What Nationality or Country would you want to see in a new Street Fighter Character?

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
Give me an Eskimo from like Canada/Alaska.

He could have a dope snow stage, and his outfit could be cool. Like bear skin or something of that ilk.

Donovan seems to be somewhat Gypsy/Mediterranean
After a quick Google search:
Irish (originally of County Limerick, later of Counties Cork and Kilkenny): reduced Anglicized form of Gaelic Ó Donndubháin ‘descendant of Donndubhán’, a personal name composed of the elements donn ‘brown-haired man’ or ‘chieftain’

So Donovan might be our Irish rep in Darkstalkers.

I'd like a hot Swedish girl, who looks and dresses very similar to Mika.
An Aussie character could be ok. As long as Capcom could do better than Junkrat.

Capcom has an Aussie character in Saturday Night Slam Masters they could bring back

Alexander the Grater (Sheep The Royal) He's a former Rugby Player

Eh...maybe....Irish guys don't normally have olive colored skin or dress like The Buddha but Donovan is supposed to be well travelled so I guess it's possible. What's more interesting is that Donovan is a Dhampir, a vampire/human crossbreed. That's a Slavic term, and given that most of the other character's nationalities tend to sync up with their legend of origin it's possible that may be a clue to his home.

It's also a lot closer to Asia than Ireland.

I totally dug that stage in its time, but I hate to think how Capcom would present a Scottish fighter.

Umm, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Just put her as a regular character in SFVI for Scotland, Darkstalkers is dead anyway.

Wouldn't even have to upload a new flag, would share the Union Flag/Jack.

Yeah but I always felt Morrigan was a good character design finished, then Scotland as her origin was an after thought. Modern Capcom making a Scottish character today... and I imagine Begbie from Trainspotting as they're point of reference. =/

SNK staying superior with Maxima. :3

Would be fun to compare the two series' reps.

Actually this is the top tanyer Canadian

Maxima wishes he was this good (like literally, he has some crazy mixups and damage), and was friends with penguins that go bobsledding with him.

I don't know why having characters be stereotypes is a big issue. SF is known for those. I'd much rather have that than have characters with nationalities just slapped onto them for no real reason, like Remy or Lars.

Rashid is actually a really good example of what Capcom should do with nationalities. It just barely scrapes up some stereotypes (djinn butler, royal family, oil company), but is otherwise a character that embraces its culture rather than being consumed by it (T Hawk, Gief) or just ignoring it (Remy, Blanka).

Haven't played Street Fighter since 2, so they probably already got these but:

A Uighur from Western China

A Puerto Rican chick.

A cholo from SoCal

A Redneck MLB player

Never forget the original concept art for fucking RUFUS

Never knew this existed. This causes me great anguish. Would LOVE to play either of these designs.

fwiw - I play chun. I love chun but I've always wanted a male equivalent to chun li. A black male equivalent would be my character for LIFE.

i'd obviously love a character from my home country: switzerland.

he could have a time gimmick or a super buff Schwinger from the alps.
i'd settle for a corrupt banker/FIFA official.

i think the only real prominent character we have is Mercy from Overwatch.

There is a Swede in DOA and extremely popular too...but you might not like it (unless you are into that kind of thing).

It's Marie Rose

Out of all the ideas listed in this thread, i feel like this is going to happen in the future.
Sometimes in the future we will see Tony Jaa clones, Iko Uwais clones and Ip Man clones.

I think it's eventually gonna happen in games like SF and Tekken if/when Indonesia ends up becoming an important Asian game market like China and South Korea have.

Maxima is Wolverine, the best Canadian at what he does.

I'd like to see a character from the Balkans / Eastern Europe!! Russians aren't the only slavs, Capcom!!!
Considering vampires were pretty significant in that area, I think it would be fun to mix that in with the character design. I can't think of a fighting style, buuut it would be cool if the character could step/move as if they were dancing in a part of hora/kolo/kalamatianos/etc (folk dance).

I thought T Hawk was a native Indian from America that just happen to be fighting in Mexico in street fighter 2 super,no?
The Thunderfoot tribe had a reservation in Texas that Shadaloo somehow aquired (I think they bought it?). The tribe moved to Mexico temporarily, though for whatever reason Hawk is listed as Mexican.

lol. Kickboxing ain't from Thailand and neither Sagat or Adon have it as their fighting style. They're Muay Thai fighters.

Muay Thai falls under kickboxing. I know, since I've been doing it for four years now and have fought on an amateur level.

They share similar principles and are pretty much similar while Kickboxing I think has more set rules for it's matches, while Muy Thai is pure martial arts....not too sure,

It's quite clear the first person didn't implied "Kickboxing" as a whole since was demanding a Thai to represent it.
I have a friend taking part in competitions at Thailand. No one would accept what they're doing as Kickboxing.

Sharing some principles doesn't make them "the same". Like saying Karate and Taekwondo are pretty much similar, so doesn't matter to differentiate which one you practice.

Irish Conor macgregor ripoff with tons of bravado. Give him the white mink coat and a rivalry with balrog.
