Game of Thrones *NO BOOK DISCUSSION* |OT2| Season 7 - [Read the OP]

I did like how Tormund had the best reactions to the dragons. Jorah saw them before and the Hounds is the type who doesn't really show his surprised reactions.

How much time has passed for the raven to hit Dragonstone and Dany arriving like the Eagles in LOTR?

I'm not that bothered, just wondering if there's an explanation.

Yo, my mind is blown.
The Night King must've been a Greenseer, he must've.

Every attack he's done so far went perfect for him. Hardhome? 3ER's cave? Including this one.
Everything was well planned and executed almost perfectly. Now I'm convinced he waited for Bran to "visit" him and his army before branding him and destroying the cave.
I'm even more convinced after looking at that WW and his squad of Wights marching with 1 of them not even belonging to the group. It was a plant.
Then you have the spears and chains, getting himself a dragon.
HE KNEW.

Plus, I'm not sure of this yet because I'll have to revisit episode 5.
But when Bran warged those ravens and went North of the Wall,I'm almost certain that the area where they were at was the same cliff they led Jon and the squad into.

The Night King is The Architect. This is the 7th cycle of the Games. All will be revealed to Jon in the last episode.

What a weird coincidence that everyone """"predicted"""" that the dragon would be killed and resurrected by the Whitewalkers.

To be a bit fair, people had been posting Lich King/Sindragosa shit wayyyy before the season 7 info got leaked. I've not looked at the season 7 stuff, I didn't even click the thread for that once, but I've seen seeing that Lich King stuff since season 6.

Yeah, you know it's funny, there was a Yahoo article that somehow "predicted" exactly every moment of the ice dragon transformation. Hell they even called which dragon specifically got killed.

Man, must have just been a lucky prediction!!

Wow. that guy sure is good at predicting!

Yeah the "ice dragon" was the only thing I got spoiled about this season, and only because some idiot here posted a fanmade poster featuring an ice dragon.

In other news, I'm sure the northern lords will gladly rally behind their new dragon queen.

Oh Jon...get ready for another "Traitor" sign to be posted upon your arrival to Winterfell.

(I'm still glad he figuratively bent the knee though, don't get me wrong)

To be fair we don't know how much time passed between the battle and them coming back with the chains.

I feel like people need Spongebob time cards for this show.

Seriously, or they are arguing for three episodes of watching people do nothing but run through snow. That way they can complain the show is so boring. It's always going to be something with some people.

Also, Dragonfire does nothing to the NK, he walked through it.

His magic seems to repel it, but perhaps if he was hit with it point blank? Nah who we kidding. This ends with Longclaw turning him into a shattered ice sculpture.

Also, I didn't call hardly anything. I made so many predictions.

Jon and Gendry talking about Arya? Nope

Jorah and Jon talking about Sam? Nope

Jon summoning a dragon on his own with his dragon blood? Hell nope.

Telling you, the Night King won't be able to die from Valyrian steel either. They'll need to rip the dragon glass piece from his chest that made him.

It's always so bizarre every week watching people's reactions in the real world and how everyone thinks the show just keeps getting better / viewers keep rising.

Then you come in the threads here and you would think the show has gotten terrible. It's a night and day difference

The show has changed so dramatically from what it was a few seasons ago that you can't expect all of the long-term fans to be happy with it. Just because new people are coming in and going 'whoah!!!' doesn't mean the writing hasn't gotten worse, or that the show is now a very different kind of heroic fantasy action show from when it was a medival political intrigue and drama show that occasionally had battles.

If you're flat out lovin it, cool. People want others to know when something they have enjoyed for a long time starts to let them down, so let people say what they want to say.

I think its implied maybe 12 hours? It was afternoon, they fell asleep, and they woke up in the morning. All of that happened before the dragons showed up. It's plausible.

"It makes no sense, how did he even get the chains to pull the dragons out of the water!?11!"

Yes. It makes no sense. How DID the frozen zombie king find chains to pull a dragon out of the water? /s

Anything on the news are just spoilers in the guise of predictions.

Although a few people called the dragon stuff a while ago. It wasn't that shocking really.

Just one step closer to my home grown theory of using Scorpion and melting down the valyrian steel swords to make bolts to kill zombie dragon!

I never complain about time travel, don't put me in the same pool as those who do.

Those are still some big ass chains to have in the middle of nowhere. Regardless of time, would you expect him to keep chains like that around even back in his ice castle?

Where his catapults and ships at while we're at it?

Chains were probably from Hardhome. Undead army took a detour back there to get the chains, didn't show how much time had passed to go get those chains.

Not bitter, just unsweetened

"Lady Stark thanks you for your service"

That was part of the bait to wedge Arya against Sansa. Arya then finds it, thinks Littlefinger is hiding the scroll because Sansa requested.

That's why the confrontation goes the way it does.

Whats with the wights at Hardhome they were unstoppable and fast as shit but here their slow as walkers from the walking dead.

So did you miss the point where they were running from a fast horde?

They didn't run later because they didn't want to fall into the ice.

After Daenerys came and saw for herself and promised to fight for them, I think it was OK for Jon to "bend the knee".

She's proven herself, lost a dragon in the process.

Damn that's quick, lol.

Game of Thrones broke it's own suspension of disbelief

How this this so hard to grasp?

It has it's own in universe rules, extremely similar to our own, except with some magic abilities.

This is such a stupid counter point that we should turn our brains off during the show, it's Walking Dead levels of defense.

But but... STOP WHINING ABOUT TELEPORTATION, like SUSPENSION OF DISBELIEF, or like ID RATHER THEY ZOOM AROUND AND WAIT FOR EPISODES OF PEOPLE JUST TRAVELING...

/s

I've learned to ignore it, but it is a small flaw in this amazing show. It sucks that happens like this, and it sucks that it couldn't have been written so everything gels better. But it is what it is my friend :(. At least 90% of the episode was dope.

All of this Arya hate is really bothering. I guess Little Finger has shills on GAF.

Arya's one of my favorite characters, but this plot line is just written poorly. I don't blame her, after a season of LF not doing shit, they needed to do something to keep his ass relevant.

Remember when we thought Arya was playing the waif, as she skipped around the docks then nearly got stabbed to death?

Shes been written as an idiot since she went to Braavos

There is a literal ice dragon bearing down on Winterfell, just hours away. They have only one hope - Dany and her dragons.

Those fuckers will bend their knees, their backs, their dicks, whatever body part you can feasibly bend they will bend it for her the moment they see the NK riding Viserion, and that cannot be far away now.

I'm honestly rooting for the Night King now.

-Jon is a moron.

-Dany is an idiot.

-Tyrion has become an emotional Hamlet.

-Now they're trying to negotiate with Cersei? LOLOLOL

King's Landing should be in flames right now, but they keep doing this "right thing" bullshit.

I hope the Night King says fuck it, and launches his army of undead men, polar bears, dragons and whatever else right at Winterfell and doesn't stop until King's Landing.

soooo was tyrion right when he advised dany to do nothing?

In one hand, yeah but now they can prove to everyone that the White Walkers are real. Half of Jon's struggle so far has been getting people to believe him, and even the knows that do, don't really get it.

The chains are what people are complaining about? Really? After last week?

The way it was cut, a month could have transpired and you wouldn't have known.

That time jump, however long, actually seemed completely reasonable.

What's worse is Jon fighting off the White Walkers was absolutely unneeded. Benjen picks him up less than five minutes later and off he goes. They could have had the same exact scene with the dragon lance bullshit play out except with Jon on Drogon's back. So they made Jon an idiot for zero reason.

It's shit writing.

The time thing didn't bother me much. I'm assuming it was several days at least being stranded. It could take that long for the water to freeze. That's what the rock throwing was about. They could have shown the delay better though by showing the crew without water and beginning to starve.

Benjin's weapon sucks CONFIRMED. Flaming morningstar does little once it loses inertia after the first hit. Good for only one enemy at a time.

I have to agree though that the Winterfell writing is shit right now. All this fake drama made up for Arya and Sansa. She should be going after Littlefinger with all her accusations. And since when does Royace give a crap about littlefinger. This whole thing is so contrived.

That ended even more disasterously than expected for a plan that awful. I'm surprised more didn't die. They probably could've wiped out Tormund, Jorah, and Gendry and gotten away with it. They lost a dragon, the enemy gained a dragon, Thoros is dead, Beric on his last life, and Benjen dead, all for a plan that's not going to convince Cersei of shit.

They did a good job of letting the characters in the squad bounce off each other for a bit and have some fun with them before putting them through hell at least. And they actually kind of plausibly sold the idea that Jon could be dead again for a few seconds.

Arya's stuff is just kind of annoying though. It feels like she's just saying whatever she thinks would be creepiest to Sansa at any given moment for no other reason. It's like they want to punish everyone who hated Sansa and thought Arya was the coolest back in season 1 by writing a story were Arya picks needless fights over things where Sansa is clearly in the right.

When the army of the dead comes knocking on their gates they'll gladly crawl on their bellies for Dany.

Oh, that's the damn truth. I refuse to look at any "theory" stuff that's posted at this point. Thankfully, you're right about the dragon stuff not being too shocking - I've been telling my buddies that the ice dragon is coming since season 4 lol.

But the dragon got killed by it's flame on sack being pierced... So if that got punctured it couldn't make flames even as a zombie. Unless now it some how shoots ice.

Pretty sure it ripped a giant hole in his gut and they were pouring out when it crashed.

Yes. It makes no sense. How DID the frozen zombie king find chains to pull a dragon out of the water? /s

Also where were these chains manufactured?

Did the frozen zombie king import them? How did he get them delivered to the wall so quickly?

The whole purpose of that was for Dany to eventually see Jon's bare chest.
