of threads about different kinds of sexuality that people seem to like talking about.

This might seem like an attack but I'm just asking - is the fact that it makes you uncomfortable a good reason to ban a certain kind of topic? Or do you just want to have the thread include that you don't like it?

I just don't see what you think should happen, I don't see what the resolution is. You don't like the thread, fair enough. I don't think it's particularly great, either. It's not the same thing, but if I see a topic that I knew was going to annoy me or make me feel bad about myself, I stay out of it - or, if I was concerned about it, I'd maybe report it.

The thread is probably on track to be locked. Maybe that's the only thing for it, I just felt like asking a bit about what you think should happen/why with this kind of thing.

You would say "I guess I prefer blond hair".

Dont wanna seem rude, but you absolutely sure those are quotes from the first page?

Anyway in regards to the topic. On the one hand I can definitely see where you are coming from. More often than not threads like these merely propagate the sexist objectifying of women and( some times males). Heck the reason why I stay out of dating website survey threads is cause they are extremely depressing to read as a black guy.

But on the other hand given the nature of the topic, it is almost inevitable that it would largely be men giving their preferred focus between the two given "options". Its not a deep or a nuanced discussion but its what you get from this kind of topic.

Either way Im not too attached to the thread that I would lament its closing.

I do like butts for the record

Perhaps he's wondering why someone would shoot a man before throwing him out of a plane.
For example Rebecca Linares

Jessie Rogers is the one that comes to mind for me. She already had the best booty I've ever seen, and her small tits actually worked in her favor in this regard. Until her manager made her get implants, and her career was all downhill from there.

Sorry, I meant from a single page. I think I randomly had page 5 open when I was scrolling for quotes? In any case, they came off a single page of a 16 page topic, which is full of similar things.

]I think a big part of it is the fact that it is ubiquitous. Especially since I'm into a lot of Japanese media, I am basically always knee-deep in that sort of fandom bullshit,

Just reading the thread out of boredom, but holy crap this is how I feel in my friend circle sometimes. One of only 2 girls in a chat that regularly has maybe 10+ people in it, and topics of conversation often turn to "check out this anime tiddy pic I saw, nice right" "DFC is best!" etc etc. Even your average forum has tons of this, gaming side gets it bad for some games.

Waifu wars is the worst, and I'm kind of tired of knowing what gets everyone's rocks off. It's probably prevalent in a lot of communities, but I really only have experience in those dedicated to Japanese media.

But stating those preferences freely is kind of a sign of privilege. Plus, it's actually off-topic. I keep saying this, but anecdotes do not disprove trends or statistics, and this is a thread about statistics. This is a good on-topic post:

I don't know, really. I'm mostly just letting out grievances because I don't really know what to do with these feelings otherwise.

In this particular case I think mods should have locked it down as soon as it became apparent it would devolve into a yet another ridiculous boobs vs ass thread. I mean, we have a rule against list threads (where people just list things they like without any explanation), and this thread really felt like it had no more content on offer than those usually do.

I had similar issues with the thread where the guy trotted out his breast-implant-obtaining wife like some kind of trophy, by the by. Something about that sort of thing just feels deeply wrong to me and I don't feel like it should really be allowed.

Normally I would indeed ignore these threads, but... again, the microaggression thing. It adds up. At some point I just throw my hands into the air and scream "Fuck this!" and start posting. It's just one of those things.

I'm sorry but I just can't agree that "personal preference towards breasts" is off-topic in a thread about people watching less breasts in porn.

I really do agree with most of what you're saying in general, but it feels kind of like walking into a volcano and then complaining that it was hot.

In fairness, focusing only on ass surgery stats is misleading because you'd be disregarding non-surgery tactics for women such as working out and dieting (especially squatting).

In real life when I walk down the street and I pass or see women I'm mentally very complementary to nearly every one of them. I think men have an unfair and unfounded reputation for having high standards for beauty or expectations of perfection. Just look around at who people commit to and the women are usually regular looking people and not who you associate with Victoria secret models.

No one can be all things to all people so while someone might like X in general they might also like Y about you instead. Odds are that you'll never check off 100% of Dream person status but men and women are not appreciated based on single virtues.

I wonder how much of this is really more of an ”old people suck at the internet" thing because who the hell is searching for ”big boobs" on a pornhub. It's like googling google.

Millennials just want someone to watch Netflix with

True story:p

Physical attraction is shallow, it's pretty much inherent to it.

And porn can probably be summarised to Physical attraction and fetish ( ? ).

The truly stupid thing would be to summarize love/dating to that too ( thought denying that physical attraction usually play a role would be stupid too ), but let's be real, if most people were that shallow, humankind would be on the brink of extinction.

Yeah physical attraction certainly plays a role to a certain extent to all people and honestly there is no denial around that, and yeah agreed about the last part applying literally all expectations/preferences/(porn)fetishes etc to dating etc will not work out well that much for anybody.

Variety is the spice of life.

I'm happy to be open minded about women's bodies (up to a point, unhealthy looking people are not attractive to me). I like tall & athletic, small and perky, curvy & busty, slim or bubble booty... It's all fine, they all look good to me.

Yeah i don't think this is crazy at all i am open minded too and agree with you i like all kinds of body types (not overweight/obesity tho curvy is cool) and sizes/height etc honestly i don't even care about boob size etc tbh, hair colour and races/skin colour (skin colour does not make someone more or less attractive imo also never cared wether someone had a tan or no tan) etc. And your unhealthy part is reasonable tbh it might sound abit harsh but as others have said physical attraction does play a role to humans it's normal it does ofcourse vary from person to person since one might care more or less about that.

It'll be a bummer for y'all when exposed breasts are unsexualized and commonplace. The rest of our naked form too, but women's nipples especially.

I'm so mad I'm not going to be around for our society to mature.

A lot. All those porn mags in the woods that formed their views of naked women were made by 80's creepos (the worst kind of creepos) who wouldn't let anyone get naked before their rack was illogically immense, either through surgical or artistic enhancement.

Not mature like in a "stop having fun" sense, mature like in a "women's bodies are normal and don't need to be hidden" sense

Sexuality, and the human form, is still way more taboo than violence (in America). And that will always blow my mind. I don't see a time when this country will mature, and shirk its puritanical beliefs. But the time it does will surely feel liberating.

Can we discuss creampies, too?

Well, that escalated quickly

You really thinking making breasts commonplace would make them nonsexual? Never gonna happen. We're already there anyway.
