Cryptocurrency |OT| Nothing from Money

Personally i use keepass on pc and smartphone. (Has an android app) . Database and key file are stored in the cloud (Dropbox) and i have one master password. It has a pw generator if you want to generate long ass random passwords for exchanges or wallets. There are some the threads in ot with other suggestions. 1pass and lastpass are mostly mentioned.

Ok thanks. A smartphone app does sound handy but storing the database and key file in dropbox? Google Drive would be fine aswell then? Can have as many backups as you want right?

Edit: and the master password is written down??

Masterpassword is one i just use for keepass which is rather long but i have only in my mind (since it's the key to all my passwords...). Would never write it down. Never.

Keyfile/database on cloud (one on DropBox other on google drive, but you just can just store it on yout pc or smartphone but then they don't sync with new entries) for the case that someone would have my Master PW, i could just remove the key file /database. Keepass on Smartphone connects to Dropbox/Google drive so i don't have the Database/keyfile locally on pc or smartphone (i have also backups of them hidden on another place). Both cloud services have 2FA activated.

Really, without it i would not have set my foot in crypto since i would go crazy with all the PWs. I also store extra info like addresses etc in keepass for every wallet. Some wallets want you to generate a password, that's when the generator in keepass comes in handy.

Sorry for little OT.

Lol, BCH 250 € lower than the last time i looked at blockfolio. Looking forward hiw btc vs bch is going to work out.

Thanks alot for all that info! Downloading keypass right now and will just keep the database on my google drive i guess but the only thing i'm not grasping yet is the keyfile.

Also this BTC vs BCH is making me nervous XD.

You don't have to use a key file. It's just an extra layer of security if you want to (just a little file keepass needs to connect to). Master pw and database is enough. I would recommend it though since if someone has your masterpassword and the database but not the key file, he can't login to your database (if key file is set up as necessity for login)

If you use firefox, install keyfox as plug in for keepass to auto fill your logins.

Thinking of stocking up on ARK although my aim is to stay put for a month without putting new fiat into the portfolio...

Ah so it's like an actual key, guess i'll use it. But you saved it on dropbox aswell? Or do you have the actual file on your PC or USB or something?

Sorry for bombarding you with all these questions >.>.

Just want to set it up right the first time.

Also i have been stocking up on ARK aswell as i feel it has real potential and i like the delegate system. Plus the community is great.

It is quite interesting to watch those two going up and down

Yeah it's like a Tug of War. :p

I'll send you a pm.

Thanks! Because i'm taking us off topic here ^^;.

Is it just me or is the ICO rush less now. Filecoin was the last bigger one and i could only name red-pulse (rdx, with neo ties) as upcoming ICO.

Man all these fluctuations in the coins is bad for the heart, I really need to stop looking at it every few hours. I don't day trade so I plan to hold everything I have for at least a year or two, but still each time I look my portfolio has either gone up or down by a grand or two lol

I'm trying to be patient to wait for the dgb rebrand and ark smart swaps stuff to make some gains but holy cow the volatility of the market right now makes me want to get out until the Bitcoin/Cash dust settles.

I held a small amount of DGB but i just sold it and just put it into ARK.

The DGB team just does not communicate at all and at this point i doubt a rebrand will do anything other than a short term boost.

(Watch me regret my decision in a month)

I become very rich :)

I hope you do!

Edit: Glad that IOTA is going back up again aswell, happy i held and bought some more during the dip.

Damn, I hope I haven't missed the cryptocurrency boat. I really have to educate myself in this subject ASAP.

I hope you do!

Thanks :)

Although, "Rich" is overdoing it. On the idea of "never put more in than you're willing to lose," I only had $200 in to begin with.
Now, though, the $200 is now worth ~$450.

That said, I took my $200 principal out a few days ago (so that all that was left in there was the "profit")
And I'm taking $150 out today.

Still, $150 cash in profits is pretty nice.
And it still leaves me with ~$100 in there to play around with.

I'm certainly not complaining.
(Even if I could have had much more if I had kept what I had in BTC in there as opposed to withdrawing. But, finances and such)

I initially put $200 into Eth last year and thought I lost it in the fork. Checked a few weeks ago and realized I still had it and it was $4100. Which I've been using to invest in some other coins. I really think trying to not day trade and just invest in solid coins that have long term growth prospects is really the way to go. Even as I don't follow my own advice.

Anyone been following Xrtabytes? Released a new ANN today and a bunch of other stuff. Looks like a really promising project now and they have the testnet up too if you want to try it out.

I ... can't even imagine how great that must have felt. lol

Still bitter I didn't buy into Monaco before, could have gotten massive 10X profits. Really wasn't expecting such a rapid pump. Now it's up again

We all have previous 'why didn't I buy' experience

like me and a chance of buying 400 BTC back in 2012

I rather do not think about it
.....

OMG is having a nice pump this morning.

Yeah I guess many of us have such stories and it is indeed better not to think about it. You never know what would have happened, you may have sold it as it doubled the price or whatever.

Many of us feel we are way too late to this game now but in fact and if this thing is really to take off big time and be used by the mainstream, we are still super early days.

lol same here :)

Don't really see DGB rebrand doing wonders over longterm. Antshares/NEO had more than just the rebrand going for it.

Similar price spike occurred yesterday at almost identical time :D

I need to stack up a bit on ARK when the next drop comes around.

I'm stocked up on ARK and IOTA, no plans to put more fiat into crypto for a while.

Now i just want to see the prices go up :p.

What the heck is lisk doing all of a sudden?
I have a few from a few months ago, which are slowly creeping upwards in blockfolio.

Anybody get into Xtrabytes yesterday when I mentioned it? Skyrocketing at the minute, hope you managed to pick some up while it was cheap 👍

Picked up some XBY in the beginning of June, glad to see it finally making a comeback since it was down quite a bit

Yeah me too was painful to watch it go down but scooped up a lot more between 200-300 sat so I'm miles ahead now. I think it will get to 1.2k in this rally before settling at around 900-1000 while we wait for the results of the testnet. If that goes smooth then the sky's the limit for it.

ARK going over 0.00043, I wonder if it can reach 0.00050

EDIT: looks like that was the peak for today.

I searched for it. But its not on Bittrex which is the only exchange Im familiar with.

It's on Cryptopia, C-Cex and Yobit. I would stay away from Yobit though as they are dragging their heels about updating the wallet so you can't withdraw your XBY from their site which I never feel comfortable about leaving it on an exchange.

It will be on Bitrex later once the testnet is complete and the Static nodes come online.

Nice! Yea I've always been keeping track of it's development. It was one of the first crypto's I bought so I have a special attachment to it lol

If you are trying to get BTC onto Cryptopia is there an alternative when using a credit card to Coinbase? (For someone in the US,Missouri)

Coinbase works perfectly fine with the ID verification. But it limits you hard. I would like to put more in right now so I can grab a few Im looking at.

Unfortunately most exchanges have a validation process which can take a few days, maybe longer if there is a surge of new signups. Took me over a month for Kraken to register my ID on my account

ARK staying at 0.00040 and looks like another rise is possible tonight.

I wonder what will be up when I woke up in 7 hours time :p
